Or to be evil and to overcome that through great effort she helped the good people several times throughout Clone Wars she also literally killed potentially millions of clones on her own but that was her purpose what she was trained and made to be after she was done with that training I'm surprised there was any good left in her at all although it did take a long time to show
Being one of the greatest characters from Clone Wars, that we never see get an actual ending in animated form...I really hope they adapt the Dark Disciple novel in to an actual arc in a Clone Wars spinoff.
I am low-key tired of well-developed characters going to the dark side, returning to the light, and promptly dying. Or even a character overcoming their final challenge and then promptly dying. It’s a very Boromir-esque character trope that Star Wars seems to love. I disagree with the notion that once a character has fully completed their arc they need to die. It’s not how life works. Some of the most powerful speakers are those who had incredible demons to overcome - the addict who found sobriety and lives on to be relatable to struggle is a very powerful messenger. I think it’s why Qui-Gon is so beloved because he isn’t an altar boy. Asajj as a role model or teacher to new Jedi, instructing next to someone like Obi Wan, would be an amazing and productive juxtaposition for the students. I am not asking for characters riding off into the sunset. But Asajj is precisely the kind of person who would make a fantastic, complex survivor of order 66 - that story would be great. And doesn’t need to be redemption, promptly die. Imagine Asajj as Cal Khestis’ Master? Her story is basically Cere’s in that she overcame her demons. Except she is wayyyy more compelling (which isn’t a knock at Cere - Asajj has been around longer). I want an Asajj rewrite of her canon.

Her journey is a microcosm of the Clone Wars. The manipulation of the dark side that resulted in fall of the Jedi, the Jedi's own moral ambivalence, it is a deliberate telling of uncertainty of what is right and the struggle of light and dark. I think it fits and places her as a tragic character in the Clone Wars who wouldn't live to see who would win the war but made her own choice to end her slavery to the dark in a way more noble than killing her dark side master.
I like how Ventress as a bounty hunter, I wish she didn’t die so we see her in other post order 66 content. Maybe they could have had her fight inquisitors with Obi-wan. But I like her redemption arc overall
I was hoping that ventress and Voss would parent starkiller, where after order 66 they would give the boy to a different jedi to train him without attachments. Would have been a good tie in.

I haven't completed watching all the Clone Wars episodes, I'm half way through, but this is very interesting. I'm not sure if it is canon though. I need to watch all episodes, but it feels a little strange to me that Vos and Ventriss go from Light to Dark and Dark to Light that easy, I always assumed that redemption from the Dark would take a long time, but I'm not sure. Great video though, I feel like watching more Clone Wars episodes now, so thank you.
Dark Disciple is canon. It was originally set to be made into a story arc for TCW, but the show was cancelled before it was completed, so they turned the script into a novel.
I do like redemption stories. It sounds to me like Ventress' tale ended with tragic heroism. She did gain an antihero quality during the show, in spite of her dark side she didn't seem hopelessly evil.
I don't remember her being buried at the end of the novel only her body taken away in a status pod and Vos being told by Obi Wan that she was dead and we know he lies at times I believe it was done to keep Vos in the Jedi order and she can still be alive besides they always bring back fan favorites sooner or later
I loved the Dark Disciple book, but I feel Ventress should have had this story play out on screen, or have another story altogether where we see what she gets up to after order 66.
I wouldn't have minded if they decided to make a live action show about Ventress. I mean it could show flashbacks of the clone wars from her perspective and then continue with her redemption we both know and dont know. Obviously it would be redundant to have yet another bounty hunter show but I could see myself enjoying a few stories of her more adventurous bounty hunting stories. Idk, I could be wrong about it being good but I have a feeling many people would have preferred it to what we got with the Acolyte. Any thoughts of my half assed idea or who might play a good live action Ventress? I was thinking Jojo Siwa. Lmao
I'm kind of sad that she's dead. I was kind of hoping to see her show up in Bad Batch and maybe another Star Wars based show.. She really is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. I had really hoped that she and Ahsoka would become friends some day...
Anyone else ever get the impression the PTB forget the Clone Wars was only 3 years long, the way events are told it seems as though it lasted at least a decade.
I think Disney would change this as they changed much of Canon. We will probebly see her at some point at bad batch. I would say we would see her at rebels but I am sure we wont get more rebels content other then ahsokas show so we will probebly see her at bad batch, possiblly with Bobbas crew
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one dissatisfied with the way Ventress' life ended. It's not necessarily a bad story, but it feels so underwhelming for her--so much more could've been done with her story had it been Vos who sacrificed himself to save her. She would've undoubtedly survived into the age of the Galactic Empire, and had some interesting stories flying under the radar. The way it ends for her just feels... I dunno, anticlimactic? Especially since ultimately she's killed by Dooku, who already betrayed her and then murdered her whole family (using Greivous)... it's just dissatisfying, yknow? I mean, Hell, Maul's demise had been retconned at least twice, to the point HE survived well into the Empire and fights an older Obi Wan... why doesn't Mickey Mouse see the potential in this character? Retcon her "demise", and write some new stories with her. I'd watch it.
It kinda upset me to see ventress’s sisters die like they were doing so well but grevious destroyed the wall and killed mother and the undead woman so the undead army fell and the night sisters died I hate duku he killed the night sisters and many cool clones and I hate palpatine for order66 bc the clones became evil (Tbh i find the storm troopers and vader and ren cool) but the clones are cooler than storm troopers
If Asajj Ventress is ever brought back into an animated series their is no guarantee that this story will remain same or if they will ever use it. Nothing is canon until it's seen on a screen.
Disney has already stated the comics and novels are canon until they are retconned by a newer source. Like the Ahsoka novel and Son of Dathomir, Dark Disciple was made using the unfinished screen drafts of TCW episodes that it was meant to be made into. If Filoni is the one directing the project, there may be a few retcons, but the overall narrative will remain the same.
The cuts you choose to make with the narration often leave repeat statements. This has happened in several recent videos. This one had 2 statements at the end that said the same "this is how her story ended".
Season 7 should have included this as an arc as well as the death of Mother Talzin. It would have explained why Maul was free since he was last seen, he had been taken captive by Palpatine.
Amazing story. I would have changed last part that he did meet court master Palpatine and maybe Palpatine killed V instead of court. I have ideas about what Anakin and Obi-Wan would be doing maybe fighting off General Gevi.
This might sound like a stretch... but if Dave Filloni decides to not follow canon completely in the bad batch series which is currently streaming on Disney plus, they may bring her back there. Not following canon will be quite controversial for Star Wars sweats and for people who read a lot of the comics but bringing back a beloved character who’s story was never completed in full animation to come back and complete her story on there differently would be something most fans would love. This is becoming a larger speculation in my mind at the moment because in the most recent episode of the bad batch ‘Cut and Run’ which is only episode 2, has the actor of Assaj Ventress having a voice over playing a small creature who has a few lines. My speculation is I think there is something bigger going on because I wouldn’t think they would bring the actor back for this tiny role in this episode so I think something bigger is going on but time will tell. Mixing a former apprentice of the dark side with a batch of defective desirable mutated clones would be interesting to say the least. Either that or eventually I’m guaranteeing they will produce a spin off film or series in classic clone wars animation for ‘the dark desiple’ spin off to tell the rest of her story. What do you guys think? Better for them to have her in her own short spin off film/series as the dark disiple and finish her story how it’s told in the comics (canon) or to have her in the bad batch series to have a new story for her and perhaps extend her life so she doesn’t die and doesn’t follow canon?
We deserve more of her, I like the story ending a lot but I find it a bit tragic to realize that we'll not see so much more about her. She has a great character development and her story is really underrated.

Wish we saw more of her and brought back for the ahsoka show. She would be pretty old by the time of the mandalorian.
@@thewarner2139 Cool, thanks mate.
I do like redemption stories. It sounds to me like Ventress' tale ended with tragic heroism. She did gain an antihero quality during the show, in spite of her dark side she didn't seem hopelessly evil.
I agree
now i want to see this in an Animation form
“The bald banshee”
THAT IS GOLDEN
I don't remember her being buried at the end of the novel only her body taken away in a status pod and Vos being told by Obi Wan that she was dead and we know he lies at times I believe it was done to keep Vos in the Jedi order and she can still be alive besides they always bring back fan favorites sooner or later
This needs to be made into a show
I loved the Dark Disciple book, but I feel Ventress should have had this story play out on screen, or have another story altogether where we see what she gets up to after order 66.
I love 💖 the story of Aassj Ventress back in the Clone wars & l know that about Aassj Ventress.
I had really hoped that she and Ahsoka would become friends some day...
please part 3 of what if qui gon trained anakin is needed
Yes
in what media was the story of Quinlan Vos and Ventress told? I don’t think it’s in the clone wars series, so I’m guessing it was a graphic novel?
holy shit i need i mini series on disney + about this
Anyone else ever get the impression the PTB forget the Clone Wars was only 3 years long, the way events are told it seems as though it lasted at least a decade.
I think Disney would change this as they changed much of Canon. We will probebly see her at some point at bad batch. I would say we would see her at rebels but I am sure we wont get more rebels content other then ahsokas show so we will probebly see her at bad batch, possiblly with Bobbas crew
I would love side Star Wars animations like For ventress and boba even one of son of dathomir
Ventress' death was never mentioned because Disney had bought Star Wars at that time.
do a video about if the bad batch went against general grievous.
We need this in the live action Kenobi series
It kinda upset me to see ventress’s sisters die like they were doing so well but grevious destroyed the wall and killed mother and the undead woman so the undead army fell and the night sisters died
I hate duku he killed the night sisters and many cool clones and I hate palpatine for order66 bc the clones became evil
(Tbh i find the storm troopers and vader and ren cool) but the clones are cooler than storm troopers
This Ventress Voss story was in the comics or in the show?
I wish we could have seen this in a clone wars episode
I really want to see this get animated
If Asajj Ventress is ever brought back into an animated series their is no guarantee that this story will remain same or if they will ever use it. Nothing is canon until it's seen on a screen.
Disney has already stated the comics and novels are canon until they are retconned by a newer source. Like the Ahsoka novel and Son of Dathomir, Dark Disciple was made using the unfinished screen drafts of TCW episodes that it was meant to be made into. If Filoni is the one directing the project, there may be a few retcons, but the overall narrative will remain the same.
Dark Disciple is still one of my favorite books
Excellent
Amazing
Her constant hartred for Dooku finally lead her to her death. She could have dropped it all for Vos, but she just couldn't let it go.
I believe in Legends it seemed like she died and survived (or was brought back to life? Can't remember sorry) and her story never continued.
I would love to ventress and voss’s story in animation 🥺
I like that she died in a way that would be seen as a light side effort
Dark Disciple is fully canon and she dies at the end of the book. She's not coming back.
I wish she had her own movie
