To add on to that, I think some of the characters he makes aren’t all supposed to be redeemed. Some just do some good stuff but then also bad stuff. Or have terrible qualities almost the entire way and do like one good thing. Or just change from what they used to be.
But none of the characters can really be separated into good or bad in some way. Atleast not using our moral system nowadays.

Mushoku Tensei is one of those shows that sounds like a nightmare when you just describe things out of context which is why it's a great fit for this episode.
Great show tho, it's very much about Rudeus spending his second chance growing out of the trauma and problematic behaviour of his previous life.

He totally misunderstood every single character in this show. Also, a lot of the information he said is just wrong. Paul only cheated on Zenith once which was partly Lilia’s fault. Paul is a genius character showing him struggle with raising a genius child. Eris is technically Rudeus’s cousin, but it’s very distant. There part of the same royal family, but Rudeus is part of a different branch of the Greyrat family.
Real, the way he explained things made a lot of it sound 10 times worse than it was. For instance when he explains "he's first SA", they were children getting ready to bathe after being rained on, but the way he put it made it sound like he did something egregious.

Just wanna say one thing about Paul real quick since you got it wrong, like really really wrong.
He was seduced by the maid did it once that's it. Took her as a second wife but always put his first wife before the maid and basically never did anything with the maid. After his first wife was teleported into a place where she is basically in a sleep state, he only did it with the second wife once over the course of about 6 years and it was only because a monster called a succubus showed up and he wasn't acting like himself. Ever since his family was teleported to random locations in the mass teleportation incident he has searched for them, all have been brought back but his first wife and even though she is in a labyrinth that is extremely dangerous that nobody has conquered he is 100% willing to go in and keep trying over and over again until he gets her out of there. Currently in the anime he feels horrible about it and blames himself for not being able to withstand the succubus effect even though it's impossible for straight men to resist it.
At the end of the day it's all fiction

It's simultaneously the best show I've ever seen and the worst out-of-context show I've ever seen
I get why he's so concerned about the show, but what makes it good is that you're not supposed to like these things. Nobody is a hero. Nobody is a good person. They're all just people at the end of the show and they have flaws and they're problematic and the show respects that. Plus the adventurer is really good and the tone of the show is excellent considering the messed up themes.
It's similar to finding enjoyment out of someone having a meltdown on twitch or something. It's messed up to enjoy it, and you're not applauding it, yet for some reason you just can't look away.

Love, because hey accurate use of how terms were used in time periods close to the setting is cool. Hate, because literally 99% of people won't think hard enough about it to realize they're probably more closely related to their own SO than Rudy is to Eris.

Mushoku fan here, Rudeus definitely grows, but he’s still the massive perv he always is. I personally liked seeing his growth when it came for caring for others and as mentioned a bit on the video overcoming his social anxiety despite regressing at times to his shut-in self after traumatic events.
All of that yet he's still a pervert. Each time the story showed a positive or empathizable aspect of his character it gets countered by the fact that he'd steal a girl's panties or want to get into the panties of some 9 year old looking demon.
It was just too grating to watch into S2.

Only that she'd be knocking _fewer_ dudes thanks to his efforts than otherwise. If she goes two weeks without, she dies. With his implement prototype, she can go a month without. By the end of the quest, IIRC she had to press reset on her curse 3-4 times. Normally that number would be tenfold.

Anime wise, an Akudama Drive fits review would be insane! Can also recommend games like the Star Ocean 2 re-make, Octopath I & II, or Triangle Strategy. They have some nice fashion designs that fit their characters
