- Arda Guler is the new wonderkid on the block. He put his name on the map after a terrific EURO, scoring a GOLAZOOOO. There is one player who gets compared to Guler nonstop. Maybe due to heritage or because he plays for Real Madrid... But there's another player Arda plays like. I even believe Arda Guler will destroy his career if he plays like Ozil. Ozil is a classic 10 and that is no longer compatible with today's game

Ozil is not bad influence. His game was evolved when strategies were different. There was no demand for all action midfielders but specialists defensive and attacking midfielders... As the rules change and develop the demand for players in Ozil position may become popular again in the future.
It’s possible as the game moves in cycles but I can’t see it happening anytime soon. Nowadays the players are expected to be so complete. But it would be fun to see the return of old school #10s
@OnTh3Ball it depends on how the rule changes. We are starting to slowly see rhis season on the effects of librealisation of offside rules as teams are trying more thru balls. If the offside trap and highline becomes too risky I can see the return of the traditional 10 to exploit the gap between MF and DF. If that gap appears to be exploitable we might see more physical CDMs in the mould of Roy Keane and Gattuso deployed to cover that space.
@@findingaether Good take, with Wenger and FIFA relaxing the offside rule, it means more space in between the lines for playmakers, especially now that many teams are using fast #9s like Mbappe, Haaland, Hojlund and Osimhen
Arda is currently one of the 5 players with the best game vision in the world. He is a true playmaker and passer. Yamal is good at speed and dribbling, and in everything else, his passing ,shooting, technique is ahead of him. Yamal and Barça were lucky not to let Carlo play.
His playmaking yesterday was superb. I really hope injuries don't ruin him. Him and Yamal are going to be getting a crazy amount of assists in future

I think the most suitable role for Arda is playmaker right winger. Because he is very dangerous when he is close to the box. Modric and Kroos were never that threatining in terms of scoring. Arda should play RW because of these.
That’s a good point, his shots from the RW are amazing. Tbf though, Modric & Kroos both played higher up or wide at Bayern & Tottenham
arda is still physically weak. he continues to work with the help of a trainer. if he continues at this pace, he will turn into a player who defends more, runs more and helps more defensively. since his offensive qualities are already excellent, he will probably reap the fruits of all this work in the 2025 season. i think he still needs time. he just needs to keep working.
