Nothin like a tripple man... they long legs and a powerband like no other when built right.. gave me the chills watchin it dance up that hill climb dident even start to work hard.. GO tripples (polaris)
I still have my stock Indy RXL 1992, no mods have been done, other than it has a Kimpex track now. I just love the smell and sound of this machine. I have about 2 other complete engines for this one, so it will last me a lot of years. Nice video !
Victorious victor Polaris triples are the best sounding, best performing sled engines. My '96 XLT Limited lasted 27,000 miles before it died, 23,000 of those miles with Reed valves, DG can and a lot of clutch work. She kept up with my buddies stock XC 700, and I would smoke anyone on the trails in NY, even new sleds. In the process of rebuilding, for another 27,000 miles and 21 years of abuse!!!
I posted this vid of my bud originally on snowest, someone copied it to youtube. 1200 PSI engine based off a modified 1000 AC bottom end. Definitly the coolest sled I have ever rode. aprox 250HP %50 race gas
That looks like pretty set up snow. I rode an 800 with triple pipes/cans, reeds, head, porting, etc and it rode/handled very similar to that one. It was mainly suspension setup...but god those things have torque and run nasty when they're set up!
my 93 storm sound identical to this one in every way. I got psi modblasters on mine. I never though i would here another sled that sounds as sweet as mine. Kick ass sled brother gotta love the triples
The snow dosen't matter, everyone that knows what a snowmobile is knows that the triples are heavy. but they also know that a triple engine is the sweetest engine there is
@misterdestiny17 its a polaris storm 750. they were polaris first reed valve triple. They were a little underpowered for the 800 triple class. But with a few mods they were monsters. Ive got a ton done to mine and am running about 175-180hp. The motor this guy is using is similar to mine. almost identical bottem end just different port design.
maybe the quieter sled, but the other one has some serious mod's, Probably more than 800cc displacement. My 800 mod dynoed at 187hp, but it doesnt pull like the loud sled in this video.
I love triples! I have a piped 98 Mach 1 and its my favourite sled Ive ever ridden. Yes they are heavier than twins, but I think all the rumours and drama about them being too heavy got out of control. Yes, sometimes its a bastard when ya get stuck in the deep stuff, I guess ya just learn to stay out of trouble :) awsome video!
I believe you’ll need to set the gas and elevation on the carbs as it raises more into the atmosphere the gas runs very lean very bad especially for a triple cylinder sled but all in all looks like a lot of FUN!!!
Damn thats sweetdiggin the ski lift all the way up the hill. P.S all you have to do is look at the colour of the heads to know what kind of sled it is...
1) lightens up the front of the sled 2) more airflow to cool motor, pipes, clutch - is good 3) if you tip over or roll (easy to do when playing on slopes) your hood is still safe and sound rather than getting trashed like a bunch of plastic snow cookies not that I know from experience.... "nothing like the sound of three holes"
best sounding polaris triples I've found on youtube, nice. Whats all done to the engine? one sounds nastier than the other haha, I love it. Now I need to make my machz 800 sound like that.
i have a 2 questions i would like to no if its better to run my xlt with racing disc on clutch (belt doesnt cool as quik) or just leave it the way it is. my second is what is the best bore size for 1997 xlt 600 thanks
Can you tell me some info on this beauty? Looks similar to my 01 rmk as in chassis, 1050 or a different mod motor , what chain case like tell about this
triple pipes are without a doubt the most badass sounding things out there. nothing compares
13 years later, I have a burning desire to revive my dad's wrecked 680. Thank you for the sounds!
Nothing to this Day sounds like a piped 680💪
I've been coming back to this video for over 10 years
Jesus h christmas that sounds awesome.
😂😂😂 that’s pure heaven right there
Long live the triple!
Thank you for not to spoil this video with some crappy music. #3 cyl. sounds are amazing. So sad they don't make those anymore :(
Whenever I'm sad, I watch this video and get even more sad because I'm not there
Nothin like a tripple man... they long legs and a powerband like no other when built right.. gave me the chills watchin it dance up that hill climb dident even start to work hard.. GO tripples (polaris)
What a tease! wish i had an alarm clock that SCREAMED this every morning
what i love about triples is that you can hold them wide open longer than twins
PURE POLARIS

10 years later and still nothing souls quite as angry as a triple.

the srx 700 is another good one, seen more polaris triples blowing up but that was user error. long live triples
Yes! Nothing better than a polaris triple to have an eargasm over every time you ride.
Heinrich Von Kekelnazi 27000 miles with no rebuild? How do u run reeds on that motor?
I dont care what it is (as long as it's not a skidoo) all triples were great, especially the thundercat... the king of muscle sleds

I watched this video hundreds of times, still my all time favorite youtube clip
Thank you for such an awesome video,, as far as i'm concerned, the sound of any piped triple is food for the soul... please keep'em coming!
my 93 storm sound identical to this one in every way. I got psi modblasters on mine. I never though i would here another sled that sounds as sweet as mine. Kick ass sled brother gotta love the triples
Just because it's old doesn't mean it doesn't have potential 🤘
The snow dosen't matter, everyone that knows what a snowmobile is knows that the triples are heavy. but they also know that a triple engine is the sweetest engine there is
to keep them cool. they are riding in tshirts too, so it's obviously warm out.

So sexy seeing old sleds rip again
@spancer87 he has a modded polaris ultra engine in it. ultras are 680 or 700 or whatever
Picking up a 1996 Polaris 680 on sunday.
maybe the quieter sled, but the other one has some serious mod's, Probably more than 800cc displacement. My 800 mod dynoed at 187hp, but it doesnt pull like the loud sled in this video.
That's the best sled vid on You Tube....
these were the bomb back in the day... sweet..
I Build 200hp Rotax Triples that run at 9700 rpm. That Hill Climb Sled Looks And Performs Wonderfully - I would like to meet the Builder - Great Job
13 years later I still want to chuck my srx 700 Yamaha in this same chassis and go to town
by far the sickest sled ive seen on youtube
a choir of synchronized chain saws....audible love
I just sold my triple. Greatest sled i've rode.
+Matt Bingeman Polaris see

No better song than a triple singing her heart out
I believe you’ll need to set the gas and elevation on the carbs as it raises more into the atmosphere the gas runs very lean very bad especially for a triple cylinder sled but all in all looks like a lot of FUN!!!
im quite sure switchbacks and prox's never had a tripple, unless it was not a stock motor
triples OWN!
Damn thats sweetdiggin the ski lift all the way up the hill.
P.S all you have to do is look at the colour of the heads to know what kind of sled it is...
awww yeeaah,,, love that sound, tripples rule.
Thats pretty cool, old iron !
that triple sure can climb
1) lightens up the front of the sled
2) more airflow to cool motor, pipes, clutch - is good
3) if you tip over or roll (easy to do when playing on slopes) your hood is still safe and sound rather than getting trashed like a bunch of plastic snow cookies

i have a 2 questions i would like to no if its better to run my xlt with racing disc on clutch (belt doesnt cool as quik) or just leave it the way it is.
