Grazie professore.

This lecture is an accurate short historical summary of Planck's physics work, but other historical accounts exist (in particular, Prof. Malcom Longair's "Theoretical Concepts in Physics: An Alternative View of Theoretical Reasoning in Physics").
Also (at 44:00), Prof. Bottino should emphazise that Einstein, in his 1905 "photoelectric effect" paper (“On a Heuristic Viewpoint Concerning the Production and Transformation of Light”), proposing that all light consists of quantum energy (photons), criticised Plank's derivation of his radiation formula. Einstein pointed out that Plank did not provide any meaningful physical basis or consistent theoretical argument for his proposal. Plank himself accepted Einstein's criticism. Planck introduced the universal constant "h", but Einstein created the first quantum theory in physics.
