Hi friends! IF you notice any weird cuts within this video please now it is because this video was sponsored by a company that I am now aware is not a good company. If any of you were harmed by my sponsorship and utilized this company, I am so sincerely sorry. Thank you to everyone in my comments who called them out.
I think the Universe sent me to your channel today. I’m a book-and-clothes maximalist and neurodivergent. I desperately need to declutter and clean, and I think you’ve given me some help with the task initiation. I love that you are so gentle and non-shaming, and I LOVE the calm piano music you pick for your videos (I’m also a pianist!) thanks for all the work you put into your content.
Thank you for repeatedly mentioning “mess is morally neutral”. I’m a SAHM to 3 boys at very different ages and while I try hard to keep up with the mess, it can sometimes become a conflicting thing for me when I choose to let the mess go. It’s okay to focus on your littles and if a mess develops, so be it. Sometimes I need that validated.
I love that you don't feel pressured to get rid of your "too much" stuff. I have way more clothes and makeup and knickknacks than anyone else in my family(no one else is into any kind of fashion or aesthetic) and they tend to act like I have way "too much" stuff. But I (like you) actually have a fairly curated closet, of I don't use something I will get rid of it! Some people use more stuff and if you find a system that works that's perfectly fine!!
Your room and closet turned out very nice, Kristina! I love how creative you are when it comes to storage. You are always so genuine and sincere. As a school counselor, I appreciated your sponsored content. Talking about mental health is so important and should be completely normalized.
I don't understand when people say you should get rid of more of your stuff, not everyone wants to live with the bare minimum items. I don't and I have alot of things that are linked with memories and seeing and using those items brings back those moments with people who are no longer here.
thank you i needed this badly i have PTSD MY PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE IWILL start 1 room at a time and plan my day better thank you so much for being brave and helping a lot of people that think they are the only one
i need to clean out my bedroom today and i truly believe - fully, wholeheartedly, that i have undiagnosed adhd that is so severe, it interrupts with many aspects of my life. i am just getting the courage to seek help for it, but this video meant a lot to me, because it was very genuine, raw, real, endearing, relatable and helpful. it did calm me and give me the confidence i needed to begin sorting my own chaos… thank you, sincerely.
So I don't have ADHD (I have assorted issues mental and physical) and I find that lists are key in my case. If something occurs to me as I'm cleaning that is unrelated to the room I'm working on I write it down in my pocket sized notebook. Or any maintenance issues like gluing down a piece of veneer or a loose knob. It lets my brain not get hung up on that little issue desperately trying not to forget. I suffer from short term memory retention issues but it probably applies to people who have trouble retaining a bunch of details at once also. It also helps get rid of that "kicking myself because I forgot to mention/take care of" whatever it was feeling. Major plus for anxiety. Another tip I have is make a list of things that are easily accomplished on days where you're having a hard time. Mentally or physically. For example, on days I'm anxious, watering all my plants helps calm me down. So does ironing for whatever reason. On days my fibromyalgia is making moving challenging I try to fold laundry or do prep work that doesn't take much moving. Chopping vegetables while sitting at the table for example. Handling paperwork etc. Then of course the days when my body and brain don't work? My kids and I put on ambience videos and "camp" on the couch for a while. Just because you're a home maker doesn't mean that's all you are. There's no shame in keeping yourself from collapsing by over doing it. Almost every one of the conditions I have are exacerbated by doing too much for too long without rest. I imagine that's true for most conditions/syndromes etc. I normally don't comment but felt like maybe someone could benefit from some suggestions. Retro Claude is actually who made me think of the "bad day list". She has a physical condition and mentioned she has to think through what steps take what type of movement in one of her videos and it struck me as a brilliant observation.
Thank you for the suggestions. I have bad movement days sometimes or my chest is bad and I'm coughing. I try to do more restful things on alternate days now, and going out exhausts, drains me so next day has to be more restful. I think so many people are feeling this way now, anxiety etc, it is a feature of the times we live in and the three years we have just lived through which I can't name on here or I'll get banned and Kristina could get a strike. I would feel so bad if that happened. I think we all could do with reminding ourselves what we have come through.
Thank you Kristina! Good job! You have SO many pretty things! From your containers in your closet to your shoes and dresses… wow. We all appreciate you.
I love this Kristina! Fellow neurodivergent here. I totally sympathize with you about feeling like it's so much harder to get things done but not understanding why. It caused me a lot of anxiety until I realized that it was not entirely my fault! Finding out I have ADHD has honestly been a blessing. I understand myself a lot better and I'm a lot more forgiving with myself. I'm not sure what you've tried so far for keeping some kind of routine but I got myself a magnetic whiteboard and I listed out the weekly, monthly, every 3-6 months, and daily things that need doing. I've been putting a checkmark next to the task once it's done. I've found this to be really helpful because I can see it but I also don't have a set in stone day for getting whatever it is done. I tried in the past to make like a weekly schedule and do certain things on certain days but that got to be too rigid for me and too overwhelming and tedious to plan out. I like the whiteboard so far because it shows me what I still need to do without me having to remember. I don't feel like I have to do everything all at once but I also have the freedom to knock out a bunch of things in one day if I feel the motivation to do so! I also found a cool notepad at Target that helps prioritize tasks with "Things I must do" , "things I postponed (but need to do)" and "bonus points if I get these done" categories as well as one for procrastination. I've been using this for jotting down reminders to pay bills, make appointments, etc as well as reminding myself of what I didn't do from the list of housework the previous week. Sorry for the super long comment but I hope it helps and this video was really relatable for me. It's nice to know it isn't just me who has a hard time staying organized and on top of clutter
Oh my goodness you could be writing about me. It is not a whiteboard here but lists and plans. I think I was more organised when I worked full time and only lived in an apartment and was much younger and energetic. Now I am retired and the energy to finish things just isn't there, cleaning tasks seem monumental and the garden is big and surrounded by trees that constantly drop stuff. Not my trees, mostly. I absolutely could not cope with getting everything out onto the bed etc. Has to be section by section, drawer by drawer, for me.
I'm so glad you're not hiding your mental health struggles. I struggle with anxiety, bipolar disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, body image. The world needs to know we are not defective or "less than" or lazy or . . . Good for you for acknowledging you need help and reaching out to get it. And I like that you use various things you have around for organizing the closet. It makes it YOUR aesthetic and not like anyone else's. It's a gorgeous spring day in the beautiful Pacific Northwest so I am off outside. 💐🌸🏵🌹🌻🌼🌷🌱🌳
It looks great! Some people have less "stuff", some people have more "stuff". How to organize it is a personal thing. Having kids makes "stuff" turn into "STUFF". Finding the time and energy to do what you did in this video takes effort and planning. You're absolutely on point about how this works for you and what your intentions are in presenting this to us, and as always, you've done a beautiful job. You cleaned and organized, and filmed and edited! Those are some serious tasks! Thank you and all the love back to you and your family.
I have used a tension shower rod and sheets (threading the rod through the large top pockets) to cover closet areas. My brain immediately calms down with less to look at. Blue is your color.
I've started to rewatch & loop your cleaning videos. They're so enjoyable & relaxing to watch, plus motivational. When you opened up about your ADHD I could relate to you on another level. The internet does not have enough vintage content to satiate my needs, so I'm grateful I have your channel that I can keep coming back to ❤
“Mess is morally neutral.” What an incredible statement. I’ve been shamed over my housekeeping struggles for many years now. It’s not such an active shaming now, but the burden remains. Anyway. Thank you for this statement. I almost want to design some word art around it and frame it. I also believe I have inattentive adhd, all signs point that way. School teachers tried to convince my mom to have me tested as a child but when I was a kid times were different and I would have been essentially set aside and labeled, and she wouldn’t allow it…so no evaluation ever took place.
Even if you aren't officially diagnosed, paying attention to your needs as possible ADHD is imperative to living a satisfying life. I was "quasi-diagnosed" by my primary care physician YEARS ago, but didn't choose to get the official diagnosis, because I wasn't interested in being medicated, and didn't realize that coaching was available...or maybe it wasn't back then -- it was about 15 years ago. I'm 57 now, and using tools I've found at How to ADHD and Tracey Marks here at TH-cam which have helped me to level up the coping techniques I had established through trial and error over the decades. It's good to hear that you are acknowledging this aspect of how your brain works, and finding what your brain needs to create the habits which will create a welcoming and safe haven within your home.
I just started deep cleaning my bedroom (my spring clean was interrupted by a knee injury). Your video is helping. Especially with the “it’s okay to pause when getting overwhelm and you need a snack because you realize that your getting hungry” advice.
Thank you!!! This is what I needed today. Third cleaning with me video I've watched today trying to get motivated, and the idea of doing it in short bursts made complete sense to my brain!!! Bless you for speaking to my ADHD brain!!!
Haha right? I need to see what's in there so I don't forget about it. That's why I want some sort of system where at least the bins all match, so it's a little calmer!
I admire the fact that you can get anything done with 5 kids. I also really admire that you are a true housewife. As strange as it sounds in this day and age, the hope I had for myself was to get married and basically be a housewife. Well, I got married, but the housewife has never really materialized. Both hubby and I have/had full time jobs outside the home and we have one grown daughter who still lives with us. I’m now planning to “retire” in 5 years and pursue a more “relaxed” life. Hopefully my husband will still be around to enjoy it with me.
Im so proud of you ❤ Fellow neurodivergent here, hi 👋 I have ADD and asperger syndrome, so I get easily "stuck" on things, so closet cleaning can easily take days 😅 I have found very helpful, that first I pull everything out, then make smaller piles like t-shirt pile, dress pile etc, and then look everything should I keep it?, does it fit? and so on, then fold to closet those things im keeping in order, but most important thing doing that is while im doing that, I listen videos like this 🤗😘
You’re video was so realistic. Things happen more slowly for most of us. I can only complete 3 things a day . Knowing that keeps me from comparing myself to other organizational systems. I can not handle emptying out large amounts of things to sort, but need to use a smaller system.
I just watched this episode today, and I know I'm all over the place, time wise, with your videos...but in one of the wardrobe videos I watched recently, you pulled out an adorable peachy print halter dress with blue gingham trim, and you mentioned that blue isn't one of your favorite colors. Kristina, I see that you are wearing an absolutely gorgeous blue floral dress in the first part of this video, and you are glowing. I think vibrant blues deserve a re-think from you, because that color range certainly likes YOU!
I am not traditionally neurodivergent but I have a brain injury and experience a lot of the symptoms of ADHD as well as I have a history of trauma. I also have a diastasis and have had major depressive disorder, with anxiety, ptsd and with my first couple of pregnancies, I had terrible PPD. Everything you said made so much sense to me and I really appreciate your vulnerability! You are definitely not alone! Well done on your room, by the way!
I've just had my ex partner move out and the house is a mess, but would like to say i got my bathroom mostly organised while watching along with this, thank you so much, I feel like a chaotic, cluttered mess constantly and don't even have children, so please know these videos are amazing and help at least me get something done despite my cluttered brain struggling. I love your content, I find it super inspirational, thank you for sharing this with us all x
I love your vintage luggage storage idea, especially the stack that looks like a little dresser. It is good to see a video that doesn't just finish in a bare white room! Thank you
Thank you for being real. I only have been medicated for my ADHD for 5 years of my just a bit past 50. You made me feel so much more ok. My mom has not and does not get my neurodivergent brain nor my daughters. We have be put down, made fun of, called things such as slob. Thank you again.
I am def an emotional hoarder with everything but clothes are def a very very tough one! I am proud of myself though because these past few years I have done REALLY well with letting things go. It took a long time, I'm 35 and within these past few years I have gotten rid of things that I have had since Middle and H.S. ...some people do not truly understand how much it has an impact on you keeping things, emotional hoarding is def a difficult situation to deal with. I love your videos and the way you are so transparent! It's a joy to watch you.
Thank you Kristina for another great video! You are very brave to film your personal journey and struggles. Being a mom is never easy and you are doing an awesome job it reflects on your children as they are happy and thriving. Can't wait to see your next video, keep them coming! Much love to you! ❤
Hello lovely! This was a wonderful relatable video! I remember this time in my life very well, with small children cleaning and tidying doesn't seem end. It's very overwhelming and with your ADHD it can be amplified! I hear you and I see you! Thankfully this is just a chapter in your life , you've got this mama bear! Your room looks awesome now!!!xx
That journal is beautiful, where did you get it? You've made wonderful progress and as you learn more about how your specific brain functions you'll make even more.
Kudos to you for completing such a aunting task. I have a few recommendations for you, and I hope you're open to them. I start spring housecleaning in January, so I'm available for gardening in the spring. I allot one week for each room but the kitchen -- it gets two weeks, small jobs each day. I start with washing the ceiling and the light fixtures, then move down to the cupboards, which are sorted and cleaned inside and out. Then I clean everything on the counters and use car wax to polish the old Formica countertops. I clean out the refrigerator and range hood, and set the self-cleaning oven another day, then proceed to the lower cabinets. Last, I pressure-wash my kitchen rug and scrub & polish the floor while the rug dries in the sunshine. I pretty much follow the same system in every other room, top to bottom, only one or two tasks each day, sorting & decluttering as I go. When my children were young, I only cleaned when they were napping, so I had no interruptions and could be fully attentive to them while they were up. My son is autistic with ADD and required a lot of direction and coaching; I'm OCD, a "recovering" Type-A. Like you, I have a hard time parting with clothes, especially my homemade fashions. I put my heart into each of my creations, and it's tough to let them go. You've inspired me to dig through storage bins and pull out for donation all the things someone else might enjoy.
Kristina -just found and subscribed to your channel -love it! FlyLady system changed my life/clutter situation. It is perfect for us "sidetracked household executives" (especially those of us with ADHD and CHAOS "can't-have-anyone-over-syndrome". FlyLady says "you can't organize clutter" and has you set your kitchen timer and declutter for 15 min.) The system gives us so much extra free time and keeps your house clean EASILY in minimum time.❤ I would love to see a video of you trying the FlyLady system sometime and feel that it would truly bless you❤
Thank you so much for this honestly cuz I also have ADHD and depression and my house gets really gross and I try to watch other people cleaning for motivation to clean my own space and they're all cleaning stuff that in my opinion is already clean and just disorganized and that does not help me because it makes me feel like a piece of s*** for never cleaning but this is real. there's dirt on the floor It's an actual cleaning video and this is the type of cleaning video that I need because it helped me clean up my mess which is slightly worse than this. I spend so much time avoiding the overwhelming mess More time than it would take to clean it so thank you because this is actually going to help me a lot.
What helps me is having a stick vacuum cleaner. No wires or hoses to trip over. The battery will only last for about 15mins so I move fast and get as much done as I can. There is always tomorrow. Well, usually anyway, I know one day there won't be but I won't care then, will I?
I loved this! This was inspiring and encouraging. I really appreciate not having a goal of perfection. My home will never be perfect or stay aesthetically pleasing and that has often made me feel defeated. Thank you!
I love this video so much!!!! Thank you for your honesty and transparency when it comes to managing your neurodivergence, being a mom, and a wife. You’re videos help me focus on my own messy house and I’m actually making headway in tackling the mess. Keep up the great work❤ from WNY ❤
Coming late to the party. I’m pretty sure my brain is neuro divergent too, but I’ve never had a diagnosis. ADHD? Somewhere on the spectrum? I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure I’m not “normal”. Anyway, I totally understand the overwhelming feeling you have with clutter. My brain tends to either completely shut down or go overboard. So it either needs to be perfect to a compulsive level, or I don’t want to do anything and I start to live like a hoarder. Heck, even getting behind on my favorite TH-camrs makes me feel this way! I have used the “everything in the middle” method since discovering Marie Kondo, and it does really help. And giving myself grace for living somewhere in the middle of perfect cleanliness and hoarder house (I’m going to call it controlled clutter), has really made a big difference. I cleaned my kitchen 2 weeks ago after a period of neglect, and starting with the small tasks to build momentum was helpful. Also. Going from one area to another and seeing the slow build of progress was helpful. Thank you for your realness, honesty, and example. It is tempting, with how a lot of TH-camrs present things, to think that everyone always has it under control, when in reality, most of us don’t. 💖
Love your look. You definitely know who you are. It doesn’t matter what your individual “problem “is. Figure out what you need to do in order to compensate for it instead of using it as an excuse! Stop complaining and spend some time figuring out a new way to solve your problem.
I also need things to be able to be seen or else it becomes forgotten quickly, but i also get crazy anxiety from clutter! I’ve been working on one thing at a time and one room at a time. 👍
Kristina this was a brilliant video, you should be so proud of yourself your bedroom looks lovely. I hear you Kristina loud and clear. I suffer from anxiety and depression just like you and for me since I was a teenager. I really can relate with everything that you are saying and I do hope that maybe one day there will be something to take this horrible illness away. I often wonder what would it be like NOT to have depression and anxiety. I often feel that I have been robbed of my life. You are a very lovely lady with so much class. Thank you for sharing 🇦🇺🦘❤️💖
I recently found your channel, and I've been watching several of your videos. Your voice and videos are so soothing to watch. I am inspired to get my house in order, too. I'm very impressed by how much you accomplish in each video. I have not looked into being diagnosed with ADHD, but I at least have some of the traits. You have so many pretty things, I love your bedroom.
Thank you for this video! Inattentive ADHD is hell…it’s so hard to explain it to others. I was just diagnosed about a month ago and it’s been fascinating learning about it and realizing how much it has impacted me literally my whole life. I always feel like your videos are like sharing time with an old friend. Thank you for being so honest. It is encouraging me to do the same. (I actually emailed you the other day lol :)
Thank you. I still haven't found a way to break care tasks into manageable chunks and rotating through them in such a way that works. For me, starting with the dusting means the vacuuming will never get done. I'd like to have less stuff but I find decluttering takes physical, emotional, and mental effort and I rarely have all three at once plus I don't want to get so focused on decluttering that I let basic care tasks slide.
Christina I love all ur video's.This 1 2dae was really a fun 1.I also have ADD ADHD BI-POLAR PTSD AN OCD.I love all ur Kute shoes an ur kloset looks so kolorful. Keep up the Gd work wit ur video's.
I loved the cleaning video! I have ADHD and as a woman I feel its a different presentation than the typical ADD overactive body. Also, loved the hairstyle. I did mine like that today. I may make this a more every day style. 🎉
Love this video and you did a wonderful job breaking the taske s down to manage able sections. People who are dyslexic also need to break their tasks down in order to reduce being overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing and I think you are a beautiful young woman.
You are amazing I want to start with that ! I love when you do videos like this bc i can relate . Thanks for the share Kristina ❤ the dress is stunning that color looks great with your completion. ( I suffer from A.D.D since a child and now adult ) this all turned out rather stunning in the end.
Oh gosh, this helped me sooooo much. Thank you! I'm also wondering now if I have inattentive ADHD... 😱 I've never heard of it and it would make all my "symptoms" make sense to me.
May I ask where you find your house dresses? You always look so cute!! I never look or feel cute when its time to do housework and I think if I felt more put together it would help give me the motivation I need!

Highly recommend following KC Davis on tiktok if you have it! She's wonderful and her cleaning tips are soooo great.

Thank you for giving me the push to take care of at least one round of dishes on my day off!

Yay you did a long video!! Mental health is absolutely important 👍 thanks for sharing
Oh, just seeing. Yay! Need this, my brain has had boxing gloves of late🥊🥊
So many people struggle with this. Thanks Christina 💖
Yes I am a visual person, so love “seeing “ my stuff. Organizing them into Beautiful containers solves both problems.
Thank you for this video. ❤️ Thank you for being so vulnerable with us and sharing your beautiful home. I love a long video.
I am 48 and just found out I have ADHD. This has been a game changer. Thank you for doing this video❤
I absolutely LOVE 💕 🥰 hearing sweet Freya in the background of your videos! Your closet is so cheery and colorful!
Perfect. ASD brain would need to put up those closet curtains but ADHD needs to see the chaos piles
Haha right? I need to see what's in there so I don't forget about it. That's why I want some sort of system where at least the bins all match, so it's a little calmer!
I used a tension rod and a pretty sheet to cover up my daughters wardrobe. It’s made her room look instantly tidier ❤️ wonderful video my friend ❤️
Im so proud of you ❤ Fellow neurodivergent here, hi 👋 I have ADD and asperger syndrome, so I get easily "stuck" on things, so closet cleaning can easily take days 😅 I have found very helpful, that first I pull everything out, then make smaller piles like t-shirt pile, dress pile etc, and then look everything should I keep it?, does it fit? and so on, then fold to closet those things im keeping in order, but most important thing doing that is while im doing that, I listen videos like this 🤗😘
I really appreciate you being so open, honest and vulnerable about this. Thank you so much for sharing
I am 53 and I remember those blue suitcases! I definitely had one or two when I was little!
Thank you for the book recommendation!
🍒🌺🍒 Thank you, this is real and pure TH-cam! And please keep making more of those 40 minute videos! Take care. Maggie from Belgium 🍒🌺🍒
It is a wonderful body of work to leave for her children when they are older.
I understand you . Ive battled adhd for as far back as i remember...really enjoyed this x
18:20 nice detail adding the jumps to the music beat ❤
Dear Kristina, thank you for sharing this video with us.
I need to watch this video every time I start to clean. "mess is morally neutral." Thank you for this video!
I’m procrastinating on washing a big pile of dishes while watching you do this massive clean of your bedroom. Oh, boy!
That journal is beautiful, where did you get it?
You've made wonderful progress and as you learn more about how your specific brain functions you'll make even more.
Thank you for this. It was like watching me. I got up and did some stuff just because of watching you. We need to be friends lol
We can be internet friends!
Thank you for these tips!
Kristina -just found and subscribed to your channel -love it! FlyLady system changed my life/clutter situation. It is perfect for us "sidetracked household executives" (especially those of us with ADHD and CHAOS "can't-have-anyone-over-syndrome". FlyLady says "you can't organize clutter" and has you set your kitchen timer and declutter for 15 min.) The system gives us so much extra free time and keeps your house clean EASILY in minimum time.❤
I would love to see a video of you trying the FlyLady system sometime and feel that it would truly bless you❤
Yay another video from you! I literally put on one of your videos everyday while I’m getting ready in the morning. They are so relaxing. I love them!
Thank you!
I enjoy your longer videos! 😊
Your rainy cloud 🌧 ear rings are so adorable
Congratulations 🎉🍾 on 100 thousand subscribers!!! You deserve it .
I LOVE the idea of storing things in vintage luggage!
Christina I love all ur video's.This 1 2dae was really a fun 1.I also have ADD ADHD BI-POLAR PTSD AN OCD.I love all ur Kute shoes an ur kloset looks so kolorful. Keep up the Gd work wit ur video's.

You did an amazing job! It looks so good
Just found you channel today and really enjoy your style, decor, dresses, calming presence and topics. Thank you!
It's so great watching u...its like u get me...all the way and then ur voice is calm and soothing...thankyou
Thank you so much Heidi!
Your house is very pretty. You are very pretty. This video is helpful and entertaining. Have a nice day
This is perfect❤️❤️❤️
You are amazing I want to start with that ! I love when you do videos like this bc i can relate . Thanks for the share Kristina ❤ the dress is stunning that color looks great with your completion. ( I suffer from A.D.D since a child and now adult ) this all turned out rather stunning in the end.
Are you selling any of the clothes or shoes you are getting rid of? Also so happy for an upload ☺️ 😄 😊
Thanks for keeping it real with us!
Loved this one! 💕
I love your vintage closet wardrobe! ✨✨
Top 221 and top 47 likes and comments. Love this channel. Love this video.
That star ⭐️ lamp is so cool
I have ten loads of laundry 🧺 that need to get done . But atleast my kitchen and my toilets got cleaned today . 👏🏻👏🏻
The struggle between "object permanence" and "clutter is chaos", it's a tough balancing act for me...
Oh gosh, this helped me sooooo much. Thank you! I'm also wondering now if I have inattentive ADHD... 😱 I've never heard of it and it would make all my "symptoms" make sense to me.
I love the little one in the background
May I ask where you find your house dresses? You always look so cute!! I never look or feel cute when its time to do housework and I think if I felt more put together it would help give me the motivation I need!
Have you listed the music/album/where to find the music you're playing . Love it. Good cleaning music. Relaxing . Positive.
I use epidemic sound for my videos. Unfortunately this is so old I don’t remember what composers I used!
“Task initiation and finding routines”. That’s me, and it’s depressing.
needed this today- thank you :)
Just found you! Love your content😊
You should have kept it for your daughter 🥰..she may loved them as much as you do👍
Inspiring!!!! Ty🌟💐💙
Great video!
what music did you use for your video?
You look lovely
