I also did PBP this year for the first time. It has been a dream of mine for 25 years and I finally made it come true. The journey to the start line, getting in shape, kitting the bike, doing the qualifying brevets, was as epic as the event itself - as you say - a once in a lifetime experience. I'm not sure yet if I'd want to do it again, mostly because I'm worried a second experience might take away from the memories of the first.
Wow Tom 25 years for you and 20 years for me! We made it happen this year in spite of all the things that got in our way. I know that I had an amazing experience and I hear what you’re saying about not wanting to take away from your first time. I would argue new memories and new acquaintances and new experiences of a different type will come your way. I’m definitely going to make every attempt to go back in 2027. I hope to see you there 😊

Hey George. Firstly thanks for your videos, they were super helpful. I was a fiirst timer PBP rider and finished in 68 hours. I thought the event was super, of course their were areas for improvement, but overall a unique experience. The French people were so supportive, at one point after Villaines on the way back, I felt sick and I stumbled across a small hut with 5 french people serving coffee and snacks. I asked to sleep on the grass. They assisted by providing a deck chair inside the hut where I slept for an hour. It was more hilly than I had expected, especially the first 150km back from Brest. I definitely had too much stuff on the bike and also too much nutrition (but also had no mechanicals at all). Best Stephen (London, Uk)

I followed you guys periodically on the ride. Man… lotta miles, congratulations! I am enjoying the new saddle you sent (612R). Took a could rides to settle the positioning.. and today my ride was very comfy. The material is a bit grippy, but not really a bad thing in my case. Man,, is that saddle light. My clamp is perfect for the rails as well. Thanks again.

Hey George! Great video. I did PBP as well and it was, as you said, a once-in-a-lifetime experience...that I want to do again. You captured the feeling, the scene really well. The people, the roads, the scenery! That's what it's all about. I too had no mechanicals or flats and my body held out really well, except for a very sore butt lol. I was in the 84-hr group so was able to avoid some the long queues. I only had about 23 hrs off the bike. I would love to do a collaboration. What do you have in mind?

Can you put in one of your future videos whether you saw any dangerous things some other riders were doing. i.e almost falling a sleep riding, dangerous situations in some groups, people sleeping in unsafe places such as on the road etc please?
Kudos! 2 observations: #1 10:25 The correlation between "rednecks" and broken glass is wrong. You were riding the France version of country back roads, basically used by French "rednecks". And just like in the US, you're more likely to have problems with debris on the streets/roads of metropolitan areas. #2 12:15 I saw the video you mentioned and my reaction was the same, what a pathetic approach regarding this kind of events. Unless you are completely off the front or off the back you will almost always see another rider. Good question for video content though
