I was 10 when my mom passed. I recall running around the mortuary and not feeling that she has passed. I kind of know what the kid is going through. But there will be a moment when he will realize that his dad is gone and not coming back. Difficult thing for a kid to understand.

If there ever was a perfect wrestling match in terms of emotion, this has got to be it. Bad guy interferes, only to be taken out by a surprise debutant, the main heel in MJF gets extra heat by taking off the mask of the son who lost his father a few days before, only for the son to get retribution by hitting him, the underdog hitting the finisher, commentator in tears... man, this had everything. The perfect tribute.

Letting -1 take out MJF with the kendo stick was just...so brilliant and touching. He got to take out the biggest bad guy in AEW and help win the match. You can tell how excited he is.
Kudos to MJF for also selling it like a pro and putting Jr. over. Considering he can't really be seen mourning (at least on air), this was a great way to give some love to Brodie and his family by making Jr. the hero. The Being The Elite episode that covers the Brodie Lee tribute (however), does show MJF listening to Eddie Kingston give his emotional pre-show speech to everyone backstage before the show. MJF is closest to the camera with his back to it, but you can tell it's him because of his hair and the mole on the back of his neck. He's the very first one to clap when Eddie finishes his speech. MJF is definitely my favorite wrestler right now and this just solidifies it.

@@trevorfranks69 Yeah, like, before Brodie got the TNT title, they were definitely heels, but once that happened and they started showing off their comedy chops (albeit mostly in BTE and Dark), it started to become very hard to see them as heels and as more and more spotlight got shone on Jon Silver, it became pretty clear that they were eventually going to go face through sheer force of will, similar to what happened with the New Day. At this point though, there's no going back, they're full-on faces now. JR even called Silver a "white-meat babyface" in this match, which is pretty definitive.

Let them walk into the ring first, contributed in spades to one of the finest tribute matches you will ever see, and then had the grace to let John Silver finish it.
