Hi, great video, just wondering can you still side slip the Carbon Cub when it is on floats or would the extra drag on the floats make the aircraft spin if you tried to side slip it?
Jesper Andersson he was lowering the water rudders. They are connected to the rudder system in the airplane. They should be retracted for take-off and landing so they don't get ripped off. They are used to taxi around on water.
Justin Blackner Yeah that makes sense, thanks, should have figured it out but have never seen that type of activation before, i guess the water rudders are springloaded in the downposition and the wire hold it against the springs while it hangs of the instrument panel (i could be wrong). Love the simplicity.
So the backseat guy mentioned that you can land on grass and dirt with wheels down, could you also land on a paved runway as well, or is that not advised?
on amphibs - yes Gears down. ... you could land on soft grass with the gears up too. wouldn't recommend pavement but, the aerocet like most amphibs have a very strong Keel.
@@ohwell2790 Why don't you compare 3:58(up) to 6:35(Dn), then go back for your biannual. The water rudders are at the aft end of the floats. More than 1/3 of the rudder is above the deck in the up position.
paul im 55 years old always loved flying where can i go to get licenceing for a cub i really want one and have a cabin on donner lake in truckee calif can you help!!!
My eyes looked like golf balls when I saw that avionics package at 5:22
Good video. Thanks for sharing.
I am wanting one of these to explore the Caribbean and film videos. I wonder how the aircraft would hold up in a saltwater environment.
Why not keep it on wheels and use the beautiful sandy beaches to land
because Salt provides great flotation for floats planes - great. however, salt is corrosive. just need to give it a good bath afterwards.
@@lejink boring. land on the water - stay out in the water and simply jump into the water.
Compared to the wheels that are normally on it, the ones on the floats look like they're off a shopping cart lol.

yes, you can slide slip a float plane. large floats provide a tremendous amount of drag!
Whats that thing he janked out at 7:00? Right next to the gear up/down warning panel?

Parádní !!!!!👍🏻
Somebody forgot water rudders up for takeoff at 6:35.
Anyway color me jealous, looks like fun.
+Phil G I caught that, then went back to the other shot at 4:15 and it looks like that was the up position. Definitely a fun little aircraft.
The rudders are up at 6:35 They never put them down.
Phil G are you have a rating for floats in this airplane. If you do not you do not know what you are writing about.

@@ohwell2790 , what is your response Sir?
