But after reading The Art of the Deal and following Trump closely for a long time I can say that he is always maneuvering and planning and thinking about his next steps forward. Exaggerating things is just a strategy so people who watch things or listen or read while drooling and barely taking in the information will actually focus in on the important parts of his message.
It also forces the media to cover it and because what Trump says is mostly truth with some exaggeration they just look stupid attacking it.

But i think its a stretch to say that you cant move up if you dont indulge. Ive never seen anyone not invited just because theyre abstinent. Most people arent drinking to excess anyways, so nobody really cares if someone gets a soda instead of a margarita. Sure, it can help bring you closer to people to share a beer together, but the same can be accomplished through other means (or drinks). If anything in my experience, abstinent people get more respect from others because most people understand how hard it is to resist the peer pressure. And most people also realize that many people who choose to abstain are doing so because they know they have a problem and are showing incredible strength/responsibility/resilience by not drinking.

IM a recovering addict, I suppose I had a drinking problem too. Alcohol was my gateway drug in college, but it turned into me doing oxycodone as a senior at 22. Graduated college, and I got into law school on drugs. Wrote my application essay high on opiates. Ive had many drug phases: weed phase, alcohol phase, opioid phase. Weed was the least harmful, except for brain fog and blowing my money. Nobody will understand how tragic and horrifying addiction is until you or a loved one has been through it. No cure, except for medications and group therapy/personal change. Trumps logic has validity; If you don’t start, you won’t know what you’re missing.

I started with lots of benzos, whatever one I could get my hands on. Then I started using dilauded and got myself clean off of that then just relapsed on Xanax again Friday. Haven’t used today tho and hoping to keep it that way. We gotta stay strong!

@@GAGEDOES you got it bro. Never got deep into benzos, but everything I did them something bad happened. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you relapse; take it very seriously, but don’t beat yourself up too much. If you’re really committed to staying away, the rest will take care of itself. Not many certainties in this life, so I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors.
