    Then this is a wonderful video. I host a nearly daily TH-cam podcast to help encourage people to come into ham radio as well as help them find out about products and news and information regarding ham and shortwave.
    I’d like to use this video mostly because of the heart you put into it. It’s definitely there you can see it and feel it. Plus, making such a great call so far away was pretty darn cool too.
    I’ll be sure to credit your video as well as a link to your channel in the description section of the show. Keep putting out the content my friend. We need to grow this hobby.
    All the very best to you mate!

    This is amazing, I’ve got a diamond x200n with the baofeng uv5r and I get about 30 tops. I’ve got to sort me out a 2m and 70 cm radio. I’ve got a yaesu ft450d for hf.

      Well... firstly there was lift conditions, so it is rare to get results like this. As for the UV5R, whilst they are a good radio for some things, they are very low power (they might claim to output 5w, in reality they don't) and they are very easily overloaded. Your antenna has a lot of gain, and I can guarantee that you might miss signals due to overloading. I love my UV5R, but something with a little more power and a lot more selectivity would be good. See you on the bands. Ben

    Hi Ben nice video and I did notice a ft817 in the background which is even more fun on 2m ssb into Europe and I would recommend having a try.

      Thanks for watching. Yes, SSB is my favourite, but after when I am working at my desk I have 145.500 on in the background in case there is anything interesting happening. Steve, thanks for watching the video. Please feel free to subscribe to my TH-cam channel if you want to see more of my videos. 73s

    Love your energy! What collinear do you have? I’m looking into the Diamond X50. (In)patiently waiting my paperwork to come through so I can get my call sign after passing on Wednesday.

    That was awesome hearing those contacts! FM 2m dx is what im trying to get better at. Just picked up a Tram 1480 collinear that i'll have mounted 35 ft off the ground hoping for some better distance. What type of antenna setup where you running? Congrats on those contacts! and thanks for sharing with us. Cheers from the US

    Good job! I wonder what power limit in the UK on 2M/70?

    • @RadioRevG5REV
      @RadioRevG5REV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the class of license. Foundation have 10w, Intermediate have 50w, Full have 400w. I have an Intermediate license now, but this was filmed when I had my Foundation, so I was limited to 10w.
