Your work is really great ! I can feel that you put so much effort to your project, wish i could applying Architecture schools after graduate from civil engineering !!~~
It seems like a variety of control lines with different angles and curves make the architect cool and complex. In some Asian arch schools, students still used to utilizes vertical and horizontal architecture languages. Could you plz give some tips for ones to take a step to the free and relatively complex form?
@@EthnieXu Thank you. And I didn't mean the software and drawing skills. It seems lots of architecture of NURBS presents forms and aesthetic values rather than other elements. I may reserve my opinion about this question. Maybe I have a limited comprehension of architecture education programs in American.
I’m studying in USYD arch and I was so surprised when you introduced your second year project because the model is displayed on the second level of Wilkinson atm!!
Hi Ethnie! As a fellow highschool architecture student who is also apart of the "Xu" family, I have to say that I am amazed! By any chance do you have any information about yourself from the undergraduate times of your college years? What college you went to or what your portfolio looked like?
Hi! Thank you so much, this means so much to me! Yes, I have shared my portfolio in other videos before and I’m planning to make more content on my personal journey.
Hi Ethnie! I'm also applying this year for the master's and decided to make my portfolio with Adobe Illustrator, but is there a better option, and what program have you used for making your portfolio?
Thank you for sharing! I know some schools limit the number of pages you can have in a portfolio (e.g. UC Berkeley requires no more than 20 pages). Did you send your entire portfolio to all the schools you applied to?
Nice portfolio. Congratulations. But I have question Is there any way to download portfolio to read?or is there any telegram page that we download this portfolio?
Really nice work, congrats! I just wonder how many pages u can have in an application? I thought to Columbia it is only 20, but you have more so I just want to know how it is counting. I am going to apply next year.
great portfolio! quastion: (earthquake project) why did you cover the rooms and lit them only with indirect light(from the top)? Could you explain the logic behind the form? It is not very clear what were you trying to solve, (at least for me) :D, overall good job
Looks great, could you run down the programs you used for the diagrams. Id like to buy an ipad pro and was hoping if you could do this on that. Do you use PC? Archicad, Revit? Are you a wizz in Photoshop?
Hi I was wondering how you got architecture experience or knowledge before high school, like does high school provide the info for you or do you need to do something else? I saw on you portfolio some blue print designs (architectural work). I’m a 14 about to go to high school and I want to be prepared. Thanks.
i just finished my ba in berlin with the best possible grade as the best student of my year and I must admit my work looks so shitty in comparison to yours haha
Hi, nice video. You did a lot of work and show it in very small images, Why?? I understand that you need to resume a project, with the sacrifice of the information with small images? that´s a problem. I am in a 27 inch monitor, and i couldnt see right your images and the information that you are trying to show´. Less images, bigger format (maybe more pages or a better resume). Nice work and i nice day ;)
This is really cool! The level of design and detail on a second-year project is outstanding. Congrats and thanks for sharing your portfolio! 🙏
This is inspiring! I'm currently working on my portfolio for master's your work inspired me a lot!
Thank you for sharing! This is very interesting to watch since I'm thinking about applying to architecture schools too!
Thanks! Glad to hear 😁

Awesome work - really advanced drawing skills too. Well done!

Generally softwares like rhino and maya are good for making curved shapes :)

One of the best models ever made in Wilkinson!

so, this was your ug college application portfolio which you made in highschool? Phenomenal!🙏
No I made this in undergrad! But thank you!!
@@EthnieXuSo did you apply for master with this ?
Beautiful and neat.

Use a pc!! Most programs only work on pc. sure you can draw on ipad but very rudimental comparing to a cad or vectorline program.
that's so great!! I wanna know how to attend GSD summer school?
Nice work !

Hello Sis Ethnie, May I know about the undergraduate architecture? Do we need to submit portfolio if we’re applying for B Arch?
Thank you for sharing this with us. Great portfolio and projects. Is GPA important? I was wondering could you please share with us GPA also?
Congratulations. Which program did you use prepare the portfolio.
Any recommendation for someone who’s gonna apply for Grad School in the States. Love your portfolio.
Thank you! I guess time management is a key point!
Great ideas ! Love them ! I'm just curious which one did u go to in the end, is it Yale ~? ( And do we have the same sur name ?!)
Yes Yale
@@EthnieXu 😊 Awesome!
Very nice portfolio! Really successful layout and overall theme. I was just wondering if you’d be willing to share your undergrad GPA
Thanks for your suggestion! ✨

Does our thesis topic choice matter while appling for masters
Is it must to submit portfolio on the deadline of admission or you can submit it later?
You should submit before deadline 😅
