Hi. What did you use for control in this setup? I've put together an Arduino-based design and found that it was surprisingly easy to incorporate an IR sensor such that all the controls can be triggered from a little remote control. Interested to see if you have found a better route. I'd also be really interested in your LED specs as I've struggled a bit to get realistic relative light intensities from all the various lights and yours look really good!

Hi ,I have almost finished this kit and wish I tried to add lighting as it makes it come alive .well done !

Thanks, John. When I first added lighting to a kit I started with an easy kit with plenty of space for the wiring, etc. It was the Revell USS Enterprise. From then on I mainly bought kits where I could add lighting to and studied the instructions thoroughly before purchase. Now I add lights to all my kits - one of them is a motorcycle which could be a real challenge for me. All I say is to start with a cheap(ish) kit in 1:24 scale and use that to experiment with.

Hi bud amazing model im doing one currently but struggling for square side markers? What did you use

      Hi Daniel
Thanks for the kind comment. For the side markers I used Rectangle LEDs 2x5x7mm and got them on Ebay from Bright Components as I mainly shop there (Link below). The sides of these LED's can be gently filed to fit.
Good luck with the build and feel free to post a link here if you decide to post a video or pictures.

    Hèy... nice truck... nice description👍
Is it possible to make a rc out of it?

      Thanks. Appreciate your comment.
I'm not really into RC but I have seen on You Tube a truck similar to this that has been done. Whether it was this actual kit I don't know. There is not a lot of space for servo's, etc, as far as I can see.

      Hi Paul
I sourced all of the LED's from Ebay. They are mainly 3mm, 1.8mm and rectangle LED's. I did not take any pictures of this when I built it but I have a DAF rigid that I got for Christmas, which I will be building soon so I may take some pictures as I put that one together.

      Hi Paul.
That sounds good. Best of luck with the interview. I would envy you driving the real thing.
I made an Iveco Stralis cab unit with lighting on its own and took some pictures as I assembled it. Some of them give you an idea of how I added the lights. They can be found here: www.flickr.com/photos/95131586@N07/sets/72157685795524436
Hope this helps you plan ahead. Good luck again. The Maritime cab and trailer unit kit has some great detail. If you do get the kit, let me know and I can give you some information about adding the lights to the trailer, etc.

did you use a lighting kit?

    • @ukbanditkp
      @ukbanditkp  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Adam
No, I didn't use a lighting kit for this. They do them for the remote control sets I know but they would be too restritive for this kit I think.
I mainly used 1.8mm and 3mm round and retangular LED's.
