@Alan formula1 Sounds more like a general human being thing rather than a skateboarder type of person. You'll find teenagers are way more prone to behave like that and not the younger and/or older folks, but once again that has to do with age and maturity not really a skateboarding thing IMO.
Guys like him and Winkowski simply are bringing back old styles that have existed for decades but were deemed not cool anymore. So now that those styles haven’t been seen for years, it seems new and different. In some cases, guys like Andy Anderson and Eric Winkowski have never been seen before period for younger generations of skaters. A lot of people are tired of the super tech skating and are getting more and more into bowl and transition skating and guys skating with style and feeling over unattainable tech skating. Andy has managed to mix so many styles and tech skating in such a way that kids can relate to it. And Winkowski hitting inverts and long lipslides on handrails with an 80s shaped board and 80s street style is refreshing for people to see instead of another kickflip front crook flip out.
His understanding of all the physics and concepts of skateboarding parallels everything Rodney Mullen talk about. Andy is a true professional in his craft.
In my 40-plus years in skateboarding, Andy is the most original, genuine and innovative skater I've ever known. And an incredibly intelligent, fun, and cool guy as well.
