      @@terrywood2593 I can’t speak to how long it should take to swap an Enclave engine in a proper shop, but I can speak to this…..How many times must work stop to go get another part that is discovered to be broken or missing? You might have to wait days, like with the fuel injectors in this case. Working in a driveway, in Oklahoma, in the summertime, if the thunderstorms don’t slow you down, the heat will. Mr. Parker has taken on an important job (mobile mechanic) and doesn’t seem to shy away from large projects. In the few videos I’ve seen it appears he is knowledgeable and gives great value for money. Clearly his customers are happy. He’s got my respect. Working too cheap? I think he’ll find that sweet spot that keeps him busy enough and is worth his time. If the market can’t provide that I’m sure he’ll have no trouble finding work elsewhere.

    Loads of these modern engines here in Europe (UK) have weak rockers that break when pistons hit to save doing worse damage. Usually they need valves, rockers, chain kit & they’re good.

If you can, a broken chain guide probably caused it. Get new guides both chains and a new tensioner from GM. Locktite the guide bolts, GM didn't. Thats usually why this happens.       It seems you're a little confused about how pricing works in the automotive repair industry. Allow me shed some light on that subject for you;
      Labor cost is based on time ⏰️. The time each job should take is estimated by the manufacturer. That information is sold/leased to repair shops so your shop knows what is fair to charge. E.g., An engine swap may call for 7.2 hours, while a timing belt service for the same vehicle might call for 5.0 hours. That time is then multiplied by the shops Labor Rate. Let's say your local shop's labor rate is $90/hr. If the timing belt is a 5 hour job x $90/hr, then the labor cost is 450.00.

    Those Ecotec GMC and Chevy are notorious for timing chain disaster. Number one reason: lack of regular oil changes. Also, the way those engines are built is a contributing factor. There is a higher probability for a Honda and Toyota engine to outlast a GMC, Chevy engine because of their design. Im a mechanic nyself and have seen this. But, regardless with these interference engines, changing the oil even before the time interval is preventing a disaster. Some dealerships "recommend" after 5k and even 10k with fully synthetic, don't ever do that....dont wait until you hear that pop sound.
