The vocalist faisal kapadia is from the band strings which ruled the subcontinent for almost 30 years. They concluded the band last year.. their music was the epitome of excellence
The word haya can mean shyness or shame but in this context, it means guarding someone's memory and presence because its too precious to be shared with the world. The world will not understand and simply trivialize the purity of their love.
Really enjoyed your reaction. I got in to Coke Studio about 10 years ago and its been such a musical journey. I wish we had more programmes in the UK which focus on collaboration rather then competition. Favourite Coke Studio piece is probably Kangna, esp seeing the way the singers and musicians play with a complex 10 beat cycle which you don't see that often. Probably not suitable for a reaction video as its quite long but the music is simply stunning
First of all, really appreciate your noble gesture of trying to learn about other cultures outside of the American bubble. Believe me, you'd love the world you'll find here, some of which I could already see as you enjoyed this song:) Welcome to the horizons beyond the western fake news media. Hey Jim, loved your deep dive into Coke Studio Season 14. I’m a new subbie too because I am digging your honest and yet in-depth takes of these beautifully created masterpieces of music from Pakistan. I enjoyed thoroughly your take on Ye Dunya song previously and now on this song. Both are my personal favourites from season 14. I can say so much on this but what I appreciate the most is that you are open to exploring other cultures and their creativity. Pakistan came up with Coke Studio concept actually. I believe it all started in 2008. There have been 3-4 different acclaimed Pakistani musicians who took care of rearranging or reinventing existing/older Pakistani songs with an amalgamation of eastern and western instruments - all to be recorded live in a studio setting with a fresh sound. You can probably hear each and every instrument in there. Believe it or not, each song has been recorded live and in this specific case, this is also a one-shot video. There are behind the scenes videos available too for each of Season 14 songs. You should check them out. So Faisal Kapadia is a legendary singer. He was part of a duo band with Bilal Maqsood and their band (called Strings) reigned Pakistani music industry from 1988-2021. I have grown up with his music. You are absolutely right - his voice is purely soulful and unmatchable. His buddy Bilal sang as well and his voice though starkly different from Faisal’s was a treat for the ears too. They created beautiful music and just recently disbanded as they wanted to end their band on a high note. So amazingly enough, Strings were the first featured artist when Coke Studio Pakistan started in 2008. They went on to feature in most of the seasons thereafter usually recreating their own music but the musician who started the magic of Coke Studio was Rohail Hyatt (band member of another awesome and legendary Pakistani group called Vital Signs). Anyhow, Faisal and Bilal then went on to wear producers hats in 2014 or so and they produced Coke Studio from seasons 7-10 or 11. After the band broke up in 2021, Faisal and Bilal both went their solo ways and amazingly enough, Faisal’s first solo song was here in Coke Studio Season 14. Season 14 means it’s been more or less 14 years since this amazing production started. Many countries around the globe then adapted this series after witnessing the mega success of Pakistani music this way. Season 14 was different because a) the producer changed and Xulfi created a magical experience yet again through it with his vision and group of younger musicians; b) he basically created and produced 13 new tracks - all original and brand new ones which was different than previous 13 seasons ; and c) created each of the songs in studio but with an art production and set design that basically resulted in every new song having a video of it’s own. He’s another genius in Pakistani music. If you notice, the shorter height rapper is the same guy you saw in Ye Dunya song. His name is Talha Anjum. He featured with Karakoram and Faris Shafi there (the one that gave you the Linkin Park vibe hehe). Talha Anjum is part of rapping duo Young Stunners. The tall guy is Talha Younus. Both have a massive fan following due to their raps exuding beautiful poetry and their music resonating with today’s generation. It’s different too because I don’t witness them resort to swearing and/or abusive lyrics but their lyrics reflect philosophy of life in detail. So these youngsters are doing an amazing job at using Urdu rap for their music. Phir Milenge means we shall meet again. It’s pronounced as Pir Mill-angay (I’m butchering this phonetically 🥺). Ironically, it was the last song of Season 14 with a promise from the musicians to meet their audience another time in another season hopefully. You are doing a fab job there. Keep at it. It does take time to understand another language that is from a completely different continent. I was brought up knowing 4-5 languages so for me, English / American music has been a treat to experience but I appreciate the efforts you are putting in at learning another culture’s music at the moment. You should definitely check out all songs of this season. Another favourite is “Go” as it is a combination of Urdu and English poetry. It’s very common for us to mix up different languages and speak them as such so don’t get alarmed with how we may mix Urdu words with English words. It’s second nature to most of us. Btw, one of the songs Mehram is another haunting composition. The female singer of this song is Arooj Aftab who won a Grammy this year for her music. She’s Pakistan’s first Grammy winner. All the best 🤘👍
man i hope Jim don't put break on this magical journey, what would be even better that if Jim can cover Magical Journey of each song as soon as he has listened to each song
Very insightful. Thank you. btw you may have noticed this is one-take video and audio, All Coke Studio (Pakistan) songs are recorded live. They do a number of full takes and choose the best one.
If U look at set of Song They are walking in the spaces or rooms of House connected with each other. When the Rapper lyrics says : the empty spaces are consuming me He talking about house where his lover is not their and house don't feel like house . And you can see in his background there are broken pieces of Mirror on wall. And when the singer sings : There is morning/ light remain in his heart , like hope . You can see he enters area with light and greenery .

This song gives me chills everytime I hear it specially at the end and as you pointed right makes you emotional just from the music even if you dont understand the lyrics which rightly pointed aswell being a Goodbye song title ""Till we meet again"" also title chosen suiting for last song of the season. Should read lyrics and listen to song again u get something new everytime ""Xulfi (Zulfi)"" music producer of this S14 is a genius. BTW maybe you did not notice it was a one take live music recording music, you are listening to music recorded live in same take as the video and this particular song had one take video moving inside the set. Coke Studio tried new music video with new set for each song this season first time, it is a show started in Pakistan 14 years ago with live studio recorded music with videos by genius Rohail Hayyat who left after S6 to came back only for S13, Faisal guy in glasses in this song who just ended his band Strings after 30 yrs and it was his first solo performance (which he only came back on requesst of CS roducer who wrote/composed song for him secially should watch behind the scenes/journey videos to get background) anyways his band Strings produced Coke Studio S7-S11. Coke Studio was later adopted my many countries e.g. India, Arabia, Africa, philipines, Bangladesh, Morocco, Algeria etc. but original one going still strong where others ended after few seasons.
I'd like to listen to your 40 minute breakdown for sure! It adds perspective and helps understand song structures form a different pov of not understanding the language but just the language of music!

There are some english songs in coke studio and nescafe basement We are all looking for your reaction on Pakistani music.
Thank you for reaching Pakisan Coke Studio and appreciating music، Phir Milenge means Till we meet again and it was final song of the season (finale), Faisal kapadia is living legend of Sub continent pop music and Young Stunners are currently too much famous in this generation due to their best lyrical hop hop

This song is the last song of Season 14 Coke Studio and is basically saying good bye to the audience who has been on this coke studio journey in season 14 - till the next time we meet. Phir Milenge means we will meet again.
phir milen ge is the last song of season 14 n phir milen ge means we'll meet again. so all the lyrics are around that now may be you have left or its time to leave but keep the hope alive that WE'LL MEET AGAIN.
Bro that same guy with soulful voice did the song for Spiderman movie as well. I will suggest you to do the Mehram coke studio 14. As the lead singer won grammy this year.
Phir Milenge in Urdu language means, till we meet again or see you later depending on the context. It's a phrase used as farewell in formal settings. This was the last song of Coke Studio Season 14 so you can say it's a farewell song till the next season.
The next 2 guys are one of the finest rappers of Pakistan which are really popular in India too. The 2 guys are a duo and work together as Youngstunners.
Hello Jim by this time you might have learnt a lot about Coke Studio. Coke Studio Pakistan started in 2008 and this song "Phir Milen Gey" (Will Meet Again) is the last song of Coke Studio Season 14 ending the season with "Will Meet Again". All the performances of Coke Studio are live one take videos not like any other video song where sound is recorded separately for the video. That's the main reason for Coke Studio to be so famous.
Hi Jim. I hope you are doing great. I've watched many reaction videos and to be honest , this is one of the best reactions on this song. The way you break it down at the end was great. I would suggest you to watch (GO) which is another masterpiece from this season. Most part of the song is in English and would be easier to understand. Keep it up👍
The word 'haya' is used in many / different contexts. The meaning of 'haya' in this context is not 'shame'. Here it means ' out of respect or love for a person you are discrete, and do not disclose or give away her/his secret in any manner'.
The vocalist faisal kapadia is from the band strings which ruled the subcontinent for almost 30 years. They concluded the band last year.. their music was the epitome of excellence

5:23 modesty would be a better word than shame in that lyric.
"For you I've kept my modesty"
Kindly react to other songs of this season too, your reviews are very interesting. Please react to Go, Muaziz Saarif, Thagyyan, Peechay Hutt, Tu Jhoom and if you want a deeper insight of Coke Studio all these songs have BTS of how they are produced. Thank you for the reactions!
The other two are from young stunners.. talha yunus and talha anjum... the OG's of urdu rap.. they are inspired by legends from the west and poets...give their ep khana badosh a try.. that album will be forever in the museum of desi hip hop

Best thing: every song of coke studio ever is live one take
Phir milenge.. ( will meet again) this is a last song of this season 💔
Beautifully explained...
Faisal from "Stings" is the one who has composed music for Hollywood "Spider Man" 2 or 3 I think
And all coke studio season songs are live Including this and other songs in this season
This was last song of season 14 so they are saying bye. With promise to meet again
Faisal also sung tobby's spiderman 3 sound track ,the legendary band strings

This song was the last of the season so theyre basically saying bye to us the audience until next season
I don't know why they translate it "shame" but the real word is "shy"
Faisal kapadia wearing sun glasses is one of music legend of Pakistan belongs to band STRINGS
Hi Jim. I hope you are doing great. I've watched many reaction videos and to be honest , this is one of the best reactions on this song. The way you break it down at the end was great. I would suggest you to watch (GO) which is another masterpiece from this season. Most part of the song is in English and would be easier to understand. Keep it up👍
wow nice reaction 💚
I wish you knew Urdu bro! It’s just beautiful. I listened to it for more than 1000 times ❤❤❤❤ masterpiece
When you say cadapedia lol 😂😆 it's ok 😂😂
The word 'haya' is used in many / different contexts. The meaning of 'haya' in this context is not 'shame'. Here it means ' out of respect or love for a person you are discrete, and do not disclose or give away her/his secret in any manner'.
Incredible lyrics ❤
people have made 4 hrs reaction videos on these......season 14 is Legendary
Welcome to Coke studio Pakistan 🤗
