Anytime you remove the shift bar housing you need to remove the hi low slave bro. Sometimes that interlock pin doesn't come out with it either, just make sure it's out the way before you refit the cover, then you refit the slave/pin.
4:00, I've done 1000's of these with an air hammer, VERY lightly feather the trigger with a bit that is ground flat on the end.
Entire front bearing/input replacement in about 10 min with zero damage.
I NEVER take the top covers off to swap input shafts on this style trans.
That dodge @ 12:30 tho 👌🏽😂
Love the longer repair vids, but....I know you're trying to run a business (not a school), and it's probably a pain to record. Thanks👍.
Thank you! It is more difficult to record the longer videos! But we will make it work!
Never seen someone install input shaft retainer without silicone
Just wanted to know if pdi turner worth getting
When that happens w the bearing i hold the input shaft and pull out at same time/ then i hit the bearing inner race to drive it in all the way
When the bearing is seated and the input shaft is too far in and the snap ring groove is covered like that, I smack the input shaft with my palms side to side and it’ll work the input shaft and bearing out a bit so I can give the installer tool some more hits. Repeat a couple times and it’ll drive it in properly. Wont have to remove the top cover.
I hold and pull the shaft towards me while sending the bearing in with a hammer or mallet till you can see the indentation for the snap ring
I do the same thing but only with a rubber mallet
Send it with the rubber mallet that top cover did not have to come off!
Lmao why did you install input shaft you can see the hub for overdrive and main drive gear is rolled to death gonna be jumping out of gear. It’s need to be rebuilt.
a cheap needle scaler from the usual scum bags would make quick work of cleaning the dirt and rust off the top cover then just blow it off
"From the usual scum bags" 😆
That installer wasn't it lol
