Regarding the "dad joke":
Someone in chat typed ご機嫌な蝶. Which I'm pretty sure is a pun with on “gokigenyou” (an old fashioned greeting) and "cho" (butterfly, aka the boss she just fought). However I am not really sure if this is what she was referencing, it was hard to tell.
I will not be doing this frequently as my Japanese is not the best, I only made this since nobody else did.

hahahahah I remember the Huwaito piggu go hoooo thing. Since I never left my country I never experienced actual racism beside a couple of cracks at my mixed origins, so it was fascinating watching that video.
Got nothing to do with racism. She'd have reacted the exact same way had she accidentally said that to Japanese viewers.
Chat said "go home" translates to "kaere", but "kaere" is the word used to order people to "go away". So if an entertainer says "kaere" to their viewers, it sounds like them saying "I don't need you / I don't want you here, go away". That's why she panicked, because that's literally the last thing you want to say to your viewers by accident.
Source: I'm fluent in Japanese. I've seen Japanese entertainers say this semi-accidentally and panic afterwards when they realize they f***ed up. From a Japanese perspective, hearing a singer or idol or whatever say this to their audience is extremely shocking. Comedians sometimes use this shock value to get laughs.
It basically just boils down to Japanese entertainers being much more polite to their viewers than Western entertainers are, and hence them being more sensitive towards the possibility of accidentally offending viewers.

Aw man, same for me. I saw this green haired anime girl playing Dark Souls and decided to subscribe to her channel on the spot, I didn't even know what Hololive or Nijisanji were at the time.

Looking back at my first clip of rushia... I don't know what to feel rn
Here I am, on July 7th 2021, looking back at the first footage I ever saw of Rushia (way back in February of 2020).
If you're curious as to why she had such a big reaction it's because in Japan sentiments like "Go home" are traditionally considered racist and xenophobic. Like telling someone to "Go back to your own country." Of course Rushia is not racist, and so she felt bad about having accidently said something that, in her culture, is considered racist.

I misread your comment and went on a crusade try to find your « original » comment, only to realize about 15 minutes later that this was in fact, the original comment.
This video sat in my recommended sidebar for ages, never bothered looking at it, eventually I caved in and gave it a watch. Afterwards, Hololive recommendations started flooding in and I found myself watching one after the other. Two years later, watching this now reminds me how thankful I am for Rushia, Hololive, and the countless translators; for introducing me to this world of fun and unique people who I would have otherwise never known about. For all the fun times and joyful memories, thankyou Rushia.
Rushia was literally the VTuber that got me into Hololive and this clip got me into the hole itself, I am truly heartbroken that this was the decision made by Cover, even with the given reasons. It hurts.
