What do you think of the series - do you like seeing a variety of news in the XR field, or would you prefer it to be gaming-focused news and updates only?
The other way round for me. I like the game news of course, but I love the hardware news. I mean, I think that's who all of us VR folk are at the end of the day; tech dreamers, futurists, sci-fi philosophers. And the hardware speaks to that more so I think. For instance, we all fell in love with the news of Larry Smoot's invention of the tiled floor over at Disney last year. However, it was tainted love. Not just becasue it's large and presumably very expensive, but Disney may never relase it! Now this guy with the VR shoes steps out of nowhere to save the day! Pure drama for us psychonauts!! 😂
Honestly, I enjoy both. I am not buying many/any new games right now, but I do enjoy seeing what’s out there. And I love knowing about the latest tech - again, not buying anything rn, just interested!
VR keeps getting better and better! Thank you for keeping up and letting us know. Glad u mentioned those Freeaim shoes, I wanted u to test and review them a long time ago, I hope u can. Also, I won’t get anymore Rayban products if they don’t improve their transition sunglasses! The AI and camera/video are wonderful, but living in Florida I need dark sunglasses-they barely transition. 🤨
Some interesting VR news, thanks! Those VR shoes are innovative too. Cool when they can adapt more games to VR when done right for VR. AR Smartglasses could be neat.
This is the first news I've heard of Ray bans next smart glasses being AR..... these will be collabed with Meta? Very exciting!! This is what I'm waiting for in this space... AR and smart glasses w a Ray Ban stylish look.
I look forward to you getting your hands on the new VR shoes for review, as I'm in the same situation space-wise but the idea of using shoes like this sounds VERY exciting!
It's going to be a while before qualcomm chips get close to even current pcvr. Especially when the chips are expected to get smaller and smaller. Cloud computing is probably the only way to make stand alone truly viable in the future
For me the vr shoes are a very stupid idea, treadmills do it in a safer, more precise and more comfortable way. Just imagine that the shoes need battery to work, that's already a weight problem, put motors and sensors and you'll have the heaviest shoes on the planet. I would love to see the vr treadmills getting better and more confortable
@@brokenocci I think they will eventually move the battery to your waist, at least it would make much more sense than having the battery on the shoes as it does add weight... motors & sensors do not really add weight. Treadmills are kind of horrible as they take a lot of room, and are really hard to resell because of this. And they also have really unnatural walking style.
Hey you can also Cover the EEG and EMG interactions space that is also gaining traction I mean I am a researcher trying to build a EEG locomotion interface in VR

Isn't that XR2+ Gen 2 kind of old already? The Play For Dream MR is already using it, its not that significant upgrade, just that it can handle 4k 4k displays.
It is, and also, this SoC is not even remotely comparable to the M2+R1 combo. Not that I would ever be excited by standalone processing power. Not only these chips are already weak but they're usually severely underclocked to extend batery life. I wouldn't be surprised if the effective specs of the Quest 3's snapdragon was comparable to a mid-range phone.
@@r.m8146 I have a meta 3 the graphics are by far the best VR standalone I have seen, the chip inside is pretty powerful to give out the clarity and details. Not sure about a mid range phone, sounds like you don’t have a meta quest 3 I am sure you will probably say you do and you have taken it apart and tested the cpu
@@gloomyvale3671 apparently the Pico4 Ultra had almost double the power based on benchmarks from the same chip, so it is probably severely underclocked in q3.
I think you are doing really great, but everything is so fast and rapid fire that I have trouble following let alone absorbing all of the information and the background music is kind of distracting. I would slow down a little. You are very charming and a good person (if you don't mind me saying). Also those VR shoes look kind of dangerous.
Just build a new PC because my old one was 9 years old. Skyrim, Fallout, Subnautika, Vallheim and some other were really playable with the old hardware and a quest 1. Now with the new PC, Half life alyx and No man´s Sky are playable too. Problem is Cyberpunk. Looks with the old Quest like garbage. My favorite headset would be an Index 2, even if, as a craftsman who doesn't move much after work, I would rather sit on the couch with the headset on my head and the controller in my hand, a lighthouse system would be absolute overkill. But the Index is the best one out there in my oppinion and is compatible with everething. If I had the money I would invest in a market that could give "all" people a great VR experience, even the "lazy" people who can't run a marathon after work. If I have a weekend off and want to spend it gaming, I don't want to have to stop after a few hours because my feet hurt. No treadmill and no shoes can offer me that. The tecnology to recognize handgestures are gedding better too. The Matrix is but a dream all VR people are dreaming about.
Hi Tetiana. Using an AI generated thumbnail creates a big disconnect from the video. Seeing such an image I know that everything in it is not in the video so does not represent it well. At first I thought this was some other cheap channel that had made its way into my feed and I almost didnt click on it untill I saw your name in the title. I know these AI images are eye-catching, but they are also very off-putting to me. I enjoy your channel very much and I want you to succeed, so I thought I would offer my opinion for you to consider.
Thanks for your feedback! I’ll consider different designs, which is hard because there’s sooo many news, and it’s always hard to pick the one thing that will catch people’s attention!
Well I have watched several videos on these VR walking shoes and though they sound nice, I think they said the price tag for released product maybe around 1000 dollars. I have size 13 feet, so not sure if they will have several shoe sizes to fit everyone, and not sure if the shoe will go up to size 13. Next thing is how many games work with these shoes and how do they actually connect to each game and work. We shall see.
They stated PS5 Pro wont effect VR at launch BUT there ill be an update later on that does improve VR.... problem is... even if they do improve it its pointless if theyre not supporting or making games for it
I'd say they're like riding a bike or being on a surfboard or something. Not that intense, but I think your muscle memory would adapt so that you instinctively or automatically compensate for its compensations. And maybe the VR scape triggers your brian to brace for that modality kind of thing??
The Quest 3S might be the ultimate upgrade instead of a downgrade that it is being speculated as. If Quest 3S is at a lower resolution than Q3 and has the same graphical horsepower, then it should be able to crush the Quest 3 with better frame rates, textures, and effects. It will be interesting to see how many people want to dump their Q3 for a Q3s.
In my opinion, battery powered stand alone devices will eventually die. That's because PCVR headsets are getting INSANE and their cost is getting cheaper. If you are going to have to eventually buy a gaming PC anyway, why would you waste your money on a stand-alone unit. I think "Meta" will even eventually wake up to this fact as well. And AI is going to bring things to gaming that virtually everyone is going to want to have. Serious AI based games are going to have to be Windows based. The new MSFS2024 soon to release is just going to blow everybody's socks off. And it will start an all new trend in Cloud based gaming. MS is throwing close to a BILLION dollars at this new product. I think they too know where things are headed. An AI based video card turns every gaming PC into a world class supercomputer. And that will change the direction VR goes. That has already started. Pimax is even giving up on the stand alone option.
I’m sorry but I love no wires VR and also the social experiences of meta. PCVR is just games which is cool but not what I’m looking for. Just games get boring after awhile. I think it will always be the same those that game because of best graphics and those that care more about individual features and system support.
Wow. Lot of baseless claims and non sequitur conclusions here. I hate Meta as much as the next person, but what Quest 1 and 2 did for VR, is the same as what the Wii did for casual gaming. Low barrier, cheap, simple fun. It doesn't matter what Microsoft, Google, or Meta throw billions of dollars at. Consumers are the ones who ultimately decide where the market goes. Interest in VR has plateaued and dropped off significantly. A big part of that is because of cost. I love my PC VR setup, but damn was it expensive. The components alone were +$1000... add the monitor, kb&m, and VR headset? Yikes. PS5 is $500 dollars, PS5 Pro will be $700 AND PSVR2 is an additional $550. No wonder Quest 2 dominates the market @ $200-350. Quest 3 is flopping because of how cheap it's predecessor still is. So... even if AI has some magic wand effect on VR, as you suggest, it won't mean a whole lot no one wants to buy in. Lastly, unless game developers actually decide to start making games for VR... It's all just a cool tech demo.
@@mRibbons Don't disagree with much of what you say. But I still say wireless will eventually become secondary to PCVR. I see where AI and unlimited Cloud delivery is going. And it will eventually obsolete wireless VR systems. What is already coming down the pike is totally insane. Wireless simply will never be able to handle that. MS knows that too. So does Pimax and several others.
@@andrebillups4079 I agree with about everything you say. It is your choice. But AI and unlimited Cloud delivery is going to have a major impact. With that I see a swing back to wired PCVR as the system of choice. The people who want the ultimate in scenery and VR clarity are a different set of people who want chatting and move around sport games. Zucky changed because he realized Facebook was his real cash cow. And he has low initial cost fanboys. But high-end gamers will win out in the end. That is my prediction. I think MS and Pimax think that too.
Yeah yeah, expensive tech i poping, but where are games? Multiplayer servers are empty, 300 players per game. Contractors showdown shows 30 players worldwide, in Ghosts of Tabor you cant meet a other player, no AAA games since HL Alyx. Why I need shoes for 3k if there is no game to use it.
Most of us already have Quest 2 for standalone and only care about pcvr headset that is not too expensive from Meta. We all will be happy to pay meta Quest store games if it bring both the standalone and pcvr version
