They didn't disconnected. Changing outfits in trials via hacks can make dbd crash for other players.

CoconutRTS does the same, but just swaps games instead. It’s definitely the best approach, they seek the attention and it gives them almost none.
Realistically who the fuck has like 3 platforms to switch to? Like not everyone has PC, PS4 (with PSplus) an XBOX (with live), a switch with online, and a phone. Besides, we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to enjoy a game

@@darkstryker628 dark souls was on a similar path and then the worst happened where hackers found a way to take control over other players pcs basicly hijacking it, which forced them to close it for a few months (multiplayer, single player worked). With ip leaks and ddosing that could maybe be possible here too.
They need a good anticheat so they can go f2p for the base game or it will die out

There really shouldn't be a DC penalty unless they introduce a ranked queue. DC penalties in what amounts to casual playlists is so detrimental for any game, they introduced them to the casual playlists in rocket league a while ago and nobody enjoyed the experience. I feel like maybe half of the people who play dead by daylight don't care about the meta or trying really hard, they're just playing the game for fun and at this point it feels like the DC penalty serves cheaters more than anything else. If someone leaves early in my game I don't care, maybe we can win with 3 survivors or maybe it's an L but there's always going to be another game so ..
They should keep the DC penalty the reason they hack is because they want the DC penalty removed. And by removing it you'll be giving them what they want.
@@iatemychildren913 Half of the reason they hold streamers hostage is because they want to make the streamer either wait 2 hours until the server collapses or they DC and take a temp ban. They don't want it removed, it would literally let us just leave the game instead of putting up with their bullshit ...
Almost Every. Single. solo game I’ve had recently somebody gives up on first hook or dcs after their first down. I’m not dealing with 1 or 2 let alone 3 dcs every damn game. It’s a worthless bandaid anyway, it doesn’t fix any actual problem.
Agreed, the DC penalities haven't done anything. Survivors just kill themselves on hook anyways.
DC penalties should only apply to the first person who leaves, not the rest.

Ive had 2 this week, a carlos that escaped with 2 gens left and everyone else still alive. And a freddy that found me in a locker across the map on RPD with nothing but yellow perks and no information perks. and they both were in streamer mode.....

To be fair to Demi, commenting on current DBD stuff isn't Demi's thing. At all. He makes funny build videos and stuff like that, but it'd be out of place for him to get involved in community based stuff. It's not his style and I respect that he doesn't feel the need to get involved in stuff outside of playing the game. Creators who want to talk about it should, but we also shouldn't expect all content creators to want to.
Survivor mains are generally less affected by cheaters as they are harder to target and snipe, and the vast majority of cheaters are survivors. Also, their content tends to be more lighthearted and less current event based. All that said, I agree. They should stand up together for what this game needs.

I think this is great with all of these recent videos from TH-camrs, about cheaters being an issue. Hopefully it will push the devs to announce or do something about this serious issue.

I was playing blight, and I got into a match with a public profile meg with 1000 hours~ and at the start she was prestige 63 and end game she wasn't prestiged at all. What do you think happened
I'm glad to see content creators come together to try to fix a game we all play and love. It's sad to see it get to this point but as you all have said. Something needs to be done. Whether it's cheaters or extremely laggy players who rubber band all over the place and hit you 10 feet away. There should be some sort of connection test that also checks for any extra programs running thru the Internet connectivity test and disable the ability to play if there's excruciating ping periodically. We aren't talking random drops in frames on slight jumps in ping for a second, we're talking the extra ping that vpns make you experience while playing. Since hackers are the biggest users of vpns playing on this game and most others as well. It can't be that hard to add a couple extra checks that include an internet connectivity check ping and relay. I don't want to say they shouldn't allow vpns but if they fix the problem and no longer allow vpns and then they can check to see if that IP is bouncing and automatically disable connection for that player until they get their stuff figured out.

Sad thing is that I'm not a streamer/content creator and I almost always run into cheaters and hackers most of my games. Plus, I am in the high MMR areas. This shit needs to stop.🤬
there's so many changes they can do to make this issue easier, if not getting a better anti-cheat, at the very LEAST program the system to understand that if X happens Y amount of times, that's impossible and should disconnect the person that's spamming an action in game

i was playing myers, all survivors got downed immediately but one of the survivors was bubba, shit was trippy asf but that’s the worst hacker i’ve seen so far. hope it gets fixed soon
valorant has a super effective anitcheat (compared to dbd) I feel like there shouldn't be any second chances and if the offence is great enough the person gets perma banned right off the bat. The report system on dbd is a joke, the amount of times I have been harassed in game and chat is insane and all those people still have their accounts and platforms
Valorant's anticheat is spyware running at kernel level. It's a rootkit.
It listens to microphone audio too, doesn't just check for cheating.
Apex Legends on the other hand - Also uses EasyAntiCheat like DBD does, but doesn't have nearly as bad of a cheating problem. Which should be very telling as to what the actual problem with dbd is, because it certainly isn't the choice of anticheat

My first time in your stream (I'm Amezzeray) and I lurked while playing my own games and returned to this. The only cheaters I get are the peeps who don't run boons and then somehow apply all 4 to a totem. I'm sorry this happened. But it was a nice chat everyone had afterwards and your chat are really lovely.

This kinda stuff makes me so upset that they used to give out hardware bans to toxic creators (such as Ochido), but for some reason they aren't handing them out for cheaters who are actually completely ruining the enjoyment of this game for the community.
Honestly, something amazing would be removing collision on hooked survivors, a small change that would give cheaters a harder time. Maybe even a timer after the EGC that automatically ends the game. Sure this wouldn't be as strong a sollution, but it would completely remove the ability to hold the game hostage and reduce that cheat where they remove all of the non-basement hooks.
the overwatch idea seems like a great way to help take the load off of behavior and combat cheaters

No DC penalty for killers. They should at least try it for a while. Maybe some kind of flagging system where you can vote in-game or tell the server that someone is cheating, and the post-EGC timer changes to 60 seconds or some garbage.
For better or for worse, I haven't encountered a cheater within my over 1k hours playtime in a 2 year span. Streamers are just targeted by those.
I have 800ish hours and I've had 3 of those in my games so far (as far as I can remember)
I am by no means a streamer or a known content creator but I've met several cheaters in my matches. While yes this is a big issue for streamers it is also for those who aren't (majority of the playerbase)

i remember encountering a blatant cheater, i made a ticket with video evidence, and i was told weeks later that "i wasnt forgotten" or something like that. i never heard back from them after that, and almost 2 years have passed

i remember back in the beginning of the year getting 4 hackers in one night. held hostage every time, it sucked said some awful things that i still remember to this day
i was held hostage yesterday. I couldnt get to hatch because i was body blocked against a wall. Stood there for about 20 minutes before i suspect their account was banned
I was carrying a survivor down the basement one time and this other survivor somehow ran ahead down the basement (with a flashlight), I turned my back when they were shining it and they got the flashlight save just like that. It was the most sus flashlight save I've seen.
Literally first game I had today took 2 minutes to load in, 4 gens were finished instantly but, then the last ten popped and then just instantly left, I don’t understand how ending the game instantly is fun for these people
I had a match recently I was chasing a Nancy and she kept teleporting but I eventually caught her. Ugh it's annoying.
I remember RIOT had something similar like a community trial board type thing where every week you could go and view like 2-3 account reports of people being toxic towards the community. everything was anonymous it was all just chat logs, K/D ratio etc and you would decide as a 3rd party if you felt that person should receive a ban or not

Problem with "Overwatch" suggestion is that BHVR themself said tha it is impossible to implement the match rewatch system because its to much old spaghetti code to rewrite
I got unlucky and had my IP leaked because of the exploit and have had cheaters it's a shame I remember having to sit for 2 hours to get out of a game even then I ended up crashing my pc. it's no longer fun and I have quit my problem now is how hard it is to tell subtle cheaters now though because they're perks like hyperfocus bloodpact ect and it is hard to tell now

I've always thought that dbd should implement some kind of flag system such as, "if end-game collapse expires, the game will end after a short period." Or some kind of event that auto catches and bans cheaters such as, "if player's hook duration extends past a certain time, they are automatically removed from the game with a temp or permanent ban applied." The max amount of time a person can be on hook in a game is 120 seconds to die on hook and an addition 180 seconds if all 3 survivors use reassurance for each hook stage. This is a total of 300 seconds or 5 minutes. If you get held hostage and walk away, the cheater will be removed or banned within a 5-6 minute period and you can continue playing.
It’s really difficult to find out if someone is subtle cheating or not. Is that survivor slightly faster than their teammates? Does the killer have a really good game sense or do they have BBQ without having BBQ?
The few times I've discovered a cheater in a game, I've just DC'd immediately. I don't know how hard it would be considering DBD's spaghetti code, but If BHVR could add a post-game playback of the match it would help so much with the identification of cheaters.
They should had a system were you can quit a match without getting a penalty but when you quit using that option you automatically report and get a bigger time penalty later on if no cheats or griefing was involved. That way you could quit without the time penalty of quitting normally, but you would get punished later on if you were abusing the mechanic.
I know that this is an old video, but honestly, I think the ability to watch replays of games in general would be a good idea. Maybe also having something like a speedometer or something would also help.
About 2-3 weeks I was playing (keep in mind I mostly play survivor) and I kept getting suspicious that this one person kept getting healed every 5 seconds after getting hit, my suspicion came true when she teleported to me, this was my very first time encountering a hacker and I play on my ps5, I ended up letting the doc hook and kill me
If a cheater ever holds me hostage, their gonna find out the hard way that my PS4 is right next to me. And I have a backlog of RPGs I need to get through

Simple solution. Allow you to choose which systems you can crossplay with. If you can just turn off PC but still play with Xbox/PS/Switch it'll get rid of this.
I know Streamers are mainly PC but it's probably the only solution.

Maybe disable dc penalty after 5 gens are done or exit gates are open I think that would be better? That would at least making holding hostage less annoying or dcing after 15mins so then they can’t keep gens at 0%

Honestly cheaters was the biggest reason I quit this game after playing since nurse was new to dbd. Once you get to a certain mmr, you're guaranteed cheaters every hour
Today I played about 5 hours and encountered 7 separate cheaters. Mainly instant heals and speed hacks. But did run into 3 identical Dwight's that had 100% unhook success. They were hilariously bad.
Is this an NA or High MMR thing? I play on EU and i wont say i have the best MMR, but i havent experienced a single cheater (or the subtle ones have just been dog ass)

Personally, I went the longest time without ever seeing a hacker. My only suspicions was a Nancy from a few days ago who looked liked she was too fast for her own good. There was also a Bill who had a pretty high prestige and private profile, but didn't do anything.
So strange, every match I play CS:GO there is a cheater for the past 8 months (1-3 games a week).
Never seen anyone cheat in DBD personally, is this mostly a higher-tier thing since they want to be red-ranked to pair with streamers? I'm really low rank/don't play much.
Sadly they don't even have to be same rank. They *pay* to have some shitty software that lets them inject themselves into chosen lobbies.
Basically BVHR needs to hurry up before hackers kill their game after they managed to somewhat fix it with the perk overhauls.

Went up against a hacker Virgin other day no scratch marks moving really fast literally instantly blinded me, icing in the cake? Boil over was so bad I couldn't move
With how tight lipped they're being and not even saying they're going to improve the situation it feels like behavior either 1. Aren't doing anything or 2. Are trying a no mans sky style comeback without the ability to accomplish it. Also to stop hostage taking they could literally just add a system where once the end game timer finishes and the sound effect plays it waits 10-20 seconds and then goes "the trial has concluded. Dissolving realm in 60,59...". But no we need another rift ready and we need the halloween cosmetics ready for the shop before october.
Behavior needs to IP BAN the hackers.

Easy anitcheat isn't that good every cheater knows how to get around it, so I'm hoping whatever upgrade they go to isn't the same code as easy anticheat.
Kind of related, the cheaters usually talk about their cheats like they are features in the game or at least I’ve noticed especially from dbd cheese who is a pretty popular cheater which is pretty funny to me
Imagine being so bad at a game you have to buy cheats in order to win/troll the other player…it just shows how often they go outside to touch grass, or even receive a hug from mom.

I came across a subtle cheater yesterday. It was an ace. I realized they were subtly cheating when they finished a gen right next to me and I couldn't find them despite showing up within 2 seconds and there were no scratch marks (they didn't have any perks that got rid of scratch marks) and got cross map within a time frame completely unreasonable for a regular survivor. Though hey maybe I just got outplayed you would think. But uh. I saw them through a window speedhacking to be as a fast as Blight earlier in the match 💀
Thing for me is When I play i cant tell if its a cheat. Sometimes I will hit a player multiple times and they neither get wounded or go in the dieing state. I had one where to people escaped but not all generators were repaired and the hatch it wasnt open. I cant tell if im lagging or im glitching... I had 4 rare mori's I offered and 1 out 4 times it was available for use.
The other day some dude had a 99 prestige I just rolled my eyes.

I think they should add some kind of replay function where you can watch other players perspective of the game. The nea is acting weird? watch the game from her perspective, see if she did gens faster, ran faster or anything of the sorts. This may not fix the problem but it could give both some comfort to know they were aswell as concrete proof they were.
