Never thought I'd see myself listening to a brass band. Artic wolves --> OR-7 aka Journey the wolf --> searched for Journey the wolf, saw this, love it. This conductor is sick also, school music teacher was an arsehole, probably put me off, bet he was a crap conductor as well. But I can just about feel this conductors actions piercing through the air in front of him. Awesome.
I believe this work has been chosen for the British National Championships in the Albert Hall in 2016. Over the past decade this competition has used a number of contemporary works and, in my opinion, most of no worth and one or two very poor indeed. They are often just a mess of notes with screaming euphoniums which give me acute indigestion. Simon Dobson's JoaLW is.........well, truly.....and, honestly...... refreshing and superbly done. Lovely structure, well-rounded, and shows great talent. Love the comic touches and the quasi-cadenzas are wonderful. Further, this work will play well in the hall. Often works are chosen that simply do not take into account the acoustics of this historic venue - I'm confident the Wolf will sound marvellous - just booking my trip to London on the basis of this music - many thanks Simon. To the band a hearty congratulations for an excellent reading and performance, but some of their chairs are over the line!!!.

Carolina Crown
What band is this or did I miss something?
brass band Willebroek from Belgium
BBW
bruh tf trombone is that
I think principal cornet is weak considering you is resting like every 2 beats
Probably doesn't add that much to the music to double what someone further down the line could do when splitting a note on the end is devastating
