The Pixel does it so much better. Just long press the send button and a menu pops up asking exactly when do you want to send the message. Then you hit send and there’s a clock showing it will send at that date and time…..once
This is something I have been waiting to see if you can do this. Had Androids for many many years and switch to Apple and so unhappy that Apple didn't have this feature. Thought of returning my phone due to this three years ago. Thanks so much

You can send the message, clear the message and recipient, disable the shortcut, and enable it when needed again.

I think the phone has to be in use to send the text because I did it for 6:45am when I was asleep and it did not send.
