My clutch died last week...After watching your vidéo I got parts from an online store and changed it today. Got interrupted by heavy rain while installin the driver axle. Thanks for your vidéo, would not have done it if I had not watched it 🤘

Just what I was looking for! With the lack of clutch replacement videos this one is super helpful. Keep up the good work.

Driving my '98 CRV yesterday, I noticed that the shifter resisted me shifting into 1st and 5th. Clutch release is still happening near the floor as it pretty much always has. I came here to see what my mechanic would be up against (if it's the clutch), and hence, the likely cost. I think this will be relatively expensive (but still dirt cheap compared to every other car I own) 😄. I am in love with my CRV. It is the goto vehicle when I have to venture into a muddy field that would defeat my 4WD pickup in an instant. Thanks so much for the video!

Great video as usual. I too have a lift and used to do trans work the same way. I finally bought a tall hydraulic trans jack and let me tell you, it makes it a lot more enjoyable most times. I will also be doing this job to my RD1 soon.

$700! That's awesome! I hope I can scoop up a couple of more RD1's for a bargain price. BTW, while I was listening to this new video I just completed the rear drum breaks. For someone like me who's never done it before it can be tricky. Thanks for the video.

Just a heads up. These are just like a ek when pulling apart. On my manual rd1. ( I too also have a lift) I found it's easier to just unhook the wiring harness from ecu, pull it out from under the battery, then disconnect body harness on driver side and power steering connector. Remove axles, exhaust, torq mounts, motor mounts, Drain coolant and drop whole motor out the bottom. The manual rd1 trans is heavy. Good content

When I put the seal in behind the torque converter I put red lock bolt lock so it don't pop out I've had it done before.

I just had an auto to manual swap done on my 99 crv 4wd. I bought an Exedy clutch kit from RockAuto and a generic "recommended brand" flywheel from them too. Used manual transmission from a dismantler, new axles and seals. When I start accelerating gaining speed in second and third gear I sometimes get a pulsating vibration around 2500 rpm normalizes after 3500 rpm (depends also how hard I accelerate) which creeps and fades from time to time. I'm suspicious of the flywheel but not sure since it's new (but made in China), anything you would recommend? I was thinking of having it resurfaced or replace it all together if it comes down to it since I will be replacing the engine due to my timing belt snapping on me just recently. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Ant benefit of pulling the whole motor/trans then doing the clutch?

Find a paved surface so you aren't working in dirt. Have some good jack stands, you got this💪🏼
