and i'd just like to add...black people have always had the ability to rock out. our roots our in rock..with the blues and such. HELLZ YEAH! I want to be in this, someday.
I've seen the show two times ,and took a group of 15 as a treat from me to them .they ate it up. anyone would love this show .treat somebody.... I love it, going to see it again
This show was amazing! I was fortunate enough to see it during its run on Broadway and I was blown away. It's the first (and probably only) show I've ever really "connected" with. Rebecca Naomi Jones was INCREDIBLE in this show.
I'm not going to lie, I was one of those people who judged this musical on just clips and I was not sure how much I'd like it, but I saw a region production recently at Studio Theatre in DC and absolutely LOVED IT. Loved it loved it loved it. So really, dont be like me, try to go see the whole thing in person!
this show is like the Spring Awakening of this season in a way with the hole ppl not expecting what they end up seeing but this show is so amazing i just love everything about it cant wait to see it agian
I really really wish they'd done this medley for the Tonys. I think including that little bit of Amsterdam in that performance would have made it a lot more enjoyable for a lot of people who didn't 'get' Keys/It's Alright by itself. That being said, I love the crap out out of this show. It's really such an insightful and inspirational piece of art and I am so heartbroken that it closed before I got a chance to see it.
I hate that people judged this show based on little clips they saw, and people seemed to hate the accents. No one would focus on the music. Spike lee agrees with us.
nah ,they paid . I granteed them that the music would take their heads off , and it did! They thank me greatly, for the awareness of good live art. Am going again.
When people ask me what my favorite musical is, I always say PASSING STRANGE. A work of staggering genius.
I totally agree after 13 years I went back and listen to it all over again

You gotta see the whole thing. I dislike most musicals...but this was fantastic!!!
I saw the show last night and Stew is incredible. The whole cast is sexy, sensual and so ridiculously talented!!

They were supposed to do "We Just Had Sex" at the Tonys, but got censored by the prudes.
I love the song Keys come down now and Amsterdam amazing
I can't wait to see it! I love that song!
Its like my first time in Amsterdam...!
LOL. 3:57 "We goin up the stairs?? Fuck!Fuck!Fuck!Fuck!"
This show was really something else! Something in it for everyone. I wish they had done this medley for the TONYS...
she also introduced In the Heights. She's not latino. She's the mediator on the show.
this song was so much more powerful when its live! they need to show the whole cast more, not just who's singing

great music!...weird idea for a musical.but still love it!
yes but hopefully it will make it's way onto video in some way. Spike Lee filmed the final week's performances.
I do admit I hope Xanadu pulls the upset, but for best actor in a musical, I am pulling for Stew!
