The best thing about listening to Reece (and Steve from the week before) is hearing some of the League of Gentlemen voice mannerisms from the characters they played without them meaning to do it. The pair of them are genius actors and script writers
I suppose there was a bit of black comedy licence as Reece was playing him e.g. when he repeated the same speech at the second wedding. The man he played though should have gone to the gallows.
It's a shame Brydon kept interjecting with annoying bits and impressions that prevented Reece from finishing any stories. The Ronnie Corbett Edinburgh story is completely abandoned cos Rob keeps interrupting. Also repeatedly making weird comments about Reece's body language - what's that about? And the bloody whispering! He's got zero mic etiquette from someone who works in media, clearly due to chronic Pandemic Podcaster syndrome. "Quick! I need a podcast too! Hire a company to set it all up and I'll just sit there and be irritating"
One of the best and cleverest episodes of Inside No.9 was 'Once Removed' and the funniest character was Percy played by David Calder. Closely followed by Steve P's estate agent character. Uncannily like Ted Rogers.
I think he said elsewhere it’s something he’d like to return to but he thinks it’s reflective of his mindset at the time (going through a divorce in real life) and he doesn’t know if he has it in him to do it again. Darkness doesn’t come naturally to him, apparently!
The angriest episode of Inside No 9 I can think of was the referee episode. And ironically, Reece played the least angriest character in that one, which made it funnier for me.
I love car share and I've watched them many times but not as many as the episodes reece shearsmith and conleth hill are in which crack me up everytime 😅
"I'm too good". "Yes that's what we've realised" hahaha G'day Rob and Reece. The League may never be equaled. It was such an awesome show. To this day my Father and I ask each other if "insert random person" is local. Thanks for the great interview guys.
I thought Reece was being honest with his reason for not casting Rob in No.9. I was thinking myself, you just couldn't get away from the fact it's Rob Brydon. Unless he could do an exceptional job of removing all trace of himself.
I have an idea for a Christmas or other charity special Inside No. 9 that you can have. In the right creative hands it could be epic. It's set at the BBC and requires at least 4 famous comedy duos. Hit me up, Rob; I promise if you use it, they'll find a role for you.
'Its not about you' is surely an Ollie Plimsolls line.

Shearsmith has impeccable pickup and return on any prompt, with delicious delivery. A true professional.
Reece in car share... very funny especially outtakes.... here comes the hotstepper all the lyrical dance flap. 😂😂😂
He used to sing that many moons ago.
The outtakes of that make me piss my pants , so funny
@@bullbandit2799 In Okinawa
@@bullbandit2799He was a very naughty boy to this song, in Okinawa 😂
@@lisagillam5785 OO-HOO! PUMP THIS UP!
Rob really captured Reese in just 4 words. It’s a bit Ollie from Legz Akimbo.
I love the way rob is unhurried, confident, insightful. Very happy in his own skin.
Mr Shearsmith in widower was fantastic truly scary and the comedy just hilarious.
I don't remember any comedy in 'The Widower'
@@charliekane135 oh it was too subtle for some people...

Reece is an utter genius!

This podcast puts a smile on my face when I watch it first thing, and I'm not a morning person! Life affirming and lovely stuff.
two legends!! what a treat
I'm not ashamed to admit Reece Shearsmith is my secret 'thinking woman's crumpet' crush.
Yes 🙌 😂
Me too....❤ ( and he always has been)
I'm not surprised!
same, i find him really attractive and I love how furious he always is lol

I love Rob's impersonations. I have a favourite but I won't set him off 😆
Whoever did the typography for that logo is very good at their job.
Loving these podcasts Rob. Best thing on TH-cam!
Lol
More League Inside goodness. Thanks Mr. Brydon.
Wonderful stuff Rob, thank you
Human Remains is genius and it is such a shame Rob doesn't write any more. He and Julia Davis need to get together again.
agree, one of my all time faves

This is a great interview but as a follow up I would heartily recommend Reece talking to Richard Herring on his podcast. Which was also excellent.
I love Reece ❤
disproportionately charming! thanks guys, loadsa fun!
Great interview.
I think Rob should appear as himself on Inside Number 9, like Lee Mack did. Thoughts?....
Yes, exactly! Some banal panel show gone awry 🤭
Rob you are a legend. Love LofG and Gavin and Stacey so double thumbs up

Geoff Tipps Spinoff show when?
The tubes! The tubes!
You know I've got this gun?!
I'm going to LONdon.... To do comedy!
@@DilbertWhitehead Clever London people... Big mistake that, big mistake...all that Reliant Robin stuff.
"It's not about you..." I think it was in that drama when he played a healthworker who murdered his wife, set in Scotland, a few years old now.
I’m sure he said it. Ollie Plimsoles. Leg’s Akimbo sketch. Drury Lane

Rob's Reece Shearsmith impression had shades of Brian Clough.
OMG YES!!!
I watched Reece before Pemberton! What does that say?! Love all three of you!
Great interview!
Can you turn up the volume of Robs microphone? I can't hear him when he's not shouting! Otherwise - loved this - was very entertaining 😎✌❤
Reese does say "it's not about youuuu" on a stage interview.
Reece lovely and self deprecating.
I was lucky enough to see the producers with Nathan Lane and Lee Evans but I would have loved to have seen Reece in it
I thought Reece was being honest with his reason for not casting Rob in No.9. I was thinking myself, you just couldn't get away from the fact it's Rob Brydon. Unless he could do an exceptional job of removing all trace of himself.
I really enjoy these chats
Steve and reece are absolutely fkn geniuses ❤ TLOG PSICHOVILLE & INSIDE NO 6 absolutely fkn MASTERPIECES 👌
Agree! I think Psychoville is very underrated, though
League of Gents: the greatest comedy programme of all time
I saw the Producers at Drury Lane (John Gordon Sinclair as Bloom though) and it was frigging ROASTING, another great Mel Brooks observation
John Gordon Sinclair, there's a blast from the past. Last time I saw him was in an episode of Marple from about 10 years ago.
I did see Reece Shearsmith in the Producers. On the day I saw it, it was 'frigging ROASTING' too!
thanks Rob, got a like for the coogan impression, on point, thanks Reece for being dark and funny as heck.
Rob please dust off the human remains stuff. The world needs more of you and Julia.
I love reece shearsmith
Rob should revive his traffic warden character from Lock Stock for Inside No9. F-ing hate traffic wardens. 😂
Reece in Catterick. Now that was great series.

Would have loved to have directed 1 episode of Inside Number 9. Sad its ending.
And then they went on to cast Lee Mack… nothing like running salt into the wound 😊
Appliance Repair of the Rich and Famous
'i feel about him like i used to feel about terry wogan' haha no laugh from reece. clearly fatigued ;) two comic legends in one room always a treat.
It's not about yooouuu!🤣
And to think Jeffrey Epstein lived at No 9 (East 71st Street) in NYC. What a dark episode that would have made…
waiting for the inside no 9 episode where rob plays himself
The ending 🤣🤣
Why does he say 'he was very craven'? It doesn't seem to make sense in that context.
5:24 Who are they talking about here?
Alexander Armstrong
@@SueDenimDomDenim Thanks!
Me too dude, me too. 😂
What about an Inside No 9/ Marion and Geoff crossover? For Comic Relief?
(as in; a relief from comedy)
Tell us more about the washing machine.
I think he could do that in the form of a jaunty song entitled ‘Miele auto-dose blues’.
I love my F and P washing machine NZ company.
Most people have to wait longer for tradies hrs
Went to see a comedy show and it was way too hot! Spoilt the night for me
You're my wife NOOOW!
I bet they asked barry from eastenders
Sounds more like Brian Clough
👍🖤🏴
Just watched 'In The Dirt' . . . It was utter rubbish . . . But Reece was pretty good in it.
You mean " In the Earth". Yes, I agree, Reece was amazing in his role.....👌
I do love these interviews but maybe spend a little less time talking about yourself and more about the guest.
Scoo beef has anybody got a bokkle of orange joof!?
It's gone HAL, you have Reece Sheersmith and HAL calls people Dave? AI speaking like Papa Lazarou.

Oh, please please please, let me get what I want, Lord knows it would be a 4th series, of the league of gentlemen! 🫵🫣🫵🐐🐓🦜🧑🦽🐖👩❤️👨🌈🥹 x
