No one is mentioning the RM factor: Mbappe is at RM now, where the best go to put their head above the rest. I'd be excited to see TAA go there, he'd grow up.
Someone's gonna learn to be a more complete player. I don't want it to be Rodrygo, I think he's the most useful out of the lot, just the least glamourous. Time for Mbappe to learn the chalk on the right touchline.

This one won't grow. As a matter of fact, Mbappe won't ever win a UCL at Madrid. They need a Toni Kroos in Midfield. That's why they are trying to sign Rodri.

Madrid fan and tactics enthusiast here. You're probably one of the few football analysts (first youtube-focused one) that seem to get it right, at least from my point of view.
Please, remember that maybe you dont make as much numbers as others with a... "special" approach, but please, mate, keep up with your style and focus, a lot of us are really grateful about your content. Maybe we're not as much, but we know how to value quality, cold-minded analysis and content.

    Good stuff!
The loss of Kroos is more critical to their performance than the inclusion and integration of Mbappe.
As you pointed out, besides Modric, all their other MFs are very attack minded and don't naturally seem to focus on tempo setting. Modric could feature a bit more, although I could see them becoming more of a counter attacking unit.... making use of the athletic and dynamic nature of most of their MFs and forwards.

Modric changed his style though. Not really anymore that playmaking maestro anymore like he was at his prime. Regardless of losing Kroos and I do think they do need that deep lying play maker like Kroos. The team already adjusting. Frontline already doing more ball carrying then pouncing on space like Carlos suggesting. Just need time to gel and adapt to new offense. Same way they did when Benzema left.

They have classic Klopp style team but they can adapt RDZ approach while building from the back. I would line the team in a 4-2-3-1 with Bellingham and Mbappe acting as the 2 false nines (putting Rodrygo in the mix), with Vini and Arda playing as the Inverted Wingers and Tchoumeni and Valverde as the DM as this team has more 3rd man runners instead of one playmaker controlling the pitch. I would shift Camavinga to left back if starting him and play Alaba entirely as a CB.

Bale and Benzema were cool taking more of a supporting role to CR7, Kroos and Modric were happy making plays without getting the spotlight on ESPN. I love Madrid and from my own perspective I strongly believe the way forward is with our custom 4-3-3. And I don’t know who else sees it but vini can learn to become a deadly number 9. Sometimes his little cameos just makes me believe, look at the game vs Bayern and just the one against Villarreal those are just the few. mbappe for me is struggling because he is forcing things, he wants to score maybe to ease the pressure because from the way people comment they expect him to score a brace every game. But if u go back to watch the games u will see so many openings to pass maybe to guler or to vini but he chooses to shoot which is okay but when the scoreline is close like that u need to think bigger.. but he will adapt eventually and they will click. Another talking point , with this calibre of players you can’t be chasing the ball half the time Madrid is chasing the ball even against supposedly smaller teams and this has been the game plan since last season . It will not work , u need players like mbappe vini Jude and rodrygo to constantly be on the ball.

I'm sure once they click Real will be unstoppable, but i still think it was Mbappe who needed Real, and not the other way around. Honestly i feel like someone like Oshimhen would be a better option as a Striker, being able to play as a normal 9 that Vini, Beli and Rodry could play off, but he's also dynamic and technical to play more combinations.
But as they currently stand i feel like there should be someone on right side. Someone like Hakimi or especially Frimpong would fit soo well in that system, providing natural widht and attacking option while the rest happens on left side.

    • @abody499

osimhen isn't a good enough player for Real Madrid. He also goes to Afcon, which is held in a crucial time of the season for Spanish teams.
Hakimi was sold because he wasn't good enough to challenge Carvajal. While he is possibly equal in an attacking sense, that's not Carvajal's primary role, which is where Hakimi falls short - in defence.
And stop saying you feel like for every thought claim or idea. you're all going around like parrots.

I need thoughts on this from anyone. Since Toni Kroos left and there is going to be less focus on controlling tempo but in more of an attacking mindset but do you guys have any like players that could at least fill somewhat of what Kroos left? What I had in mind is either like a Bernardo Silva or Trent, guys who are creative and do a lot in MF control but Toni Kroos leaving is going to have some getting used to for Madrid so yeahh

Jude could potentially do a double 8/10 with Valverde for better build up, since he's actually more a playmaker and only became a shadow striker out of necessity.
The other option in the current team to me is Alaba who can be the creator from behind as LB or even as a CM like Flick used him at Bayern.

I don't know where this noise is coming from but I have never doubted that Vinicius, Mbappe and the others would be able to play together. Quality players always find a way. But I think it would be wrong to say Vini and Mbappe are the same type of players. I see Vini as more of a Neymar-type, a quick ball carrier who can be a menace to the full back. Mbappe is a more direct type of player who can find the goal from almost anywhere in the attacking area. He is more of the Cristiano at Real Madrid type.

Dont let the media make up your mind about Mbappé. Watch him, he's a left winger not a striker. He can only find the net from the left wing, nowhere else. Cant pass, is shit at set pieces, cant be a target man, cant shoot from outside the box. Stop pretending he's a new cristiano, he isnt even one third of cristiano

Madrid fans can say what they want but without kroos, mbappe is your only chance in repeating this year in the champions league. The 4-2-4 in with tchouameni Bellingham and camavinga in the middle in those big matches like against city might work. Especially with all the counter attacking pace. Imagine if they signed either Gyokeres, Lautaro Martinez, Osimhen, Isak or even Watkins - they would all make more sense in that front 3.. Instead they are signing a guy who has been complaining about being a CF for years, and they put him as CF.. The signing never made sense.. Change my mind.. Even Jude is a better CF than Kylian
