Thank you for these studies, I remember when I was asking the Lord for a commentary/teacher ...and some how you showd up. God is so good. I really enjoy your teaching and mannerism.

My Dad used this text for a New Years Eve sermon in 1969. The point he made at the beginning is how you ended your message, that we don't know if we'll make it past New Years Eve let alone all of 2023. We must be ready every day.

I’m packing up my house to move and so keenly aware of all my sin as a Christian. I was really down this morning condemning myself until I heard your sermon series on Romans 🙌❤️ thank you so much. This is exactly what I needed.

Thanks Pastor David your sermons and your website have been such a blessing for me. I would like to mention that the LG** is different, in the fact that there is a noticeable agenda to show that this lifestyle is one of love, whereas you’d never see someone say that adultery or robbery is love. So it’s good to speak out against it, in love, but truth. Proverbs 3

Well, you have a point but some adultery has certainly been excused in the name of love. Both still a sin.

So since we cannot KNOW God except through Jesus Christ ONLY, can we agree that romans 1 21 - 25 is about the saved backsliding?
    John 14 KJV
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
    KJV
    Romans 1.........57ad
[21] Because that, WHEN they KNEW God,
they glorified him NOT as God, neither were thankful; but BECAME VAIN in their IMAGINATIONS, and their foolish heart WAS DARKENED.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they BECAME FOOLS,
[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an IMAGE made like to CORRUPTIBLE man , and to BIRDS, and FOURFOOTED BEASTS, and CREEPING things.
[24] Wherefore God also GAVE THEM UP to UNCLEANNESS through the LUSTS of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
[25] Who changed the truth of God into a LIE, and worshipped and served the CREATURE MORE than the CREATOR, who is blessed for ever. Amen
Every single believer backslides at some point. This is what happens in the background when we do and stop repenting daily.
Gods grace is always there when we go back to Him.
Unless we deny the words of the Holy Spirit. Thats unforgivable.

My understanding is that Romans 1 speaks of the unsaved, who "know" of God is a general sense, but who choose to turn away from the awareness of God and instead turn to their own ways. I hope that this helps. Blessings!

Cant lose what you never had to begin with.
Amen
The UNSAVED always have been vain in thier imaginations.
      They never ever glorified God.
      They always had dark hearts.
      They were always unwise.
      They were always fools.
      They always made images.
      They were always corruptible.
      They were always unclean.
      They were always lustful
They always dishonored their own bodies between themselves.
      They were always liars.
The unsaved knew OF God but never KNEW God.
God never walks away from the unsaved. There has to be a relationship in place to walk away from.
What did the UNSAVED ever have to lose when they never had it to begin with?
Now read 21-25 with the saved in mind. It will make alot more sense.
Pay attention to the past tense grammer. The saved has things to lose as the unsaved dont. Cause they never had it. Their soul is already lost without salvation.
Romans 1 21-25 is not talking about the unsaved. Its talking about the saved backsliding and what happens because of it.
Since the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there has been ONLY ONE WAY TO KNOW God.
Paul and the Holy spirit would never use the words "KNEW GOD" loosely and contradict the words of Jesus in John 14 by implying we can know God by His creation only.
      Romans 1
[21] Because that, WHEN they KNEW God
      John 14 KJV
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
      Repent daily

    "KNOWING" God
    John 14 KJV
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
    John 19
[30] When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
THE NEW COVENANT IS IN AFFECT. Zero ad
    Romans 1.........57ad
[21] Because that, when they KNEW God. STOP.
    Lets examine the word "KNEW".
Paul wrote romans in 57ad. So he KNEW to KNOW God is to KNOW Jesus first.
In romans 1 21-25 He was talking about the saved that turned from God.
Many preachers skip right over the word KNEW and how important that word is. They want to make 21-25 out to be about the gentiles.
The lost knew OF God but didnt KNOW God and are already by default condemned and unclean being without Christ.
We are to take Gods words as they are and not add to them.
The missing word that people are adding is the word 'of". As in they KNEW OF GOD.
I refuse to think Paul as an ignorant writer. He was a great writer and KNEW exactly what he was writing. And was guided by the Holy Ghost. Pauls letters can be hard to discern but the Holy Ghost helps those that acknowledge him.
If one knows God then that means they are a child of God through Jesus. Its not universal.
    Amen

If my dog bites my neighbour, I shall pound my anger upon the animal so the it may understand it's sin, and only when it comes crawling back to me, cowering and remorseful, shall I forgive it.. maybe.. if I feel like it..
