and i dont want to feed raw meat, so can i feed frozen thawed mice?
How did you get yours on raw? Mine won't even eat wet food. We just adopted them this week and they both are very skinny and both have health issues (one has insulinoma, the other has adrenal disease.) I want to give them more nutritious food than kibble, but kibble is all they will take :(
My wife is an exotic vet so she is going to take good care of their medical issues, but these are our first ferrets, and behavioral things like switching foods are new to me.

It took about 3 months to get Luna onto raw, most ferrets don't take to it right away.

Do you clean their cage fully ever day?
I clean the platform they eat on daily, but I only do a full wash like that once a week lol
Every single pet routine video I have ever seen is they say they set up a camera when they tried to go to sleep but somehow wake up with a full face of makeup.
I'm pretty active in the fish community, been a fish keeper for 13 years (axolotl keeper for 2) and you're doing great especially for a novice keeper
I'm honestly not sure why the community is so hostile towards people who try their best when we have to hear about betas and goldfish in cups at least weekly

If you move into a house you should use a room for your ferrets
How many times should a Ferret eat a day? And can they be given cooked meat or just raw?
They are so spoiled and know it. Or most of it, that's an expensive breakfast lol
I also keep my fuzzy babies out 80%. Only in cage to sleep and go out.

Hey! I’m looking to rehome some ferrets in the near future but I was just wondering; how do you make sure that each individual ferret gets the correct balance of nutrients when they all eat out of the same bowl? ❤️
My ferret will not use the bottom half of her cage. Is there anything I can do? She doesn't like going down ramps at all

@@Izzy-zk5ix it depends on the ferret! I only do breakfast and dinner but sometimes kits need meals 3 times a day (because they’re black holes) and some senior ferrets need meals 3 times a day (to stabilize blood sugar). Keep in mind that this only applies to raw fed ferrets, on kibble ferrets need access 24/7 because it digests differently.

I guess I'm pretty lucky so far, since my Ferlin the Ferret hardly ever poops or pees on the floor. Even if we are playing and he feels the urge, he goes to his place and poops. BTW, what type of material do you use in the dig box? I would love to make one for my Ferlin.

My ferrets are actually 100% potty trained! They've only had a few accidents in their life and I only have one litter box for them and don't use puppy pads. I guess I just got lucky lol

Maybe I just do somthing different but my ferrets cage never smells and I don’t understand why? Like I clean it maybe once every two months. But my ferret (only one because he has issues from being beat up by another aggressive ferret and scared of every other ferret) but he really isn’t messy I don’t feed him in his cage so he doesn’t get meat everywhere maybe that’s why I don’t need to clean it but he also doesn’t stink at all unless I forget to clean his litter box
My girls cage doesn't really smell either (or maybe I'm just nose blind). I like to clean it once a week because they'll get little poop skids around the litter boxes and to get rid of any hair/dander. Not everything dirty is visible to the naked eye. But since you only have the one, cleaning it less often makes sense. With 5 the cage would be a disaster if I waited 2 months between cleans!!

I see the red barn dog chews do you give them to your ferrets? I feed them to my dog. I actually have some now. An ive been trying to figure out treats to give my ferret.
I believe those ones were just dehydrated lamb lung. So long as they're one ingredient, ferrets can eat them but the chews may be a little too hard. Nova really likes beef esophagus chews (these are the ones I get her: www.petvalu.com/ca/product/limited-natural-beef-esophagus/FCM04449CA) but I always get her the thinnest ones I can find. Things like bully sticks are going to probably be too hard for the average ferret.
I just ordered another ferret nation cage to have my cage with 4 boxes. And I have went to my work (thrift store) to buy more material and blankets for their cage, and the only stuff I liked happened to be the exact colors for the powerpuff girls (including bunny) so I just decided to make it a powerpuff girl themed cage. But dont want to do it yet till they master the litter box better. Some of them dont care what is in the corner, they will poop on it lol. So for now they just have normal blankets and no theme. lol. half of them are SO stubborn about the box lol.
One of my girls are so much like this, I have a critter nation, and I have to have two if them sperated from the youngest because she's sick current, but my middle with poop in the food bowl if its in the corner. Its gross 😅
@@Roses_from_isa yeah I that used to happen to me too. She finally gave that a break... sometimes I'll see her go in the box, get in position and just think to herself " nah this doesn't feel right" and leave the box and go immediately poop anywhere else lol. I just put corner boxes in some of the corners. And for some reason she uses THOSE. Like really? You prefer small cramped corner boxes to a high wall large box with lots of space? Lol. She even used to scoot back so high in the box she would elevate her butt up and over the edge. She hates that box lol

what dirt did you use for the box?
Dig boxes can be filled with lots of different things: non instant raw rice, uncooked macaroni noodles, uncooked kidney beans, biodegradable packing peanuts, substrate, and dirt! It all depends on your ferrets and how they react to things. If you're using dirt, make sure it's 100% organic with no added fertilizers or anything artificial. I actually was using substrate in my dig box. It was the Zoo Med Echo Earth Compressed Coconut Fiber Substrate: zoomed.com/eco-earth-coconut-fiber-substrate/

It came with Luna when I adopted her from her foster home, so I don't know D': It's one of my girls favourite hammocks though! If you search "ferret cube hammock" on etsy, lots of similar ones come up

before i can get my ferrets to eat raw I need to transfer them to the best kibble and I try looking up the best and all that comes up is Marshall’s 🤢 so if anyone can help what’s some good kibble I can feed them , other than ziwi peak.

Hahahaha they really aren't discreet with it tho, because mine have to show me what they've done before they go on with their day😂

idk bout ferrets, but i scrub my hamsters dishes with just a toothbrush and water!
I just use good 'ol soap and water! Just make sure to rinse them out really well ^-^ I normally recommend glass or metal dishes as they hold less bacteria than plastic ones. Best of luck with your new ferrets!

I love these videos I am getting ferrets in 1-3 months and I love these because it just shows me the joy of ferrets and how you can tell how happy they make the owners
