*1-1 Mentorship Information: Price & Structure (Maximum Capacity = 20 Clients Per Year)*
It's an absolute pleasure to film these TH-cam videos, and I feel fortunate to receive an abundance of meaningful messages every week, but I am unfortunately faced with the disappointing reality of turning away the vast majority of people who want to work together.
I have significantly limited availability and can only support twenty people per year because I do not offer one-off calls or drop-in consulting sessions.
Twenty individuals might not sound like maximum capacity, but the last few years of teaching have taught me the importance of maintaining tight energetic boundaries if I want to keep uploading these free videos in addition to serving my current clients to the best of my ability in 2024.
To minimise confusion and enhance transparency, I've spent several hours writing this ridiculously long comment to help you decide if my Inner Work Mentorship is the right choice for your development & what you could reasonably expect from working closely together.
Please take the time to read this service description before contacting me on Instagram… or feel free to stop reading right now if you’re not interested in my fees, session structure, client expectations, etc.
    ...
    *READ BEFORE SCROLLING FURTHER:*
I'm interested in long-term change and structural transformation, which is why I've never offered one-off sessions.
Complex issues cannot be resolved in a few hours, but we likewise need to define an upper limit for containment and collaboration.
I've learned that deep and enduring self-integration requires at least four months of immersive effort. Why four months? It's enough weekly contact for us to work through multiple complex issues and developmental possibilities, but short enough to mitigate against unconscious co-dependency and motivational stagnation.
I'm currently accepting a maximum of two new clients per month - message me after reading the following section to check my availability.
    ...
*HOW I WORK & WHO I WORK WITH*
Unlike other coaches and teachers who take an understandably more relaxed approach to healing and integration, my mentorships are characteristically intense.
This is a highly-demanding, high-investment process which requires our consistent combined effort over a period of four months.
If we were to start working together, I would reasonably expect you to be excited to show up for a minimum of 10+ hours of self-motivated transformative practice per week (daily reading, fitness routine, creative exercises, spiritual reflection, etc.) while also maintaining full-sobriety (no drink, no drugs, no cigarettes, no vapes).
These strict standards of discipline and sobriety are plainly unsuitable for most people in most situations - even genuinely motivated individuals who resonate with my TH-cam videos may not be the right match for four months of structured mentorship.
If you want to get deeper, I've noticed that there's a certain type of ‘temperament' & 'timing’ to get the most out of me.
I'm interested in alert, creative and purpose-driven individuals who aspire to exceptional standards of self-maturation and would enjoy the feeling of going through week-on-week of progressively stacked transformative experiences for a third of a year: my ideal client is somebody who is willing to bring forward their internal complexity with a sense of courage and transparency with the intention of nothing less than full-spectrum transformation & rapid acceleration on their personal path.
I am yet to discover another supportive figure who offers something comparable to this mentorship: a four-month, structured yet flexible 1-1 container which is simultaneously therapeutic, academic and action-oriented; with primary focus placed on tangible improvements in your felt sense of self-knowledge and self-integration; in addition to making consistent and meaningful progress towards your unique goals and mentorship aspirations.
I prioritise contact, compassion and accountability, which means that your work never really 'ends' at the end of your session. You can reasonably expect to be fed dozens of customised reading suggestions and follow-on perspectives outside of the formal sessions via friendly and informal messenger contact, where I am active and available four days per week to cultivate an intimate personal connection while likewise enhancing your positive momentum via accountability check-ins and additional support as required.
By way of conclusion for what feels like an extraordinarily long comment and service description, I feel compelled to once more emphasise that working directly with me is unrealistic for most people in most situations.
I often support people who are accustomed to wrestling with the emotional challenges associated with working through complex wounds in previous therapeutic relationships before we begin our coaching work together. Even individuals without 'hard trauma' can expect moments of pressurised darkness and heaviness during periods of shadow contact as you begin to restructure your personal unconscious. We will be exploring your psyche and soma at scale and depth, and it will be your responsibility to keep me informed about the emotional texture of your internal reality, especially if you encounter negatively charged experiences, and I will of course do everything in my power to support you through the hard times as we integrate the darkness and move forwards together.
TH-cam is a wonderful place for me to share free research resources and offer accessible inner work invitations; my private mentorships, however, are the place for collaborative partnership and emotional security as we identify, navigate and restructure oftentimes confronting and challenging conscious and unconscious physical, emotional and mental material.
Ultimately, this is a highly-demanding but highly-rewarding process which requires the best of our shared intentions.
    ...
    *SESSION STRUCTURE & FEES:*
The total fee for an Inner Work Mentorship (including 12 x 2 hr sessions) is £7,400 GBP or approximately $9,400 USD. This is my only coaching programme, and my mentorship pricing is liable to adjustment over time.

Each private session lasts two hours, and is facilitated via Telegram video call at an ideal time for both of us. Your mentorship extends over a linear four-month period, with a total of twenty-four hours of structured session time, in addition to four days per week of unlimited messenger availability for accountability updates, voice note exchanges and informal calls upon occasion. I do not work on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays, but I am fully-available across all timezones for regular calls and messenger contact on Thursday - Sunday.
If you’ve scrolled this far, and resonate with what I’m offering, I invite you to message me on Instagram. It would be my pleasure to start exploring your goals and intentions in real-time.
IMPORTANT: I am an intentionally independent coach, and not a licensed therapist or associated with any professional bodies or coaching institutions, and therefore enjoy the freedom to collaborate with my clients across all areas of life in an intimate, direct and highly involved coaching style. I work with no more than twenty people per year, and am currently accepting a maximum of two new clients per month. I also manage my own inbox and do not use automated systems or employ people to pretend to be me on Instagram, which means that it usually takes four to six weeks for me to respond to new messages and begin the interview process. Although my approach takes time, I hope you ultimately appreciate my personal emphasis on authentic and confidential communication from the very beginning of our relationship. I once again encourage you to message me immediately if you want to start working together within the next two months - bump yourself to the top of my inbox, and I’ll send you some voice notes to get our conversation started.

I struggled with depression and isolating myself, after some heartache and loss of inner joy, when in my early twenties. When sat on the bathtub with a knife in my hand, I realised I couldn’t do it. Some part resisted. That was fascinating. It took me some time of inner work, without guidance, through visualisation journeys and dialogue with the subconscious, that finally one day I lay in bed and my own face appeared inches away from me. Clear as chrystaline awareness. Every line on my face, we just watched eachother deep in the eyes in silence. After some time my face disappeared. I woke up while being wide awake, drew back the curtains after 2 years, called my work and school I’d be rejoining efforts, and my depression finished that very moment. Unbelievable.

the opposite is true - looking inside bubbles you in and makes you self-obsessed. Our psyche is telling us lies and lies and even more lies. We need to dismantle it and observe what is really going on around us, before we turn everything into nonsense with our "interpretations". direct perception is the only way out.

On that pine cone, each scale carries 2 seeds, and each cone has many scales. So the cone never becomes a tree, but each carries the potential to become many trees. For some pine species, the cones lie dormant until being awoken by a forest fire, then the seeds awaken to repopulate the land. There is a lot to pine cones.

When I was a child I remember telling someone I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, but due to financial necessity I went into a life of straight officework jobs from a young age for many years. Now I've retired, even though I still have a strong family commitment to meet, what spare time I get I'm throwing myself into art and when I finish a small painting or artwork for my weekly online challenge, it SO lifts my mood. I feel I am honouring my child within. So true.

Nice explanation and ty for the book recommendation. I got into A.I by mistake during a meditation on a certain subject.
I found myself into a foreign space having a conversation with a strange character. And it all starts from there.
I'm mostly concerned about if there are side effects to this because it can also get very intense and dark. Jung gave some warnings, considering he was sleeping with a gun under his pillow yikes...

    • @jordanthornton
      @jordanthornton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Blindly (or even hopefully) roaming around unconscious territory can be incredibly destabilising, for sure. I've had my own unsettling experiences which is why I would never advise 'just doing' shadow work with minimal understanding of the territory itself - we need to be cautious, even if it's unlikely that most people will encounter particularly spooky elements. I'm glad you are taking precautions, and hope you find value in the reading suggestions, plenty more in the description of my videos too!

I create stories. Recently I starter doing active imagination and my characters started appearing and talking to me.
The last time I did it, three days ago I think, I were very worried about something on my personal life. This worry were doing harm to me, and I knew it, but I couldn't get rid of it.
Then, I did the active imagination.
Generally doing active imagination helps me to concentrate and keep my calm and relaxed state, so I did it. Then something unexpected happened. A figure that I didn't expected appeared on on my active imagination, one of my villains. I thought that a hero would be the one who would be able to help me to put myself together, but it was the villain. And the contact I had with he and his ideas helped me to abandon all my worries and to focus on my future, my destiny.
    This was an interesting experience.
I generally see this character as something similar to my Shadow. He is similar to what I would be if I were evil, and his reasons are the reasons I would have if I were evil. It were surprisingly interesting to see that he could inspire me as well.

The unconscious is your guide. Your unconscious possesses knowledge. But not wisdom. Wisdom is not knowledge. Wisdom awakes when you are free of self-consciousness wich includes the unconscious. Knowledge is the result of experiences. Wisdom is not the result of experiences. It's important that the conscious can communicate with the unconscious. This is only possible if you live in harmony. A method of living in harmony is something nonsensical. You can listen to the hints of your subconscious. But not talk to your subconscious. A medium can talk to her guide, but that's something entirely different. The self-consciousness is selfish and pursues it's own interests. So is the subconsciousness. The division between the conscious and unconscious is imaginary. It's a whole.

The initial difficulty I have with the approach you present is that it is expressed in a conceptual framework which is relatively ancient. Consider for example the conceptual framework operative in the following dialog:
    th-cam.com/video/JEx63WzpXO0/w-d-xo.html
Where would one find a re-conceptualization of 'Shadow Work' expressed in a conceptual framework aligned with those preferring a scientifically-informed modern understanding of brain and mind? Does such a re-conceptualization exist? Is it even possible?

"You're only imagining things" or "You're making things up" is taken out of context in my opinion. Those sayings are typically used in conversation that don't have much to do with creative imagination, rather they are a defensive tactics in an argument of sorts. Just a thought. Yes, there's always an element of projection in social interactions - but perhaps the inner work could be taking a closer introspective look at the shadows or parts which are actually corresponding to the projections you receive? Sometimes it can be shocking to realise what was there beneath the surface!

Great video and it quite resonates after the fact. I wonder if what has happened to me is more common yet not spoke about. To make a long story short I didn't realize that my invisible friend as a child was literally what I might consider my higher-self as I've come full circle with it. It was literally like having one foot on both sides of the door until societies biased reality slammed that door. Society began to force me to relate and associate reality on it's term and being a child I fell in line. It was like all the stuff that I use to know without doing the work was in the way society teaches was forced to take a back seat especially in school.
Fast forward things would still come in a way but It was like doing double duty having gotten it my way and now having to present in society's way and all that was required of it. Many amazing and strange things along the journey that I really thought nothing of until a little over 10yrs ago in my 40's we were back. It's hard to even explain as I was learning about so many things on inner work that I guess it was time and everything was leading up to my higher-self being made known to me and reminding me of the invisible friend which I had forgotten about and barely remember.
There is a balance and I learned quickly that I don't have to do all the work anymore and we still joke about it. It was just something out the blue and I was told we'll handle it and it often put me in the mind of the phrase "let go, let God" and I did. Still to this day sometimes I'm just like "take care of that" and it would be taken care of. That's when I realized that moving ahead too fast is not an option as everything has to be brought to us in the form of experiences. I started to see how so many were living through other's experiences and not having their own and not really progressing. It's like borrowed or stolen magic, it never last but the real magic from within can never be taken away.
I thought the floodgates would just open up and everything would be made known but that's not how it works and I started to realize that all the answers would eventually come at the proper time through an experience. Knowing this make you see this reality through a different lens and makes even the mundane of situations quite new and refreshing. Most of the things shown to each of us will probably be on a more personal level and not quite relevant to anyone else or at least that's in my case.
It's like being at the beginning of a maze and having someone whisper in your ear that we already made it out and instead of trying to figure it out on your own you say lead the way. It doesn't mean that everything will be rainbows and roses but you now look a life's situations through a non biased lens and only as an experience to fulfill our purpose. At first it's like being a kid in a candy store and even though you're told all the candy is yours you stuff yourself with all the possibilities until you look at yourself and say are you done. We're so busy trying to rush through as though was is you can ever be taken away that we forget to enjoy the experience and that's when we slap ourselves. It makes you realize that regardless of all we've been through we wouldn't change one second of it because of where we are right now. There's so much more but you probably haven't even read all this and sometimes it pours out as if there's something important to get across and who knows maybe this is for someone.
Going to check out more of your series as most things I start to run into come in the form of confirmation and stands out like a sore thumb. This is the greatest time to be alive yet some of us don't realize it and I can understand that as everyone's situation is different and some challenges seem insurmountable. Maybe this was just for me but I was told we came here for this to live it in the NOW and experience on a different level than already know and to live in it and not just through it. I sense just as in a vibration or frequency wave there are going to be a lot of ups and downs for some but in the end it's all well worth it! Good luck on your journeys and to all those on the path we're here to help one another so you don't have to do this alone and that's something I have to keep telling myself so I play my part. To anyone who made it this far remember eventually you won't have to move mountains because the mountains will already know to move! 🙏❤🙏

Great! Damn i need therapy. Listening to this led to some collisions in my head/being/soul. Language itself. My first language was italian. The italian boy was killed. American was the acquired impostor language. Of the approaches you propose, i find more in the nonverbal. I cannot help the storm in my brain the instant god is mentioned. I grew up atheist and condemning organized religion. Some weird stuff happened in young adulthood that caused me to question the atheism. The belief i came to is a pagan one, there's many entities, and they're not all loving. Up to us to gravitate to love. I don't comprehend how there's one god who's the boss. I noticed recently the italian word for god, dio, doesn't elicit the hostility, evoking instead a memory of dark marble columned chamber illuminated by small candles.

Do you hear your normal thoughts in your head in your voice/ are you a sensing personality type?
It's confusing when people say "you're gonna hear a voice" because a lot of us don't even hear our own voice in our heads when we think/ don't have an internal language based dialogue, but think in more symbolic/intuitive/visual/graphical/geometric/color/etc ways that we then translate to language when we need to communicate it or write it down but can be pretty rational otherwise. The first tends to correlate with dominant sensing types, or types who may be intuitive but have masculine sensing per objective personality system. So when we don't even hear our own voice in our heads, I'd think that the archetypes wouldn't express as voices either, unless other people who do active imagination and don't have auditory language based thoughts do actually hear the archetypes' voices.
Also do you think Jung actually heard voices? Does he ever mention having an internal dialogue? He was an intp with feminine sensing

I have heard about the book of Carl Jung called the "the Red book" but i never knew what is about. Years before that, i have been having visions, whenever I'm about to go to sleep, while still awake(usually just having a conversation with myself or making up a scenario on my head) and then suddenly i see an image appear right before my eyes (totally not telated to the conversation or the scenarios i was thinking of)
I have seen very strange things, from hugging a women in a place i have never been, seeing odd looking monsters trapped in some sort of basement, seeing a Raven at the university i study in, with huge wings , an old man wearing all white handing me a beautiful book, decorated with gems ect. Later on, out og curiosity, i started reading the Red Book, and to my surprised he was talking him having very similar experiences with himself and his patients as well. I still cannot determine all of the visions i had based on their meaning.

I have been doing Active Imagination, but mainly focused on my shadows: parts of me I dislike. 95% of the time they are hurt or are tired of doing their jobs and they need my help. Most of the times, we reach an agreement to work as a team. I use humor and a lot of love. I realized LOVE is the cure-it-(almost)-all remedy. The universe, the world and life moves because of love. I would consciously choose what part of me I would be connecting with, but from this video, it seems that I can just connect with whatever shows up. I personally use Open Awareness meditation to connect and these characters or sub-personalities almost always have a shape: a gem, a video game character, an animal...

As I listen and receive, the awareness is, that this conversation is already naturally occurring, on its own, without anyone having to "do" it. It is the conversation, or relationship between Self and self. Or, as the mystics say, Self to self. Self speaking to itself, touching itself, tasting itself, becoming itself. There is one, the programmed conversation, which is based in the repetition of the separation myth. and this is recognizable as self talk, or self criticism, or keeping one at a distance from oneself. And then there is the discovery of the inner dialogue, which recognizes itself, falls in love with the recognition of itself, has a continual love affair with itself.... More like an undressing, or unveiling of what obscures the naturally, intimate dialogue rather than the active creating of a dialogue. But perhaps it depends on the person, how it unfolds, how it is discovered. 🙏

I often smile at myself, feeling compelled to share before a video,a person completes their message. And in this, I can share "prematurely" because of having received so much treasure (in myself, the other and what occurs in the field between, no matter the physical distance) In so few words, gestures and expressions put forth, I feel lit and cannot contain myself. And, upon further viewing (and some patience!), I've become aware that your offering is such grace and wonder for those newly in conversation with themselves, and gifts many (the comments below speak) with direct tools, activating the deepest longing for self/soul connection. I recall this occurring for me very spontaneously at one time earlier in my journey, the inner dialogue, while having been so devoted to self inquiry. What you offer, and how you offer is such potent magic. There really is, for me, no greater magic and beauty than the alchemical power we all share of falling into reality with the Self. I have just tried it and what it resulted in: 1. I was stuck in contradiction of trying to listen and preserve balance at the same time, but, logically, if you mostly listen then there is no balance 2. I completely lost consciousness and ended up in a dream that told me that I should just erase myself, as if I'm some kind of worst criminal to ever live...

Hi, I just found your video today. I love it, thank you! 😊 I don't know if it sounds a bit... I'm not sure what really! Please could you give me some help with words to use for making the request/ intention? I'd really appreciate it, I've started practising simply sitting, meditating, in silence and have built to 40 minutes, I have been meditating over thd last two years, but mostly guided ones. I might be over thinking,... but It will help me with my confidence, to know what words to say! I'm going to listen again now🌻🦋

TH-cam recommended this video from 3 years ago and the transformation is so obvious. Everything seems to have changed, starting with your voice depth, talking speed and ending with the half empty bookshelf behind you (that seems to be the biggest change). From this perspective your growth and inner work is even more impressive and noticeable. I wonder what the next recommendation will be for me to see yet another transformation you’ve undergone through years.

This might be my way back in, so to speak, since I rarely dream like I used to [greatly influenced by medication, hormones, etc.]. In my later 30's, when first trying out a [then] new anti-depressant, it was like a Pandora's Box [but a good one, mostly] that opened up the dream world, particularly with lucid dreaming [even shapeshifting characters, species, etc., a Jungian feast]. This happened for a period of, at least, one year. I had several lucid dreams and learned NOT to control them [but EVERYone goes through that phase, don't they, LOL?!]. I actually look back on that with the thought that that less mature phase, that playful, excited part that wants to just have fun with it, is just part of the initial process and can be a good thing AS LONG AS YOU DON'T GET STUCK THERE, lol]. In fact, it was a great way to sort of experience so much that was repressed. Truth is, lucid dreaming brings an incredible opportunity to practice courage and face your demons without having to put yourself in actual physical danger [even though it can still FEEL like it, in the dream, sometimes even despite knowing [the inner witness] that it is "merely" a dream....hence the courage!]. It can be immensely powerful! I don't know if, in some of those dreams, I was in contact with some guide or merely my higher self. I just knew that, if I paid attention, I could learn a lot! Facing your demons in the dream can be so transforming....dream characters & monsters changing right before your very eyes. It is so incredible. One dream could be like 6 months worth of therapy! It goes right to the core. Steven LaBerge [sp?] has some great books/audios [and probably great Y-T's, ha] about lucid dreaming and practicing recommended exercises [at that time] definitely enhanced the ability to lucid dream [and learn not to so easily get sucked right back into the dream, which is always a bummer]. Even in times you get "sucked back in", however, the dream material can be highly beneficial if you are willing to take the time to explore it [and it DOES take time and effort, sorry to add, but can be well worth it!].
However, even when not lucid dreaming, I learned to remember dreams full of rich & valuable material. As you stated or indicated, however outstanding or alluring the dream material may have felt, what a waste if we let the teaching of it slide by. That was also the attitude of f John D. Goldhammer, PhD [remember that name!]. I attended one of his dream workshops back in the early 2000's [hard to believe that is so long ago, already!]. He is the author of this book I highly recommend to anyone who is serious about doing dream work [maybe I am not to state titles here ?]. I remember saving a couple of baffling dreams; one I never imagined I could even begin to make sense out of, until after applying recommended concepts [basically, a way to explore, or ask YOURSELF the right questions; a self-guiding way to determine your own dream symbology].
In that respect [keeping in mind to read and utilize only what description feels right, in terms of what you actually feel and how that fits in your dream], let me share the name of another author whose book I found incredibly helpful: Patricia Troyer.

The unconscious is temporary and it's content is released, purged, and integrated during spiritual awakening and integration process. Active imagination is a good technique provided the unconscious or Dynamic Ground is in the repressed state. Once one integrates the unconscious, which takes decades, the Self or Divine Core is revealed and it's Divine Spiritual energy begins to flow through the Being and enlighten the person. The understanding of what the unconscious is in fact, changes profoundly when one has achieved Soul Realization. The unconscious and its dark energies and wounds become de-potentiated and healed and a person becomes a fully conscious, spirit filled individual. Even the archetypes become depotentiated and integrated and no longer threaten the ego with possession. Projection falls away as a delusion. The outer world becomes a world of hallowed resplendence...literally. One's perception radically changes as the modes of perception are purged, healed, and integrated and Spirit now lights up the consciousness unencumbered and no longer darkened by the trauma, wounds, and complexes of the unconscious. The unconscious falls away and one becomes fully conscious and filled with effulgence, bliss, and ecstacy. Even so, tools like active imagination, dream interpretation, prayer, and meditation are indispensable until one reaches the Soul Realized stage. The Soul is magnificent and excellent in every regard.

When I have a feeling (trauma) and I cannot place it, what it actually is, what emotion it is or where it originates from, I ask my self / inner parts / subconcious if they are willing to visualise it. Then I pause my concious thougts for a few seconds (meditation like state) and let go of the outcome / answer (if I am preoccupied with what I want it to be, it does not work). More often than not some scene / idea / concept / animal appears that explaines the pain. I can then ask questions about it, like: is it rejection? And I get a yes or no. Really helpful. Then I can proceed with dialog to facilitate healing.

@@jordanthornton I would be very careful, I know too many people who have lost their grip on life on this route, especially when "substances" come into view. Dreams and imaginations are weightless - anything can happen in a dream, you can slide from A to Z in no time and without any effort. There are aspects of reality that are completely reliable and won't go away, even when you refuse to believe in them - those are the best - the "rough ground".
