The Brits are unbeatable regarding military precision! P.S. The changing of the Guards between the UK and France is a lovely gesture from both sides - all you need is love with "La Marseillaise" at the start from Les Beatles 👍👍🎵🎵
I was sleeping, i wake up and i see the english guards at the Elysée ! There was a british invasion while i was sleeping ? Very efficient army .
There are so many jokes that could made with what you said, ahaha.
Poor journalism. Couldn't even get through the first six words without making a mistake. As any well-informed London tourist will tell you, those are Coldstream Guards. Red plumes, buttons in twos and bags of swagger and charm. Unmistakably NOT Grenadiers.
you are perfectly right ! even i am a french guy, i know that very well ! all that is about the household Division and the foot Guards regiments !!!!
Gulfstream guards yeah that's right!
If only we were friends down through the centuries we could have shared the world with them lol
Dreadful filming it's like the person filming is drunk
Not grenadier guards, they are Coldstream guards get it right.
They are same. All wearing Bearskin hats. It’s really ironic how things turn out for Redcoats p
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 Coldstream guards : red plumes, on the right side of the bearskin, and buttons in pair ! plus the "red cross" on the collar ! look : Grenadier guards : 1 button by one button, white plume on the left side of the bearskin, and a grenade on the collar... second :; the coldstream guards.. third : the scots Guards. no plume on the bearskin, three three buttons... 4th : the irish guards , blue plume on the right of the bearskin, buttons 4 by 4, and a clover on the collar , 5th ; the Welsh Guards ; buttons 5 by 5, a white/green/white plume on the left side of the bearskin, and a leek on the collar........ and I am french !! 😉
@@christophermichaelclarence6003the 5 regiments of foot guards are not the same, granted they do the same job in guarding the monarch and being ready to be deployed to any war zone but they each have their separate traditions
There are also very slight differences in the arrangement of the buttons down their tunics & the colours of the plumes on the sides of the bearskins. I'm a Royal Artillery widow, so I'm not exactly sure what the differences are. To the civilian onlooker they all look pretty much the same but a Guardsman could tell you. @christophermichaelclarence6003
@@hotmailemail1128 I was a Coldstream guardsman from 78-88 that's how I know.
Sorry to show my prejudice, but London was far more impressive.
not surprising that anglos lack proper taste. your cuisine alone is an easy giveaway.
True, I agree with you there. The London performance was much more impressive, but then it was in a much larger space in front of Buckingham Palace and with more troops. I have allegiance to both sides ... father's family from London, mother's from Rouen, I am currently watching from Canada where they speak both languages. 😊
No need to be sorry for telling the truth.
Vous avez tout à fait raison, j'ai vu la cérémonie à Buckingham et c'était nettement supérieur à cette kermesse de l'Elysée.
How odd. Because I did not think so.
Bin absolut positiv beeindruckt, dass beide Hymnen von einem tollen Chor gesungen wurden. Bravo! 😊
❤ the choir was amazing
The Bearskin was adopted from the French Imperial guard after Waterloo.
I like the French uniforms, bearskins were worn at Waterloo by the Scots guards
“Adopted”? I don’t think that’s the right term. More like spoils of war from defeated foe. 😅
Grenadier companies of Line Regiments were wearing bearskins during the American Revolution and before that during the French and Indian Wars in British North America.

Très bonne idée. Toujours heureux de voir nos voisins si proches et pourtant si différents
L'armée britannique n'a pas perdu une guerre euro-américaine, ni la Révolution américaine ni la guerre de 1812. Impressionnant.
😁 Exactement, les professeurs de guerre ...XD
So proud of our British troops. They never let us down.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

These are the Colstream! "Second to none"
The Elysee Palace does not have an impressive location! It appears to be on a back street just off the Champs Elysee.
That's exactly where it is... As a Frenchman I've always wondered why the Republic chose this hidden, backstreet location when there was/is so many and better locations to choose from.
@@jfrancobelgeImagine if the Avenue des Champs Elysee had been a processional route direct to the Palace (cf the Mall in London) all the way from the Arc de Triomphe. I assume processions do go along there sometimes?
@jfrancobelge i guess a secure location in case of revolution. Keep soliders away from the crowds so they can organize and respond more effectively.
hooray from the (UK)
I wondered why the French waited so long in a back street of Paris , then realized it was probably for " Rent a Crowd . The French should be ashamed of themselves , the whole thing was a sham😞😞😞
A joy to see. Britain and France shoulder to shoulder. Now get to Calais and stop the boats.
Amen.
The come by planes nowdays…
Nauseating camerawork and zero editing…
This appears to be all about Macron which is a shame
Poor camerawork when they were marching.
Also, there are THREE things different about Guards regiments.
ONE = Buttons spacings on their red tunics.
TWO = The insignia on their tunic collars are different.
THREE = Plumes on their Bearskins are different or none at all in the case of the Scots Guards.
You can’t beat a bit of Pomp and Circumstance!😊
Don’t know where all the people are, cops standing looking bored
That’s just how the French look in general 😂
There are "changing of the guard" ceremonies every day in London so tourists know about them and they are an established ritual for public consumption. Do the French have daily or regular "changing of the guard" ceremonies at the Elysee Palace? If not perhaps people didn't know about it or what it was meant to be?
Do you really know how to hold a camera?
10:57 You shall not pass !
Can you not at least afford a camera stabilisation gimble FFS. Shocking camera work.
So the UK army can guard France but not the English channel - says it all really about the current state of the Uk FFS
Napoleon would be turning in his grave etc etc
Couldn't have chosen a more boring piece to march off to...
the changing of the guards in front of the presidential palace doesn't include a full orchestra, only trumpets and drums, so what they can play is limited to very plain trumpet and drum marches
@@aur.c Thank you so much for explaining that to me.
...excellent...beautiful...remember who caused Brexit when you vote...
warlords
Afterwards send the British guards to Calais area to stop the boats leaving for England
Would only take the one company to do it.
Why are you not using a gimbal to keep your camera steady?? My eyes are rolling trying to watch! Next time maybe you will?! PS. Are you getting paid for this? Move over….. I could do better. 🎥
The forerunner of NATO/le précurseur de l'OTAN
Unwatchable
The person filming needs some lessons 🙄
The Brits are the best at military& parades 👏👏👏
Well done to the French as well 👍👏👏👏
I really enjoy the Brits' military precision, orders, and arrangements. However, the trampling before halt isn't the top notch choice. It used to be French back in the 1757 ordinance. We've abandoned it 😊
We have put on a better show in great britain .then we are the best
The military bands are certainly better but it's nice to see French guards at Buckingham Palace
To this day I still cannot understand why the British wear their trousers close to half mast. You got to get them to wear their trouser longer and stuff British tradition. The last time I can remember trousers ever being worn at half mast was the yanks whom seem to love wearing their trousers short.
may be because of the heigh of the ammo boots ...?
Our solders wear gators
@@suemcgregor9248hopefully the ‘gators’ are trained not to bite.
Jacques Tati wore his trousers half mast, it looks idiotic.
Not at half mast .. trouser length to The 3rd lace eyelet on the ammo boots ..
British guards sworn to protect the monarch at a ceremony where a revolutionary song is being sung, someone better warn Charles.
Carry on dont lose your head.😂
I feel thoroughly entertained after watching this.
I wonder if this shouldn’t be an annual event…..
It’s easy to see why MSR Macron is so popular.
You can skip the first 45 minutes and just skip to the end - it reminds me of the guy who waited all day for the Royal Scott steam train to pass by only to be stymied by an Intercity 125. It really needed better planning; what a waste of time and money. 😁
lousy journos
Where are the crowds, the impressive buildings etc... feeling a bit sorry for the French troops here after they see the crush in London for the same exchange ceremony. Best bit was the lone guard marchinh ,or rather walking smartly down tbe road!
He needed the length of his troussers adjusted, they were a few centimetres too short.
Well, it's the only place in France where there is an official changing of the guard. The changing of the guard ceremony was recently reintroduced. The Élysée Palace is not a tourist place. You cannot visit it or walk in its gardens. I wonder if the Parisians were well aware of this ceremony marking the 120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale. There are actually not many spectators...
The first Guard visible has his trousers at half mast, poor turnout.
Still mourning the Queens death.
1. More Cops that Crowd
2. Stroll in the Park.
3. French Band Master walked like an animated Night Club Bouncer.
4. Maybe this satisfied some Office bound Military Wokes .. BUT What did this expensive Wank prove
POOR JOURNALISM👎
Why wer French singing God save the king? he does'nt reign over them . (Or Me!)
To honour the Coldstream Guard company who ARE there on behalf of the King.
The band at Buckingham Palace played the Marseillaise in honour of Macron, who obviously wasn't there, either, so according to your logic, why would they play it?.
We need a soldier's in england not another country how can they pretect us over there
Illiterate and xenophobic - an embarrassment to the UK!
This is a ceremonial occaision, what do you need protection from? Plenty of soldiers and Police in Britain
We obviously need English teachers in England.
It might be more accurate to title this as 25:50 minutes of gendarmes staring at empty pavements before the Guards join the changing of the guard.
@@pauljohnson9542True😂
Sorry. served 22 and still wouldn't salute the French
french have just surrendered i heard to the brits as usual
Won't stop them shipping more blacks over.
Meaningless gesture.
A bit stale, if I'm being honest. You can't beat the British Bullshit. They invented parades.
The British look so much more smarter than the French, and why are the French so small ?
parce qu' ils sont moins alcooliques
Because they're not wearing bearskins
