She studied first at Lahore College for Women University, then Government College University, with further degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Zehra is a professor emeritus of history at Forman Christian College and is a former principal of the Lahore College for Women University. She was a chairperson on the National Commission on the Status of Women. Zehra is a former caretaker provincial minister of Punjab. She is recognized for her knowledge on the Urdu language and literature and is specialized in intellectual history and South Asian social issues. Dr Arfa Syeda Zehra is a living legend. One thing I have learned from her is LOVE FOR BOOKS. Although I have been a voracious reader from childhood due to my Ammi [she is also from Lahore, a golden city accordingly, but migrated to Ludhiana in 1946], but Dr Arfa Sahiba's discussion on books and her creativity has all the more pushed me towards reading habit. One thing that I want to advocate is that every household must have a personal library just as we have Ibaadat Ghar, Puja Ghar or little temples in our dwellings. This would surely push people towards developing reading habit instead of watching 24x7 smartphones or streaming TV sets [a new post-COVID infection of modern age]. Allah Hafiz.

This lady is so deep soul, and i see my nani and dadi in her because they are not with me now to help me in solving my problem. She is the only female pakistani who ever agreed on the fact that we all forgot tolerance. Still either Indian or Pakistani we think ourselves inferior to western countries and given a chance we move out of our countries instantly with batch of pride. We all are so coward to fix our problems rather we focus on fighting with each other.

After Uzma Gillani and Naveed Shahzad got a time to know about Madam Dr. Arfa Syeda Zehra has been an immense pleasure so grateful to Samina Peerzada for bringing up with such an incredible conversation which might change the perspective of everyone's way of thinking and living, I wish everyone could love his fellow human created by the Lord God without any religious & status descrimination, I wish everyone could love each other & care about everyone who's in a misery & in poverty, everyone could have an urge to live a simple life with a minimal approach, and lastly everyone couldn't be ashamed of speaking his/her own mother language. We shouldn't have regrets for not having something which we don't have or which others have we should be only thankful to God for what we have!! I loved this thing which she has been said with so much happiness and contentment I have been cherished each moment listening her, how beautifully she speaks Hats off. May she live long, God bless her.

MashaAllah! What a wonderful lady with amazing conversation. Love it! I live in USA and originally from Lahore. So when I came here I met a lot of people from Karachi and I was shocked when they used to demean me as a Lahori and Punjabi. In my MA one of the subject was sociolinguistics and being a resident of Silicon valley - embracing diversity and inclusion is considered a key element to live here. And when I was little, I remember my favorite quote was Quaid- i- Azam’s saying “ we are neither Sindhi, Balochi nor Punjabi but only Pakistani’ . So growing up with this mindset and on top living in USA which is a melting pot leaves me in awe when I hear the nasty comments about Punjabis. And my heart cries when highly educated people discriminate & belittle others. And today dr. Arfa’s words worked like a balm. 😍💕😍😍😍💕💕

People like Dr.Arifa are the gems of a nation. She worked as a principal of Lahore college for girls when I was studying there and I saw her picking litter and waste papers from lanes and different points at the college. It was her message to the girls there.

I never leave comments for any TH-cam video but I was compelled to do so while listening to this wonderful person. She reminds me of my father. I wish my father was alive to enjoy this interview. How graceful mannerism and eloquent delivery of thoughts. How sad that Pakistan has very few of this generation left now. Alas! What a cultural loss.

It has been one of the best interviews in this series. Kudos to the entire team... I did have to pause the video few times and consult an Urdu dictionary to understand few words... but it was worth it... I loved this line- Us waqt badayi ismain nahi thi ki aapkay pass kya hai... par badayi ismain thi ki aap kaun hain...

I had heard her name for the first time from my 10 years elder sister who used to study at Lahore College during the era of 60s. I am 66 today. After this interview I came to know the reason why she was placed so high in the world of values as person. Great personality indeed.
