The gang members did not dance. They were in the background. The real trained dancers performed the choreography at the end including the choreographer, Michael Peters, in the white jacket and dancer/actors Michael DeLorenzo and Stoney Jackson.

In the 80s there were two kinds of music videos. Michael Jackson videos. And videos by everybody else. And I do mean this literally. This is because there was a very small team of people, responsible for thinking up video’s for literally everybody. And they tended to run out of original ideas very fast. Michael Jackson meanwhile had his own team. Just for him. So he got a lot of original ideas.
I liked your reaction! I can tell your a younger man! Glad to see you appreciate MJ! I'd advise you to watch more and learn more from him! You won't regret it! Again! Nice to see the joy on your face! Keep it up man! 😊
You really need to do Human nature 1988 Wembley. People also tend to forget just how important this song was for the massive sales of Thriller. With this song MJ now appealed and crossed over to a new rock fanbase. There are literally thousands of metal fans that have a soft spot for MJ cos of his crossover appeal. Oh and yes 3:24 is tooooo iconic.
Oh, man, he was awesome with those moves. So cool seeing you react to this the first time. You're not alone wanting to do those moves. Woo-hoo! Cheers 🍺
Thats old school knife fighting. They would tie one hand from each fighter to the hand of the other fighter so that no one would chicken out or run then fight. usually the first to draw blood won.
If you didn’t grow up in the 80s/90s - I’m not sure you will EVER grasp the mind blowing reality of this video! MTV was the lifeblood! We LIVED for these music videos - it was our souls!
The world's best musician and dancer Michael Jackson. His style of dancing and singing music never seems childish. He always sang music in deep voice, so his songs are hit and catchy. Moreover he always wrote teachable music. He was the only person in the world who performed dance-music together in front of live audience. May her soul rest in peace™🇧🇩🎵🎧🇧🇩
The mention of there being real gang members is true. To give the scenes an authentic look they hired guys off the streets of LA as the background but the dancers were specifically hired separately. The story goes it took about a week to film all the separate shots. Behind the scenes the real gang members were ragging on the dancers but as the week went by they came to respect just how hard those dancers worked doing it over and over to get all the parts just right.
I was 10 yrs old and got to watch this being done. One of the dancers Peter Tramm was a friend of the family and he took me there to see this. I have the coolest picture of MJ going into his trailer. something i will always treasure.
When Weird Al Yankovic does a parody of someone's song, it's a huge compliment. Check out the hilarious "Eat It" By Al. To wit:🎶...You'd better listen, better do what you're told You haven't even touched your tuna casserole You better chow down or it's gonna get cold So eat it I don't care if you're full Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it Open up your mouth, and feed it Have some more yogourt, have some more spam It doesn't matter if it's fresh or canned Just eat it!...🎶
The two "gangs" in this video were 2 actual rival gangs in L.A.; the Crips and the Bloods. The cast featured around 80 genuine gang members, 18 professional dancers and 4 break dancers. The chances for these gang members to break out into violence was a real concern. But it never happened. After all, this was MICHAEL!! They were all well-behaved, and together they made one of the most iconic music videos of all time.
Great reaction and great giggles from me, re your dance moves, but you are a great sport, and funny! Michael Jackson was 5 years older than me, so he was the best entertainment in the WORLD for so much of my life. I miss him being in the world SO MUCH! Keep those MJ reaction videos coming, there are generations of people who just love him and love his videos, concerts, award show performances, etc!
You are so cute and funny! But I'm glad you can appreciate the fantastic dancer that Michael was. The guy in the white jacket was the choreographer for this video and "Thriller."
In 1983 Michael Jackson astounded the audience during Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever to commemorate Motown's 25th year with his moonwalk during a performance of Billie Jean. The next day an 84 year old Fred Astaire called Michael Jackson to say “You’re a hell of a mover. Man, you really put them on their asses last night.” Live performances are even more impressive since they don't benefit from editing.
lol you have to check out the video for the Weird Al parody of this song called Eat It while this version is still fresh in your head to fully appreciate the genius in Weird Al's parodies.
Kid you’re breaking my heart, i’m a child of the 80s and it’s making me sad that you haven’t seen this till this point in your youth. Do your self a big favor and have you and your friends 80s get together and watch Michael Jackson, queen and movies from the 80s. Trust me, this stuff will help you self empower you. Other than that great video kid.
Trully my best MJ song of all time . Also the most bad ass video ever made . In MJ videos Thriller remains my best music video of all time . Beat its music video comes in at second place for me . But over all Beat it best song .
If People don't know billie jean , Beat it Or thriller ❤ Then they don't know Michael Jackson they don't know pop music they don't know the dance ! They don't know his 80s rule ! The king of pop one n only not any one Michael Jackson ❤
Great reaction, I haven’t seen this video in years; I just came across your channel last night and I watched a few of your George Carlin reactions and I loved them, I subscribed right away
Did you know? Here's an early showbiz appearance by Michael Jackson! Circa 1970 with his family members in the Jackson 5. 😁 th-cam.com/video/y2bVIBwpCTA/w-d-xo.html
In my opinion, you should be more popular because the reaction video is fantastic bro! I'm looking for underrated creators to make a reaction video for the Michael Jackson fan-created movie trailer I made inspired by his upcoming film. Please let me know so that I can share them in the channel to help you gain more exposure!
Hi! Thank you so much and sorry I'm just seeing this!! I would love to react to that! Please feel free to share in the channel and I will try to react to it whenever I can!
Hey Silas. MJ did stacks of dance vids. Just saw the suggestions below and no one has mentioned '2 Bad' or 'Slave to the Rhythm' (be prepared for moon walk lessons😂) Cheers ✌
The fact that these are real gangsters MJ looked for is amazing.
And that he took the time to organize them and teach them to dance is wild.👏
The gang members did not dance. They were in the background. The real trained dancers performed the choreography at the end including the choreographer, Michael Peters, in the white jacket and dancer/actors Michael DeLorenzo and Stoney Jackson.
There was 80 members of the actual rival LA gangs, the grips and the bloods in the video.
NO BODY can dance like Michael could.

I cannot believe this was 40 years ago. Seems like yesterday watching this on MTV in 1983. The video is so dated but the song remains fresh 👏
I saw Michael Jackson on television for the first time on Saturday night January 30, 1970. I knew then that he was gonna be special for a long time.
Wow! You are showing your age, lol.
Bro he was not just special....he was damn Extra ordinary elements inside him !

I've always enjoyed Scream with Michael and Janet together as well.
Eddie Van Halen played the guitar solo.... iconic video
Steve Lukather played rhythm
Eddie said he did this song for a 12 pack of beer.
Michael Jackson was a great singer and writer, but he was a genius dancer and choreographer.
Silas, if you like this, you should react to Michael Jackson performing Billie Jean at the 25th Anniversary of Motown in 1983.
Yes!!
That's when Jackson introduced "the moonwalk" to the world.
You should play eat it by weird al.thats a rip.this is Eddie van Halen on guitar. Wow.😊
I prefer his Munich Billie jean tbh

You can't take the specifics of the video too literally. Remember, it's just performance art.
bro is not even reacting to the solo cause mesmerized by the clip smh
This video was about gangs. Michael is saying fighting isnt the answer!
Remember me the film 1979 The Warriors

Churrr!!!
now you have to do Weird Al's Eat It video!!
I loved most of Michael’s music, but I was mesmerized watching him dance. The guy HAD to be double-jointed! He could bend himself every which way.
Michael makes everyone want to dance. He rhinks he's going to copy Michael the first time. Lol
You're funny😄😄 Thanks for sharing
Like this kid. This shit makes feel old tho.
