I lived in Philly, USA, in the '70s. A rock journo. I went to Allentown, PA, to see SAHB. Spent the nt in the hotel bar w them. Slow danced w Alex. Incredible band and a sweet, sweet man. Miss him still. 2013
Just makes me cry...every f'ing time I watch it. It's so........dunno, it's all just big feelings and not a word that'll go with them....Sensational perhaps? Or maybe just weeping for humanity as I draw closer to leaving it in it's current dire straits?
There are very few front men or women who look entirely at ease in front of the mic - but Alex Harvey was coolness personified . Such a great talented man , and his band were just sensational.
Late to the SAHB party . Better late than ever. Brilliant. Should have been bigger. Like all genius it will take the public awhile to get it. Love these guys!!!!
Someone send this video to WES BORLAND! HE NEEDS TO SEE WHO PROCEEDED HIM AS A LEAD GUITARIST MASTER SHOWMAN ON STAGE. Wes, this was your guy before you were even born, friend!
From Mustard to Tear Gas, I watched Zal grow to be this shockingly large part of SAHB, the face make up...the outfits...along with Chis C.....The boldness of SAHB was before its time.....Glasgow and music never ceases to be prominent in what took place then, what takes place today....The song just rides along with Alex just controlling the performance of the band.....priceless stuff
You either "got" SAHB or you didn't. From the very first time I saw them out of many in 1974 at Knebworth in England, I was hooked. Zal's over the top animation and guitar playing was amazing!
Damn right! Around this time, he used to do a scorching instrumental version of 'The New Carioca' from the Fred Astaire film 'Flying down to Rio'...it was awesome, but I've never seen any recording of it since...maybe it's on a bootleg somewhere?
My friend Pete used to act out the part to "Man In the Jar" and sang every word through the entire song. (1974) Then we'd laugh our asses off. I can't think of any other song quite like that one.
MENACE !!!!!Par EXELANCE !!! That Audience WAS !!!STUNNED 😨😂😂😂😂😂😩THE ONE AND ONLY SAHB !!!👍👍👍👍👍✌👌OLD ROCKERS NEVER DIE !! !Keep RIDING & Rocking Alex UP THERE ✌g
