I don't care what the critics say, the music alone made the movie 10x times better, and only Hans can do that.
Never listen to what critics say about a movie. They are a bunch of idiots, that don't understand that an entertaning movie is a good one.
I'm a huge fan of X-Men and specially Jean Grey but this movie was shit. The one good scene is the opening scene in Space, and even that scene is tough to accept cause Mystique is the leader of the X-Men in it.

I will miss this franchise. It started so well with First Class. Fassbender was a revelation as Magneto.
The franchise didn't started with First Class. It started with X-Men in 2000. But I guess being a millennium you wouldn't know that.
@@yuankun99 First, you know exactly what I meant. There was a clear distinction between the initial X-men movies that ended (horribly) with Last Stand and the advent of First Class. Second, not sure where the edgy millennial comments come from seeing as they were born in the 80s and would even have grown up with even the animated series. In fact if I made bad assumptions such as yourself the 99 in your handle probably points to a higher probability of you being a post-millennial who should not really have an opinion of the quality of any of that given the lack of understanding of source materials. I'll miss these films too. They missed as often as they hit, but they were better overall than the first three. And three of the four even recognized that there were characters not named Wolverine.

Come on man, soundtrack for the first X-men movie is just classic. It is as classic as doctors Dre’s chronic album. The best. It’s was the only soundtrack that got really close to the X-men cartoon.

Because the movie didn't start with traditional opening credits I kept wondering all throughout who composed this incredible score and then I see Hans Zimmer's name at the end credits and I thought to myself "of course".
First superhero movie I ever saw was X-Men, they mean so much to me. They taught me that it's okay to be different, and that there are people who love you for who you are. So sad to see it end. And never forget: MUTANT AND PROUD! Thank you guys for all the good rides.

I WATCHED DARK PHOENIX 6 TIMES at Theather in 6 days straight --- and I kept the 6 tickets to prove it. Proudly. That's the movie I watched the most in 2019. Here in Brazil this film got TOP 1 leading the Box Office for weeks.
Not a very good movie, but not anywhere near as bad as the critics panned it to be. Zimmer's OST was the jewel.

Zimmer knew how to make a score that would fit well with the story. He delievered something more powerful, and brought the emotion of it all together.

Reminds me a wee bit of "Planning" from Inception and a little bit of Batman Begins also when he plans....and certain elements of "King Arthur" & "Da Vinci Code/Angels & Demons",

Hans Zimmer is just amazing! This film had the makings of being really good. It just needed more. The screenplay felt like a first draft.
This is one of the best score of i ever heard in a superheroe movie, Hans Zimmer did an amazing job with this new chapter of the x men franchise, i love the dark tone of the music, you can feel it, and this last track it´s very emotional and simply beautiful. Hans is a mastermind

Hanz zimmer is and will be remembered as one of if not one of our modernised greats, his music like Motzart, brathoven Etal in classic music, Lisa Gordard did gladiator with him, and others I've heard in our present time are outstanding, yet hanz zimmer comes to mind when music comes together with film, and many more will be studied by generations to come. What a time to live in, he's taken for granted allot, but his music is always fresh, he always looks for new sounds and ways to implament them

Thanks a lot for the extended version of this. Dark Phoenix has become one of my favorite Hans Zimmer scores and the Xperiments album was truly special and underrated as well.
The cast saved the movie errors that are clear. But it's not nearly as bad as they said it was. I loved it. Watched three times and can't wait for the digital release. Second favorite x-men after Days of Future Past!

The X Men Franchinse is ending. That makes me so sorry. I loved that franchise and believe it needs more love. So real quick I'll say it-good bye farewell beloved heroes. I will miss you all especially Wolverine, Magneto, Jean Grey, and Nightcrawler, and my boy Beast. Thank you everyone at Fox and Marvel Studios for creating this franchise. You created a legacy that I hope will last a life time. There was a magic to those characters, and plots. And I hope that newer even greater X Men movies are in store. I'll miss it terribly. I don't care if Disney is buying it-they'll never make the movies the same way. They never do. The Dark Phoenix was a nice ending to this amazing Franchise. It started and ended well. So once more-thank you, thank you, thank you. The acting in all of them was amazing, the plots in all of them in the end were amazing, and the characters were amazing. And the music was phenomenal. Over all a glorious time for the X Men. And so-Coda, and Adieu my friends.

These two pieces and the amped-up DaVinci Code Theme Via Armageddon Theme Via ('Sunshine') Adagio In D-Minor Theme Bombastic Variant played in the beginning of the film are all hauntingly beautiful and magnificent. The rest of the score was competent and served it's purpose but felt angry, aggressive, confusing, non-melodic and is definitely NOT what I listen to Hans Zimmer for or expect from him. The movie wasn't bad, it just wasn't as detailed and big as Fans of original Comic and TV Series are used to. Nonetheless, I think they hit all the right Spiritual, Cosmic Mystery, and Emotional Notes as best as they could. Additionally, they were limited by lack of Audience and Character Bonding Time and the subtle shift in formula that took place between Original Trilogy and First Class Quadrogy.
Why do I keep coming back to this soundtrack... Actually all of Zimmer's recent DC soundtracks (lol)

Hans Zimmer is amazing. I just watched this movie for the first time and didn’t know he scored the OST. I could definitely tell once I heard this song tho. It sounds just like his “Time” from Inception. One of my all time favorites from him. This is basically a remix of it.

I personally loved Dark Phoenix so much music and scenes. For me I never really watch movies for entertainment nowadays but for my education. What youll find with this movie its for the Spiritual Community more than Not. As anyone who's an Empath will Self Identify with the Dark Phoenix. Absorbing energy, having heightened sense of life and death. Being prepared to fight for your own Life for the Love of FAMILY.

There is, unexpectedly, one more bit of 'Dark Phoenix' OST material that we might consider incorporating into the Extended Coda Compilation to Extend + Enhance even more! Zimmer and Company released a Follow-up Album (Xperiments In Dark Phoenix Soundtrack) of final unused materials and/or score prototypes that they never got to the final stage for use. However, though most of them are (I think!) basically Techno-Crap -- of the type that belongs at a Gay Club Dance Floor on a Saturday Nite -- there is one piece which delivers the 'Chevaliers De Sangreal' SOARING LIFT that the Coda needs. This movie was a decent watch but there is something I feel they didn't do quite right. I wish they would have done a better job showing just how powerful Jean actually was. I saw she was very powerful, but not powerful on a cosmic level.
This Movie was called Dark Phoenix and they only used the word Phoenix ONCE in the whole movie and never explained anything about the Phoenix force. Fox is always ashamed and embarrassed to embrace the comics.
At least the music was good though.

The most generic and cliché villains of any movie ever.. Would have been so much better if they focused on the actual Dark Phoenix and Jean Grey's struggle for power.. having both a villain and heroine.. Rather than the overdone alien invaders..

Great movie... sadly ruined by awful casting choices for Cyclops and Jean, who needed to be a couple you rooted for and were emotionally connected to. Sophie Turner has nice legs (which are not on display here) but sadly cannot act. At all. Bad choice for a character who needs to grip the audience and make you care about her and agonize over the choices she makes.
