thanks for this beautiful upload!
A delightful piece from someone who I believe claims that he was taught composition by Brahms. I find that very hard to believe as Brahms didn't teach anything to anyone according to my records. But still, you can hear an influence of the great man in this piece, especially in the adagio. Oh well, who knows! Great upload.
Thank you very much for your comment, dear David! I only hope that this publication does not contradict an editorial or the interests of any recording company. I just hope it won't be blocked or deleted in a short time.
@@RobertoPintos I do hope not. These people just cannot understand what a fantastic job you are doing in the interests of music. Sadly, it's all about money and not art. :-(
Wow, I am astounded by the variety and quality of your channel! Are these all records that you have? Vielen dank! :)
Gustav Uwe Jenner (3 December 1865 - 29 August 1920) was a German composer, conductor and musical scholar whose chief claim to fame is that he was the only formal composition pupil of Johannes Brahms. As a composer, Jenner concentrated on chamber music (three string quartets, a piano quartet, a trio for clarinet, horn and piano, three violin sonatas, a cello sonata, and other works), choral pieces and songs. Though his music is highly conservative for his time and shows a strong Brahmsian imprint, he was capable of individual expression and his works are always finely wrought. His String Quartet No. 3 in F major has been published by Schott Music and his Piano Quartet in F major has been published by Edition Silvertrust. There is also a serenade for orchestra (1911-12). Jenner published two volumes of recollections of Brahms, Brahms als Mensch, Lehrer und Künstler (Brahms as Man, Teacher, and Artist) (Marburg, 1905) which, viewing Brahms from a unique vantage point, are a valuable biographical source.
