wow, he is amazing! im so glad i got to see this at least on youtube! he is so original and doesn't make predictable choices. He also doesn't play it melo-dramatic, which is easy to do. It's sad cuz he seemed to be in the show for such little time or something...
Absolutely. Why did they take that away for the Broadway performance. This is mezmerising in it's simplicty. Just brilliant. Even Lauren's other live versions didn't quite reproduce this beauty.
it's so nice to see these Pre-Broadway performances and notice the changes that they have made through the time. moritz now moves and articulates a whole lot more during DDS. but in this video we can see John's legs stepping down just how it is right now (but with Ilse also doing it at the same time).
One thing that I have noticed: Lauren was the only Ilse to be portrayed as a damaged character. This numb look in her eyes shows that she desperatly needs help, although she's very playful and happy to undercover this fact. The other actresses only brought up the happy and funny side of Ilse. I'm not defending Lauren only because she's part of the OBC, but I only saw the depth of the character on her performance...
No matter how many times I watch this scene my breath always catches when the lights go out and i hear that chord signifying that he pulled the trigger...
John Gallagher Jr. Is the Best Moritz in the world... and Lauren has one of the sexiest sounding voices I've ever heard, along side with original Amneris from Aida (in "every story is a Love Story", Colbie Caillat and Sara Barielles. and there's more... but these women have such beautiful sounding voices it's really amazing... and it's not necessarily the quality of there singing abilties but the sound and how they use that sound.
Sorry, this is a tragic scene, and I like the part where JGJ burns the letter, but after I watched it I just imagined Blake Bashoff doing one of his overexaggerated sitcom reactions while shaking the paper and watching sparks fly from it. If you know what I'm saying, then it is a hilarious image. I love Bashoff though, it's just that he does that sometimes. On the topic of this video, I think that Lauren and JGJ are amazing.
I love John Gallagher Jr and Lauren Pritchard as Moritz and Ilse. I've heard the other actors but they are not as good as John and no other actress can pull Blue Wind like Lauren, they just sound annoying, no offense.
At times I can't stand it when a cast members leaves from a fantastic show. Lauren will be missed =(. She will always be Ilse for me. But goodluck to her in whatever she's going to due next. =)~
All I know is that some girl named Emily (I think) is replacing her. She was at the Pizza Party on Sunday with the cast. (I was not there, but my friend was, and I am jealous haha)
What's that paper he's burning? Is that the letter from Melchi's mom? Oh and does anyone know what Ilse says about "lying on the trash heap"? Cause I didn't hear the bit before.
I love it when Moritz tugs on his blazer. He's amazing!
I am addicted to all things Spring Awakening. It is beyond my control right now.

JGJ = Best Ever. The end.

lauren's so beautiful... she's the best ilse, no doubt.
and JGJ is amazing, of course :)
Whenever I see this in NYC, I cry for the rest of the show!

im kind of glad they cut out the part with him just burning the letter. although i like the idea it just drags this scene a little too long...
