What sets her game apart? Martina Navratilova said in commentary that she has the best return of serve she's ever seen, excepting only Serena. That means she has chances in almost ever receiving game. Add a solid serve (I think she gave up 9 breaks in 10 matches) and you have an intimidating, demoralising game for any opponent to handle. But that's not all - she has a high tennis IQ and the skills to implement her strategy. If all 4 countries claimed Emma to be theirs whether it's nationality, ethnicity, heritage, country of birth, that is 1.5 billion people that she can market to. Expect loads of sponsorship and endorsements!!!!
Ok, first of all, very well done Emma!! 🤩 👏. But secondly, can people just shut up about her race? She’s playing for Britain, she’s lived in Britain since the age of 2 and has British nationality. Loads of people classed as British have different backgrounds. Just shut up all of you. Why does race have to be even brought up??? She’s the US open champion ffs. That’s what matters here.
Her race should be highlighted. Mixed race Britons are under represented in the public eye and she has a potential to be an inspiration to a lot of people who do and who do not look like her. We should also be proud that this is a wonderful example of what modern Britain can be,
Interestingly, the colours of her outfit were red, yellow and blue ( her sport shoes were white). The national flag of Romania is coloured in red, yellow and blue. China's flag has red and yellow. Great Britain and Canada add white to blue and red... All the lucky colours, I guess... Anyway, congrats to Emma for her victory, and to Emma's parents and her home country, Great Britain, for nurturing such a talent! Greetings from Romania!
She's a fabulous (and very confident and articulate) new talent and I look forward to seeing her battling it out for years to come against the likes of Fernandez and Andreescu but why this obsession with the nationality of tennis players? Arguably Canada, Romania and China can also stake a claim in Raducanu's victory as well as Britain/England. This sort of thing goees back decades; Virginia Wade was born in England but grew up as the daughter of a senior church prelate in apartheid South Africa before moving back to England at age fifteen (hence her South African accent). Most of the top tennis stars often seem to have a very broad international background. And besides, Raducanu's a very privileged young woman whose parents made shed loads of money in the finance industry and money obviously helps massively for success in modern international tournament tennis so to talk of her as some sort of inspirational or motivational icon for most youngsters in Britain is a tad fanciful and unrealistic. It's like saying anybody can become an Olympic showjumping champion if they just put their mind to it. The great thing about Raducanu is that even if she doesn't maintain this remarkable and genuinely praiseworthy success, she could choose to follow Wade's example and get herself a couple of university degrees as well; she's already proving that she's an extremely academically able young woman. I hope she gets some really good protective management to fend off the hoards of merchandising locusts who are no doubt already swarming in her direction.
Congratulations!! A real journey now begins as defending champion. Rookie took over the show. Hope please check score line of this entire women's tournament. The class & quality have taken a nose dive. Not taking away anything from this amazing player but there was no zest & ZERO fight. It says & speaks about the quality of US open. Just because it's US it does not automatically vouch for a quality. I hope she continue her sublime form in Wimbledon & other courts just like a beasts NJ & RF. What surprised me how Layla reached finals, when your racquets hitting floor, squandering smashes, ghastly serves as if walked to play finals carrying with self destructive button. After all these years if they cannot serve & defend their services there is immense opportunity for many rookies to win titles.

So proud of you Emma 👏 I am not a tennis fan and do not have any understanding of it but OMG I was glued to the tv and the emotion when you won WOW! you are living the dream so many young talented people out there need encouragement and you have certainly done your bit.
The goverments should take note and do more to help others to live their dream.
I bet you were proud when you voted the Brexit to and when you voted inequalities between English people like you and Foreigners like Emma …
@@noidea843 your name suits you. You have no idea!
@@JH-si9oe if you are so smart and I doubt it explain me how a government who is senting off and discriminate the foreigners from this country can give an award to a FOREIGNER!!!!
Is just So pathetic!!!!
@@noidea843 she is not foreign she is British and you should be proud of her not jealous of her achievement!
@@JH-si9oe who said is jealous???? Of course I am happy, cause I am watching tennis for 30 years not like you …
And every title will win from now it will be another slap on the cheek for all this BREXIT RACISTS VOTERS FROM UK!!!!!
Try to think how many of RADUCANU are stoped in this moment on the borders from your BREXIT …
Well done Emma you are an inspirational young lady all the best for the future from Scotland
Hello Caroline, how are you doing ?
Steffi Graf in the making. History beckons Emma. Star is born.
Nope. She’s Emma Raducanu - First of Her Name - Destroyer of records - Inspirer of any sports fan. She doesn’t need to be a version of anyone else.
Absolutely amazing Raducanu 👍👍👍
PLUS she doesn't grunt.
What an incredible story. I don’t think the average fan can fathom the magnitude of her win given she was a complete unknown. I hope she keeps away from social media to an extent. There are too many negative people out there.
She one of our own, she one of our own Emma Raducanu, she one of our own. 😊

What a smile.Gosh a letter from the queen? Can you imagine the reception she will get when she returns to the U K?I hope Pierce will issue an apology to her as he has egg on his face when he prejudged her at the Wimbledon performance
Congrats to Joe Salisbury (GB) for winning both men's double and mixed double US Open title.

For those who say she isn't British because she was born in Canada... Boris Johnson was born in the US... Joanna Lumley was born in India... Spike Milligan was born in India... would you say they aren't British as well then?
The difference is that she didn’t has to face the BREXIT and to see how people with the same nationalities of her parents are not allowed to have the same rights like the other people
People migrate. Has always been the case. Or are we all African??
So you'd say Joanna Lumley is Indian then?

I presume you have some sort of qualifications in order to state that?
It might be more useful to ask what passport she used. It might determine with which nationality the girl identifies with.

Wonderful to see rising talented players of Asian descent: Naomi (Japanese), Leylah (Filipino) and Emma (Chinese)!
Emma 😍
Emma!!!!
You were totally amazing!!!!
Yes! I watch her matches so many times! The way she crushes opponents is amazing! Towards the end she completely breaks her opponents physically, mentally emotionally! Look at the sheer power of her arms and her shots! If you see her strength training routine it is just scary!!
She's made Britain proud, and has done more for our country than any of the sad little racists seething in the comments, well done and go GB!
She's Romanian and she even chose to wear Romanian colours. Why do we have to lie to ourselves?
@@frdsg8350 Raducanu was born on 13 November 2002 in Toronto, Canada, to Ian and Renee, who originate from Bucharest, Romania, and Shenyang, China, respectively.
She attributed her mentality and ethics to her tennis idols Simona Halep and Li Na
FRDSG she grew up in Britain from the age of 2. She has a British passport and is playing for Britain. You can’t change that, so why do you people constantly go on about her background??
@@oliverek7Because she's not white enough for their liking, they do the same thing by saying London is 45% British when what they actually mean is 45% white.
@@oliverek7 if a two Nigerians give birth to a child in Japan, their baby is not Japanese. To refer to their child as a japanese baby is ridiculous. Do you disagree with that?
I'm as delighted as everyone else to see Radacanu win the US Open but I'll be VERY interested to see if her renewed mindset copes next time when she is a set down and a break to someone in the future. I'm sure it was that which caused her panic attack on court at Wimbledon when she knew she was losing control and the dream was fading quickly. She didn't lose a set this tournament which sent her confidence through the roof. Can't wait to see her one day fighting back from behind rather than leading from the front.....THEN if she overcomes that mental challenge (which I think she will) I reckon we really do have a new superstar in the women's game!
What an incredible achievement

The important thing for Emma now is to get the best sports medicine to stay injury free until her body finishes developing. If she stays injury free she will be a great champion no doubt about it.

Disappointing behavior indeed.
Emma stayed cool and finished her off like a true champion
She was like a child 😒 crying and sobbing when not getting her way
One the stand out out things for me about Emma was it looked like she scared to fail. She looked like she was never to hard on herself. Long may that continue.
I have never seen this much charisma in a tennis player before. Apart from maybe Roger.
NO. She doesnt have charisma. She is cute only.

Quite. Emma went to school and is educated ... so completely unqualified to be one of these TikTok type influencer types.
CONGRATULATIONS EMMA RADUCANU 👏 ❤ 💖 💙 💕 ♥ 👏
Ok, first of all, very well done Emma!! 🤩 👏. But secondly, can people just shut up about her race? She’s playing for Britain, she’s lived in Britain since the age of 2 and has British nationality. Loads of people classed as British have different backgrounds. Just shut up all of you. Why does race have to be even brought up??? She’s the US open champion ffs. That’s what matters here.

agree. emma is definitely British. Love her.
well said
Her race should be highlighted.
Greetings from Romania!
really nice girl and very humble
Speaks Mandarin/Romanian/English and a winner. A British star is born.
The system works. What a great country UK it is!
She brought tennis "home " UN like are over paid footballers.
After all these years if they cannot serve & defend their services there is immense opportunity for many rookies to win titles.
rarely watch tennis especially womens and I'm female but it was just mind-blowingly awesome! what a beautiful girl too, amazing match! so happy she won as didn't like her openent grinning when she lost a point near the end a few times and the fact she looked happy when she hurt her leg..
Congratulations EMMA🎉🎉👍👍👍🍀🍀
