When we say we are a "good person", we deny the need for the sacrifice Jesus made. Therefore, it is offensive to God whenever we stress how good we are. I'd be careful with that.

Question? You mentioned Judas being thrown into the pit of hell for selling out Jesus. Help me understand? I would think since Judas was one of Jesus disciples he definitely believe in Jesus, so wouldn't his salvation and belief save him from hell?
It is true that Jesus chose Judas to be one of his disciples, but it is also true that Judas was never truly converted. Jesus said this about Judas in John chapter 6... 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” 71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve. We also read that in John 17:12, Jesus said... While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. The word "perdition" means destruction. The Bible doesn't support the idea that Judas was saved.
