I am in High School, every single day is stressful. The only thing that cheers me up are Music and Hugh Jackman (literally). Until I heard this song in his tour. If I can't help myself, I should help people first. Maybe I'll find out how to help myself someday.
The student choir at my school did this song last year. We'd lost a grade 12 student to suicide, and 4 more within the community. It was a beautiful, meaningful performance, and I'm so thankful for this song and musical.

Bird of a Feather i’m late to reply to this comment. it’s okay, but about a year ago a boy in my grade, only 13, committed suicide. it was hard on my whole class, and i only just now listen to this song and it has so much meaning.
My friend died from suicide and I wish I had been able to say all these things to her and more before it was too late. If I had a second chance, I would do everything in my power to make sure she knew she could be found.
One of my best friends is going through a hard time, and today she told me she was actually going to jump off a bridge on her way from school the other day. She wont tell us what us wrong and when we ask her if shes ok, she says shes fine but I know she isnt and I dont want anything to happen that would be unfixable but I dont know what to do to help her because she won't speak to us and i really dont know what to do and i worry so much about her 😓

When I first heard this was when they performed at the Macy's parade. I had to leave the room and hide in the downstairs bathroom. Because it was just weeks after I sunk down so low that I almost lost everything. I was so close. The second time I heard it was on Broadway, and I teared up. I didn't cry, but I almost did. I did start sobbing from the transition of Words Fail and So Big/So Small. Because that conversation between Evan and his mom was similar to the one I had with my mom, who was in the theatre with me, and I just started crying. And then my mom grabbed my hand and squeezed it during the scene and then I was sobbing. Rip amirite
i'm going through parental abuse my father always hurts me really bad and my mother too it happends since i was a little baby i got to the point of cutting and trying to kill myself but listening to this soing has been my escape to feel better and talking to my best friend and now i'm a teenager and the abuse has gotten worse

I don't know how to say this, but I'm just so thankful for this song. Being bullied by past friends of toxic friendships, and by my peers for having high anxiety and often times freaking out over nothing, I was ready to end it all, but this song made me realize that I'm not the only one struggling, and that I had to keep fighting. Today I am 6 months clean of self harm, and I feel so thankful. My choir director told me about this song after she heard about my situation. She was often times the only person I would talk to for days, the only person who could get me to eat sometimes while struggling with anorexia nervosa. I am alive right now, and I can't say that my life is magically better, but I know that I'm not alone. There is so much I want to say about this song, but since this comment will only get lost in the sea of comments, I will leave it off here. Just please, whoever is reading this, know that you aren't alone, you deserve to be alive, and even if it doesn't seem like it, someone would be devastated if you died, I would be. I don't know you, but if you can relate to me in the ways I have stated above, you need to know that you are a beautiful person, no matter what you think. Please, take sometime to think about everything you do. I have major anxiety. When I was in sixth grade I had a panic attack before a choir performance. A few friends of mine turned on this song and it calmed me down a bit. They did give to play it from a far because I get *very* territorial when I'm having a panic attack. So to sum it all up, this song helps me to this day.

I used to be a really horrible and manipulative person. Realizing that my popularity only came from being close friends with a cool girl made me lose some self esteem since that girl had been showing some toxic signs. I started being warm to the people I hurt but knowing that I'm liked because someone said i was made me think that I would never have anyone like me for me. I'm trying my best to forgive people but that made me self aware that i was also being cruel to them for not liking their taste. I could have friends but either they would hate me or I would hate them and I could have friends who match me exactly but they would end up moving schools or being the most toxic person i ever met. I kept making excuses that ' oh she revealed to everyone about my crush' or 'oh she kicked me in the stomach' It kinda ends up making me too nice or too mean. Wow, at a time going through depression and mental health, I have been in the state mind that I wanted to kill myself, which I almost did 2 times. I finally spoke it out this year of 2021 within having it for years now and I am so glad that I did. Everybody has been there for me. Watching the Broadway and just watched the movie version yesterday, made me realize that we aren't alone. There are people out there who need help. That is why always check up on your friends or relatives, cause you will never know what they are going through.

I felt like this after my Soul Mate of 30 years suddenly passed away. I hit rock bottom and went to a really dark place, having horrible dark thoughts. I truly believe that even now he is right beside me and still watching over me sending gifts and people into my life when they are needed. While I was having these dark thoughts about doing stupid things, Rob came into my life. He'd been to the same dark place that I had found myself and he had even acted on the dark thoughts. Happily for us it didn't work and we found each other. We have become the best of friends and we just pull each other up when darkness tries to take control again. This song is absolutely our song and it doesn't matter how many times I listen to it, it makes cry floods of tears and makes me feel so lucky that I was found. I've never fallen in love so quickly with a musical BUT, the important truth thats perhaps missing is that it doesn't always "Get better", Im 26, gay, autistic, bi-polar, depressed, it sounds so far fetched that it sounds made up, I know! It often feels like life is one big fat cruel joke, one big test thats never ending. Surrounded by people who moan about their "anxiety" which seems to be societys new fav buzzword of the last 2 years. Some people genuinely suffer but others just throw words around for attention, I am diagnosed with everything, with every label and its hard to be taken seriously when everyone is claiming they have anxiety and then 5 minutes later claiming they have the best life ever. . I have no friends, have spent my entire life putting others first and trying to be a good person, was so close to ending it on boxing day, its pretty much always been like this for me, so no I won't "be found", I've tried reaching out to people but I don't want pity I want people to actually want to spend time with me not because they pity me and want to make themselves feel better. I won't "be found", because I've tried reaching out and people just can't cope with someone thats depressed, they feel like the negativity will bring them down too. I do genuinely love this musical and the voice it gives to so many people who feel alone and isolated, especially at a time like this with Christmas and new years where peoples happiness is shoved in your face. (Don't hate, you'd be bitter too)

When I first heard this was when they performed at the Macy's parade.
I had to leave the room and hide in the downstairs bathroom.
Because it was just weeks after I sunk down so low that I almost lost everything. I was so close.
The second time I heard it was on Broadway, and I teared up. I didn't cry, but I almost did. I did start sobbing from the transition of Words Fail and So Big/So Small. Because that conversation between Evan and his mom was similar to the one I had with my mom, who was in the theatre with me, and I just started crying. And then my mom grabbed my hand and squeezed it during the scene and then I was sobbing.

I don't know how to say this, but I'm just so thankful for this song. Being bullied by past friends of toxic friendships, and by my peers for having high anxiety and often times freaking out over nothing, I was ready to end it all, but this song made me realize that I'm not the only one struggling, and that I had to keep fighting. Today I am 6 months clean of self harm, and I feel so thankful. My choir director told me about this song after she heard about my situation. She was often times the only person I would talk to for days, the only person who could get me to eat sometimes while struggling with anorexia nervosa. I am alive right now, and I can't say that my life is magically better, but I know that I'm not alone. There is so much I want to say about this song, but since this comment will only get lost in the sea of comments, I will leave it off here. Just please, whoever is reading this, know that you aren't alone, you deserve to be alive, and even if it doesn't seem like it, someone would be devastated if you died, I would be. I don't know you, but if you can relate to me in the ways I have stated above, you need to know that you are a beautiful person, no matter what you think. Please, take sometime to think about everything you do. I have major anxiety. When I was in sixth grade I had a panic attack before a choir performance. A few friends of mine turned on this song and it calmed me down a bit. They did give to play it from a far because I get *very* territorial when I'm having a panic attack.

I used to be a really horrible and manipulative person. Realizing that my popularity only came from being close friends with a cool girl made me lose some self esteem since that girl had been showing some toxic signs. I started being warm to the people I hurt but knowing that I'm liked because someone said i was made me think that I would never have anyone like me for me. I'm trying my best to forgive people but that made me self aware that i was also being cruel to them for not liking their taste. I could have friends but either they would hate me or I would hate them and I could have friends who match me exactly but they would end up moving schools or being the most toxic person i ever met. I kept making excuses that ' oh she revealed to everyone about my crush' or 'oh she kicked me in the stomach' It kinda ends up making me too nice or too mean. Wow, at a time going through depression and mental health, I have been in the state mind that I wanted to kill myself, which I almost did 2 times. I finally spoke it out this year of 2021 within having it for years now and I am so glad that I did. Everybody has been there for me. Watching the Broadway and just watched the movie version yesterday, made me realize that we aren't alone. There are people out there who need help. That is why always check up on your friends or relatives, cause you will never know what they are going through.
And I regretted everything I have did to my family, friends, and classmates

I felt like this after my Soul Mate of 30 years suddenly passed away. I hit rock bottom and went to a really dark place, having horrible dark thoughts. I truly believe that even now he is right beside me and still watching over me sending gifts and people into my life when they are needed. While I was having these dark thoughts about doing stupid things, Rob came into my life. He'd been to the same dark place that I had found myself and he had even acted on the dark thoughts. Happily for us it didn't work and we found each other. We have become the best of friends and we just pull each other up when darkness tries to take control again. This song is absolutely our song and it doesn't matter how many times I listen to it, it makes cry floods of tears and makes me feel so lucky that I was found. i've been listening to this song because i've experienced 2 anxiety attacks due to bullying last week and it's filled me with a small bit of hope.
When I first heard this song I had just come to terms that I was trans, I thought that no one would know how I feel and that I would never get help because a couple of months later my mom found out and she was not happy, when I listen to this song I am reminded that I am not alone eve though I may feel like it and that one day I will be found, my true self. This song is the reason why I am still here, I haven't thought to deeply about it but I do believe that if I didbn't have this song, I would not be here right now. i listen to it when I'm at my all time lows and when I just wanna sing, I love this song with all my heart and I can't thank it enough for helping me.

I've never fallen in love so quickly with a musical BUT, the important truth thats perhaps missing is that it doesn't always "Get better", Im 26, gay, autistic, bi-polar, depressed, it sounds so far fetched that it sounds made up, I know! It often feels like life is one big fat cruel joke, one big test thats never ending. Surrounded by people who moan about their "anxiety" which seems to be societys new fav buzzword of the last 2 years. Some people genuinely suffer but others just throw words around for attention, I am diagnosed with everything, with every label and its hard to be taken seriously when everyone is claiming they have anxiety and then 5 minutes later claiming they have the best life ever. . I have no friends, have spent my entire life putting others first and trying to be a good person, was so close to ending it on boxing day, its pretty much always been like this for me, so no I won't "be found", I've tried reaching out to people but I don't want pity I want people to actually want to spend time with me not because they pity me and want to make themselves feel better. I won't "be found", because I've tried reaching out and people just can't cope with someone thats depressed, they feel like the negativity will bring them down too.

I got this stuck in my head and I was humming and crying during my math class.
I might learn this song to sing it at my Talent show, its so emotional and I bet a lot of my peers need to hear it.
