Since most communities are 'over policed" this will give them respite.

Local guys will cover for them. All have mutual aid pacts for situations like this.

I have seen other counties support ours during a procession and funeral. Even other state officers can assist when needed! When I was serving with my local sheriff's office we had a death of a long time deputy, officers normally off duty would come into cover the deputies, and would cover for the man's squad as they paid respect to our fallen deputy, This mutual aid agreement also is used by fire departments and local police departments.
