  • Went out in search of some early season river pike, and found exactly that. Fish were hungry and didn't hesitate to crush the fly. Stay tuned, and I hope you enjoy!

    Another great vid, thanks. My daughters like to watch you too, 6 and 8 and good little up and coming little fisherwomen. We're going to be going after bass pretty soon in VT and I know there's a spot where carp spawn we want to check out. Any plans to do a good spring bass vid, or maybe even carp? We'd love to see it and learn something!

    Any steelhead at the pier in south haven do you think? I have nobody to ask other than you.
    Nice Pike! I've never caught them on flies. I use spoons down deep when i pike fish.

    • @peelindrag113
      @peelindrag113  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never been real good locating steelhead from peirs, they can be there one day and gone the next. Your best bet would probably be to call a baitshop around the area.

    Again great vid, really enjoy your work. I'm just starting to fly fish for pike, and want to ask you how do you make your flies sink (brake te surface), do you use some special sinking leader, or is fluorocarbon enough? thanks! Boris

    • @peelindrag113
      @peelindrag113  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn't doing anything specific to make the fly sink in this video, although did have a wire and fluoro leader which will pull it down a little as you mentioned. The flies I fish for pike normally are roughly a foot under the surface when fished on floating fly line. You can also run different types of sinking fly lines to get the fly a bit deeper, or use heavier hooks/ wrap some lead wire around the hook when tying the fly. Good luck out there!
