    Excellent review...After three years of using my MSI Optics MAG272CQR, which is by all accounts a subpar monitor, I'm looking for a 240Hz monitor. This monitor appears to be an excellent choice for my £350 budget. I should be more than happy with it because I've been happy with my MAG272CQR for playing Call of Duty on my PC.

    Hello and thanks for great review!
    Considering this versus slightly cheaper VA monitor (Gigabyte GS27QC) -- I want one for gaming, but somehow worry about ISP being "not that good at blacks" vs VA.
    Currently using old 1080*60-hz AMVA, though, so not really familiar with modern monitors' quality. I love good blacks, vibrant and juicy colors (VA?), yet ISP considered best for gaming due to lower ghosting and no black smearing...
    What would you suggest? I'm playing all kinds of games, with some FPS too, but not on really competitive level.
    Does better ergonomics, faster response and 240hz preferable on better colors and contrast, if I'm not hardcore esport player?

    Yo, my guy, you've said that for competetive gaming u want to leave VRR off. However, this is only the case if you are playing CPU demanding games like CSGO but in GPU intensive games you are better off by either using VRR or capping your framerates so your GPU would not reach 100% utilization (85% more preferably) as this helps to reduce total latency of your PC and maitaining consistent frametimes. Ofcourse, there are solutions like AMD Anti-Lag and Nvidia Reflex, but in order to keep consistent frametimes and minimal total latency keeping your GPU not fully utilised at all times is the KING! This is the reason why Apex pros still turn down their graphics settings (in addition to reducing visual clutter). Not a critique, just my two cents after spending too much time on going deep the rabbit hole of system latency. Tweaking my system has consumed way more time than actually gaming recently :D

    • @TotallydubbedHD
      @TotallydubbedHD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I'm happy with what I said. As you're adding to the overall system latency by capping frames. More info in the description via my G-Sync guide.

    Great review! I am thinking buying this monitor. In where I live (Hong Kong) this monitor is the cheapest option for 1440p 240hz ips (around 315usd). As you said the response rate is not as impressive, only fine on fastest mode but the overshoot is a problem. I want to ask is there actually huge difference in 240hz gaming compare to the nearest price range monitor? If yes, would you recommend going down to 1440p 170hz monitors? Thank you!

    Hello i have a question about refresh compliance? is it even possible to get 100% can a monitor ever be true 240hz? and also is the percent in windows the same thing as refresh complaince like whatever amount of percent the refreshes are actually true to the amount of ms to the refresh rate but it's not even 240hz in the first place because of the refresh compliance or are they the same thing? I don't really understand.
    I am looking for a smooth fluid very low input lag monitor but don't know what to get now would the Benq zowie xl2546k or Samsung Odyssey g7 1440p 240hz fits my needs or are there better ones? Thanks

    • @TotallydubbedHD
      @TotallydubbedHD  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are cases where a monitor can hit the full refresh rate compliance; you'll often find it in OLEDs for example. Nonetheless, it can be quite a minefield to look into it; I'd be happy with anything that hits over 70-75%.
      As for the BenQ vs Samsung, the BenQ will win in terms of fluidity (and it has a flat panel), but it's FHD and a TN panel, vs a much more competent 1440p VA panel. Depends on your priorities.

I just bought this MSI G274QPX and this is a better shit. I'm really disappointed by the saturated colors, the bluish blacks and a shadowy, dark image. For more it's not sharp, I have to set sharpness to 1 (0-5). Also it doesn't have a gamma regulation and I have to set "normal" night vision for less dark. 456 dollars LOL I will buy an other monitor Alienware AW2723DF to compare it with the MSI, and sent back one, or both and stay with the old samsung 🤣

      Hard to believe that it's "pure shit", but best of luck on your search!

      @TotallydubbedHD 60 nits or less. My eyes need it to be as low as possible.

    Is this good monitor with rtx 3060 paired with 5800x3D?

      Think you'll struggle to output 1440p at a high refresh rate
