This is GREAT! The first thing anyone needs to do after moving to 1.5 is watch this video. Most of the problems I've seen on line would be solved if they click on this video and go to 24:11.
Great info just updated to the latest firmware but I am missing my sound files how do I get them to work? The sound files are listed but I can't activate them. Have missed enabling something?
Adam ......Thank you for all time you put into your videos , they are priceless with this new 1.5, Is there any way you could increase the audio . I use hearing aids and I am having a problem with your audio level Best regards Steve (I have the audio at max on the playback)( I am on my 3rd time viewing your great video)
I have a new x20pro coming and it should be here tomorrow. Before i do anything, should i update it to this new update? Im worried that learning will be difficult since there are no videos on setting models up and such with this current software.
It's worth updating right away if you are new to ETHOS. Model Setup is not that much different, there's some new screens in the New Model Wizard, but they can be ignored in favour of just doing it like the older versions.
You need to have a Lua script installed of the correct type. Lua sources only show up if there is a Lua script that provides a source. Lua Widgets and Lua System Scripts don't cause that menu item to show up.
You can replicate the old Var mix behaviour with weights and a source of Max, but by using the Free Mix with a VAR as a source, you gain access to all the new VAR functionality (notably persistent adjusters, which is great if using this for selectable gains or camber presets)
Hi Addam it's Tony here, iam having an isue I thought you might be able to help with,I have an x18se with 1.5 on it and iam trying to set up a archer sr8 plus reciver, the reciver has been updated and the sxr luas have been installed on my radio, the modle set up is cool and the lua let's me calibrate the reciver but in the stab screen in the lua it won't let me turn it on,when I try it stays on off for some reason, and the switch on channel 14 to change the mode doesn't seem to work either can you help me thanks in advance
This is probably a firmware to Lua mismatch. make sure you have the latest Lua and the latest firmware versions. Old firmware and new lua or old lua and new firmware won't allow you to enable stabilization (also using Device COnfig->SxR setup with the new receivers will have this behaviour)
you are wrong i have a archer sr6 and it does not work in the sr6 set up in the wizard, that sr6 is accst the archer sr6 access i tried to use that sr6 and it would not register the rx or bind 1.5 has been nothing but junk
I think you're misunderstanding what the Wizard does and doesn't do. The Wizard configures the mixers for the model. It does NOT affect anything in RF System,. including protocol selection. The S6R and Archer SR6 use the same channel layout (Gain on ch9, Flight modes on CH10 & 11, Panic on Ch12) so if you pick S6R, you will get correctly configured mixers for an Archer SR6. You will still have to configure your RF System menu to bind to the receiver you are using, regardless of what receiver you pick in the Wizard.
The Lua script has nothing to do with setting up the mixers for the receiver. The Wizard sets up the mixers on model creation, that's it. The Lua script is used to configure the stabilization system in the receiver, for an Archer Plus, TD or TW stabilized receiver. The Archr SR6 is setup using Device Config->SxR, not the Lua script. The Lua is for the newer receivers only.
A Var is a set of selectable, persistently adjustable values that can be used as a source. These replace VAR Mixers and OpenTX GVAR's, but can also do things like create multi-position switches with arbitrary values

Thank you sir! Great cheese location and intro to new functionality! Excellent support as aways.
Glad you like it!
Thank you very much on this video, great work there. Lots of appreciation to all people making Ethos great 👍

Hi Steve, I'll check my Audio normalization levels and see if I can address that

Why can’t i see the LUA sources after installing 1.5.1 on a x18se?
You need to have a Lua script installed of the correct type. Lua sources only show up if there is a Lua script that provides a source. Lua Widgets and Lua System Scripts don't cause that menu item to show up.
Hi Adam, is there any advantage using Free mix with Vars as source or did V1.5.x just do it for migration purpose. thnx

Adam - why don’t you have a TH-cam “Thanks/buy me a coffee/beer” option?
I do! There's a Ko-Fi link in my About section

It does not work they my archer sr6 I had to go a whole other direction to get it to work lua script work much better and easy

What is a "Var"?

Thank you! 👍
You are welcome!
Will this be available for the x20s?
It's available for all ETHOS-compatible radios, even the older Horus radios.
Thank you for the response! Where can it be downloaded from?
...😜👍
Thanks!
