Why is Victor animated way better than the rest? It's like his skating animation was done by a completely different studio
I remember reading that each character in the series was animated by a different team so they would look different, even though all but one were modeled on the same male skater. (Yurio's model was female).
Fun fact: Yurio’s model is Yulia Lipnitskaya, who I believe won the Olympics when she was 15! Look up her free skate from what I believe was 2014(?) it was based on the Schindler’s List and is absolutely amazing. She doesn’t compete anymore because of an injury and severe anorexia, but she was absolutely amazing.

Also - this just occurred to me, and be patient with me because it's just a theory - at the point when the story begins, Victor is polished, a "finished product". An athlete and artist everyone looks up to. Yuuri and Yurio are in "rougher" stages of the competitive careers, so maybe this is why their animation appears less polished than Victor's?
That's how Yuuri sees Victor in the beginning. A perfect, unattainable ice-god.
After all this time I still can't get over the fact that Yuko named her kids after figure skating jumps. Like just imagine calling your daughters Backflip, Spread Eagle, Spin. I can't with this😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’m revisiting this anime after a lot of change in my life. I watched this anime during a really special and unsure point in my older childhood and now I’ve completely changed. I ran across the theme song yesterday and started sobbing. This anime was something that kept me afloat, and I had forgotten about it for so long. This anime is seriously super special to me and I just wanted to let y’all know that for some reason lol. So yeah, I’m gonna cry throughout the rest of quarantine, peace ✌🏻

I watched this when it first aired and come back to it every December. Such beautiful show, I love all the characters, the animation, the MUSIC, the fandom and how it never seems to die! I send hugs to anyone watching this in social isolation as well!

If anyone is wondering about the title, pirozhki are an oval shaped bun that have a variety of fillings like meats, potato and cabbage. They can be found not only in Russia but in a bunch of other countries in Asia and Europe as well. They taste so good!
