- Today is World Pancreatic Cancer Day, and to help raise awareness, we are all wearing purple and reminding everyone that early detection is key. I'm raising a voice of a Warren woman, Lori Barczyk, whose late husband Brian shared his story with me last year at 'The Reptarium' in Utica, an interactive reptile zoo that he founded. And I have an update on how his dream aquarium project is coming along.
Not gonna lie hearing Brian's goodbye still makes me tear up, Lori and Jay are keeping Brian's love of content and we all know he's looking down with his extatic excitement we all adored. RIP Brian and thank you for the 8 years of content I watched you over❤
I’ve watched it multiple times and makes me sob! I love and miss Brian so much but glad his LegaSea Aquarium is coming together! I had no idea it would take this long, but there’s so much they’ve been doing and are a great team!
No video ever made me cry more. I can’t watch it without a flood of tears coming.
@mspears_bobobuddytheseniorcat Its incredible the strength and determination Lori and the crew have shown, not gonna lie but I lost a lot of indispensable people 1 every year.
My best friend and who I called brother in 2021 to ketosis from undiagnosed diabetes
My soul dog Harley 2022 and then my nan and best friend in the family 2023, I feel there pain and Lori and crew are the reason I'm still here from them marching through with the Legasea build while being real and showing the pain.
@@julievanderleest I can only think of 3 times other than the video I did the same ❤️
I just can't believe he's gone, i first watched his vids in covid but after a while i took a break then i hear some balled guy was dying but i recognised something.....THAT NAME THAT FACE so i searched for any prev footage and.......I FOUND MY HORRIFIC DISCOVERY HE WAS GONE 😢
I'm a pancreatic cancer survivor, and Brian's journey was difficult for me to watch. He was an incredible person.
We miss you, Brian.
Wishing you all the best🌷
Wow, you sure beat the odds, kidney for me, have a good one!
Thank you for doing this story. Brian changed so many lives and gave so many people including myself confidence in life. Brian was and always will be an inspiration to everyone out there.
R.I.P Brian and Dingo, 2 certified legends in the trade.
Thank you for covering Brian's story. We all still miss him
That goodbye video was the hardest video I've ever watched!
Seeing Lori and the Crew put all this together is incredible!!!!!
RIP Brian. I can’t wait to visit the legacy when it’s complete. I’m in tears at work watching this
RIP Brian. Glad y'all are doing a coverage of the aquarium. It's getting close finally!
The reptile community loved and still loves Brian so much for everything he did for our passion. We miss him.
R.I.P. Brian I’m a 22 year old and have grown up watching your reptile videos thank you for teaching me so much and how to respect animals.. fly high brotha.
Thank you for doing another interview. Please make sure your team goes out and records the Legasea when it’s grand opening. Brian, his family and workers(family) deserve this recognition! Beautiful news coverage!
Thank you for honoring Brian's memory. We will never forget him.
Brian has been my hero for many, many years.
Thank you for supporting Brian and Lori
Thank you for helping spread this message of Brians Legacy
An amazing human. I still watch almost every morning
Hearing Lori be called a widow out loud absolutely demolished me. I've long followed Brian and his family/crew/endeavors, and this has been a huge hit to our community over the last year.
You and me both... man it's been a year .. and it still feels like a Sledge hammer in the chest
@@joellowe2215 I totally agree. I still watch Brian's channel and love it like I always did, but man, it's also hard because he's missing and has been for the last year. It's like I'm waiting for him to come home from Africa (if I'm not mistaken, he absolutely LOVED Africa with everything in him, and the conservation efforts surrounding some of the endangered species in threatened areas). I can't imagine what that family has felt over the last year. Everyone gave Noah crap about leaving The Rep, but honestly, I get it. I lost my dad at that exact age, and I honestly couldn't imagine even trying to do what Noah tried. I just hope Lori is doing as good as she shows us to be in the vlog
Hearing anything but his wife hit me like a punch to the gut. I was making it with just a few tears then I ugly cried for half an hour..
Hey, I saw them filming this yesterday on the reptarium channel 👍
The TH-cam channel is "Brian Barczyk".
We love Brian. Never stop saying his name!
Hearing Brian say goodbye again really got me, the Legasea crew are doing amazing things he would be so proud! RIP Brian 😢
It's been a year but it feels like it was just yesterday. The world lost one of the most enigmatic, passionate and wholesome animal lovers the world didn't know it had. And his good friend Dingo died recently too, who was also one of these titans of the animal conservation and knowledge. The animal world lost 3 great men but I've no doubt Steve Irwin, Brian Barczyk and Dingo Dingleman are still having the most amazing adventures together in the next world, having a blast. Lori and everyone at the Reptarium (and beyond) have shown a strength and will power to keep moving forward that amazes and inspires. They are Brian's legacy and I've no doubt in all the world that they are making him prouder than ever before. I hope one day I'll get to visit Legasea and see what such an amazing man and visionary created. Rest in peace, fellas.
This made me so sad ugh. This man was great !!!! Such a visionary man who did the work !!!!
Thank you for covering Brian's story. He was a great man and we miss him dearly ❤️😢🙏
Thanks for keeping the Reptarium family in your hearts and minds. Brian was an exceptional human and really deserves to be remembered
Brian did so much for the reptile community and will never be forgotten! Few people have accomplished what he did regarding spreading awareness and love for all animals!
Great piece on Brian!!! One team, One Dream!! Can't wait for opening day!!
I love this! They should make merch that says this.🫶🏼
Brian we will always say your name, and we we will never forget you ❤️ Lori is amazing, the reptile army is as strong as ever. The aquarium build SO exciting! Love from New Zealand 🇳🇿❤️🇺🇸
Still so hard to believe he passed. I remember watching his goodbye video and sobbing through it 💔💔 So glad to hear the aquarium is almost finished, and I hope this project has given his family some level of peace.
I had to pause that goodbye video at least 4 times to make it through. I cry anytime I see it but try not to watch it much because it’s heartbreaking
Brian was such an awesome person and he definitely changed my views on reptile's.🦎🦎 I've been a fan and a follower of the reptile army for a long time and to watch Brian build up the reptarium. and now to see Lori and Jay and his team fulfill his dreams of this aquarium is absolutely amazing. And I know Brian is with them in Spirit the whole way and is proud to every single one of them from his team to all the other people who have been working so hard to make his dream a reality
I became a fan of the late Brian about 6 years ago as I was scared of snakes I looked on TH-cam to help battle my fears . Living in Wales I don’t get to see many reptiles and I learnt to love and appreciate all of his reptiles by watching his channel. He is missed all over the globe 💜👏🏻💜
Fellow welsh fan I see! Rip Brian.
I miss Brian every day! I watch his vlog daily and have for years. My small way of paying tribute to him, his crew and his family. Thank you for supporting him, I know he would be so happy to be remembered in such a way. ❤️
The LegaSea of a Legend will forever be remembered and continued by his friend, family and all those who’s hearts he’s touched on and off the screen RIP Brian deeply missed but never forgotten! ❤
Brian was and is a hugely inspirational person! Lori has been absolutely amazing and fully committed to realizing Brian's vision. You can tell whenever you hear Lori, Brian, or anyone else involved with creating this amazing aquarium that this isn't about making money for them. They will obviously make money but this is about the love and passion for the animals!
Lori looks so beautiful. I love that top on her and her hair. I'm so happy to see Brian's dream coming true thanks to his amazing Wife, family and friends. I live 2 hours south of LegaSea. My work just closed its facility and is laying us off. Kinda forgot that I wanted to get a job at LegaSea but I live too far away. My Mom just found out her results yesterday and is fighting cancer again. Prayers to everyone going through such hardships.
Brian was and continues to be an inspiration to so many people. He helped millions of people get over their fear of snakes and brought so much love and awareness to the Reptile Hobby. He will always be remembered.
In tears once again over the loss of a great man who has educated and influenced so many in such a positive way.
ABC7 Thank you for sharing Brian's story on Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day. We need to be aware because pancreatic cancer is so sneaky and so deadly. And it is ruthless and quick. By the time symptoms appear it is usually too late. We beed to find a routine inexpensive way to screen for this that insurance companies would be willing to pay for .
Come on AMA, you need to speak out more! Americans Cancer Society, make some noise!Researchers should be incentivized to make this a screening a priority goal like mammograms and other screening.
Let's spread this awareness!!!
This brought me to tears, Brian was, and still is an inspiration. His wife and the team are amazing at keeping his Legacy alive, and inspire as well. I am so thankful for them in my life!
Great story. The news needs more of THIS!!!
Brian was such a light in the world. He has this joy that was so pure when he was with his animals
Thank you for sharing this not only for pancreatic cancer but also Brian’s dream.
Oh my heart, this has me in tears. 🙏🏼R.I.P Brian, you’ll be forever missed🙏🏼. My heart still breaks for Lori and their kids. This news station did such a beautiful job along with the anchors. Such genuine people. Bless you all. 🙏🏼🤗
We loved Brian and continue to love him and his passions which include Lori, his children, grandchildren, employees and friends. I never met him but he loved everyone and you could feel it. Oh how he is missed! Please support The Legasea Aquarium and Reptarium. “Be Kind to Someone”! We will see you one day Brian.
Brian’s legacy lives on. ❤
Beyond words, beyond measure, Brian's heart, his ability to connect to all of us creatures, the love he's left legitimately throughout the world, that magic lives on in each of us he touched.
His legacy, and LegaSea, remind us of the potent potential, and the power of Positivity. Echoes in cabin...Remember, be kind to someone today, and grateful to whomever you see tomorrow. 🐊🐍🐢
I miss him so much😭❤❤
Lost my dad and my husband to pancreatic cancer. Like Brian, it was too late by the time they both found out.
Thanks for drawing attention to it. Hopefully it helps save others.
I could not hold back the tears.
It use to be in the 50's, but everyone start getting your check-ups, and screening in your 40's. Cases of cancer are going up in the 40's but the sooner it's detected, the easier it is to cure. Bless the Barczyk family/crew, and the Reptile Army.
Thank you for sharing their story - they’re so amazing and I can’t wait to visit when LegaSea opens!
We love you Brian. Cant wait to make it up to the Legasea. The most love and respect for Lori and the crew. We love you all 💚
Lori is such a strong woman. And is doing her best to carry on Brian’s legacy. She’s doing a flawless job. We all miss you Brian.
Brian, love you oh so much forever! ❤🕊️Thank you for doing this story! Lori, you’re a true hero!
I was really sad when he passed away, I always love his videos. It's really good to enjoy it, Rip Bryan, we will always never forget you, and you're friends and family always carry your legacy
I miss him! Now I’m crying. So thankful I found him and my love for reptiles from him. And that my son is as amazed by him.
I started watching Brian's channel again because it looked like he aged 30 years in his thumbnail. And now to see Lori trying to complete this multimillion dollar project is insane. Hope they are successful.
This made me smile and cry.. Lori you’re an absolute fucking SuperHero!! So awesome and well done!! B is upstairs bragging his tail off!
He was a great man. His fam and team are the best people.
Omg this made me tear up! The ongoing recognition of the LegaSea is absolutely amazing! I do have to say tho hearing Bryan's goodbye video again really hurt my heart! I'm so sorry Lori and crew! You guys are doing a fantastic job tho!
We may have lost Brian but his reptile army continues on. He is a legend & Lori has done an amazing job filling those giant shoes left behind.
Great story, been watching Brian for years. I’m so happy the channel didn’t stop. I watch every day and I’m praying I can afford to be there opening day. To have the chance to touch the tree Brian signed or or place my hand with his would be a dream come true
Miss Brian so much but so grateful for him sharing his dream 💖
Miss you Brian. You inspired me and my family so much. We follow daily the amazing build and plan to mak the drive from Simcoe Ontario when it opens. Lori is a rockstar and we love her and the team dearly❤
Thank you for keeping Brian and his legacy in the news it's great to see the impact He is still making on everyone even from the other side he'll be happy to see it all the children the get to learn about sea life thanks to his legacy aquarium.
I started watching his channel when he was 1st diagnosed. I'm not a fan of snakes, but I have had a bearded dragon. Even though I don't want anything to do with snakes. I have watched every video after I was suggested his page. I did that because it helped him and Lori since they will get paid from TH-cam for people watching the videos and liking the video's. When I started watching his channel the way I feel about snakes gradually changed. A few months after he was diagnosed I was comfortable enough to hold a snake for a few minutes. Not the kind of snakes they have since they have some really big snakes and I'm very much not at a place emotionally to hold a big snake. I live in Utah and I would love to see the LegaSea Aquarium some day. RIP Brian.
Thanks so much for doing this story! Brian has helped shape the lives and livelihoods of so many animal lovers (mine included) around the world! Lori and the crew are doing an amazing job making this dream become a reality!
God bless Lori and the fam including the crew. Brian is an amazing soul. And he lives on! Cant wait to visit LegaSea!
love and miss you brian. you inspired so many and we all wish you were still here. Much love from Washington state
Thank you so much for putting this together for Brian's Family, and even though it felt bitter sweet to see this, it was still nice to hear his voice. He was truly amazing! May the Legasea be as great if not greater than Brian's wildest dreams. Just a great big fan ❤
Miss you Brian 💙
Sending good vibes as always to the Barczyk family/crew 💙
Thank you for sharing his story and legacy. What an amazing family. Brian is so missed.
Thank you so much! Thank you for sharing Miss Lori and team's story! They are such incredible people and you spotlighted that very well! God Bless
Made me cry. Lost my aunt to pancriated cancer a few years ago, then we lost brian early this year, this just brought the pain back.
Very nice story, I never knew Brian personally but followed him closely. Lori is a rock star doing what she can to make his dream come true, she has strength that is unbelievable.
Thank you for doing this. We love the whole crew and support them in every way.
It doesn’t matter how many times I see Brian appear on you tube or I see Lori still tear up I feel a tiny bit of her pain and join her ❤
Can’t wait to see the legasea finished and opening. Hopefully one day I’ll get to visit in person x
Saw a Brian’s goodbye and Lori crying and I lost it!! 😭 RIP Brian
Great job guys
Thank you for covering this story. Brian meant alot to me.
Has it really been that long? I still watch the vlog and Lori and the team are doing great at building the legasea. Glad you focused more on his animals than the cancer. Brian was one of the best, and his passion was what made him who he is.
Miss seeing this man on here daily but his crew and Lori are doing amazing ❤
Such an awesome place! Brian did so much and learned a lot from him! Love the reptile army!
What a beautiful package you guys put together honoring Brian's memory and legacy. I've been watching his videos for over 15 years and plan to make the long trip out from California to Utica when the Legasea opens up next year!
It’s crazy that it’s been almost a year since Brian passed away. We definitely miss him.
Animal Con without him was really fun, and his team did great, but yeah there's def a "it's been a year already?"
Rest in peace Brian, been watching the videos before the Reptarium was built, and visited the first time right before things started happening I wish I got to meet you. Happy to see the dream coming all together and can't wait to visit the new aquarium
I miss Brian, having snakes myself, I really enjoyed watching, and learning from him, he is dearly missed. I lost my own father to pancreatic cancer about 10 years ago, when Brian announced his diagnosis, my heart just sunk, I knew the statistics, I prepared myself for the loss of Brian. I wish I lived on that side of the country, so I could go and see his last project ❤
Thank you for this report...from a teary-eyed member of the reptile army living in Virginia.
pfff thanks i watch his channel still as i have been for many years but this video made me ball my eyes out again.. i miss him so much.. such a beautiful human!❤
Thank you for the kind coverage of Brian's dream and the reminder about PC. I pray we find a cure some day soon. We lose far too many people to this awful disease.
I was wondering if I would catch this on the news later. Glad you guys went to visit. This aquarium is going to be awesome. Brian would be so proud.
This was a beautifully done story. RIP Brian 😢❤
We are so excited for this to open. I'm a wildlife rehabber and we have been waiting. I have 2 friends who lost moms to the same cancer. Same thing. 2 months. 😞
He will be missed!!! But leaves behind his Legasea!!!!
Wonderful tribute to a wonderful man!
God bless Brian what a legend sending love from the uk
Brian was truly amazing!!!
Ohhh man, seeing him on live TV after he has passed on just makes you can't help but tear up a bit
I Bought a snake that Brian produced and he is a phenomenal pet. He reignited a love for reptiles I always had. He is extremely missed. Rest easy Brian.
Bless Brian he was such a nice person 🙏🏼❤️
I saw this being filmed on Brian's vlog yesterday, glad I was able to see the finished product. Thanks for the information on pancreatic cancer 💜 and the update on Brian's dream. 🐊🐢🦎🐍🐠🦈🐟
Forever a fan of Brian, his crew at the Reptarium and rooting for Lori and his kids. Sending big hugs to them and I can't wait to see the LegaSea be finished! I follow the daily uploads on their youtube channel for the behind the scenes and they really have come such a long way! it's had ups and downs as all big tasks do, but its getting closer and closer! Please consider supporting them by watching their youtube too if you can't give to the gofundme and want to support somehow!
This year has been so hard. We lost such an amazing person to cancer. In my personal life I also lost my 5 year old dog to bone cancer. 2024 sucks. Rest in paradise Brian and Kota. 💜💛
Our school had an assembly with animals from the Reptarium. The kids were in awe of the crwatures and the animal handlers did a great job educating the children about the reptiles. I can’t wait for Legasea to open! Good luck with your project.
