Mike, you said this a couple live streams ago and I was right there with you: Where you said you haven’t ever hated Kendrick but you fully realize now how you haven’t given him the proper respect he deserves. So not only did Kendrick lower our view of Drake, he also convicted us to appreciate him more if we are gonna call ourselves Rap fans. The embodiment of winning a Rap Battle 😇
lots of casual hip hop listeners have written Kendrick off because of his reputation. they know his albums are.... challenging. i love that the battle showed people his skill which translated to them visiting his catalogue
Source for the actual reference tracks? Only leaked I found is for a song called "16" and some random Twitter account claiming that Kendrick wrote Jay's verse. Nothing proven
Good Kid Maad City is easily one of the greatest works of hip hop art in existence. Everybody who enjoys or listens to rap and hip hop should have to listen to this at least once. The storytelling in this album is incredible. Takes you right to Compton and leads you down a dark rabbit hole.
I was fully immersed in this stream & on twitch 🔥 shit was Lit. Before you start the next album i would do atleast 3-4 Kendrick loosies. Like his control verse which arguably started his tension with Drake due to his sensitive reaction to it. Followed by Kendrick's BET cypher verse. Also thinking u should react to his "Heart" series. So important when it comes to truly understanding Kendrick. Also tracks like "Cartoons & Cereal" ft. Gunplay, "Westside, right on time" ft Young Jeezy, "Collect calls" are phenomenal Kendrick songs loved by his fans & those songs were supposed to be on GKMC but didnt make the cut. Kendrick still performed these songs live because those are highly favored tracks by his fan base.
I been listening to Kendrick since he first started. He caught my attention like no other rapper since PAC. I remember when I first heard him I said he is like a modern day PAC. Been a fan every since. Can’t wait until you hear Mr morale and the big steppers. Especially Mother I sober. It will make you look at Drake differently
Yo, Mike P, been watching your battles for a hella long time. Respect OG 🙏 Found your channel during the KDot and Drake beef, immediately subscribed!! Favorite part of this whole stream, genuinely touched my heart, was when your daughter came in during, "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" and you picked her up and held her. Father of 3 here. My oldest boy is 10 and freestyles with me every year on his bday and new years!!! He is performing "Not Like Us" at his elementary school talent show next week. 🤣🤣 Love it man!! Great battler, amazing father!! Salute man!!
I can’t wait for you to listen to mr morale dawg as someone who is a fan of you as a battler (saw you in person vs Danny in Tampa) I gotta feeling that will be your favorite album
Gkmc got some of the best bonus tracks on any album imo, the whole thing is straight fire. Also the interludes are so important in this album, he tells most of the story through them very well
Bro, I've followed Kendrick since Section.80 and it's still mind blowing to me how people have not listened to Kendricks full discography. I'm happy and envy your first listen because the albums are so good.
Yo you gotta also go through his series The Heart Parts 1-5 his lead tracks that precede his albums. They're his best works some of them. The heart part 2 will make you feel something for sure
Dawg I'm hella shock you're catching up this much to Kendrick body of work. Your ass need to go watch Back Seat Freestyle video hahahaha without wifey around 😅
If you were just starting to write an rap I get why you wouldn’t listen to Albums. When I started I did the same shit not wanting to be influenced by newer rappers.
@Mike, the same people who told you Kendrick would shit on Drake before he made you believe it are the same people who are telling you pusha did and would still do the same to drake. Maybe you need to do a deep dive into Pusha's discography too 🤷🏾♂️
Take Care has the most replay ability and catchy songs but GKMC is the better album with the better concept and easily! Both classics in their own regards in my opinion.
8:13 how to say I’m from New York without saying I’m from New York! I’m a hip hop historian that like Drake there is multiple proof that Drake isn’t hip hop! But being from New York you only know and do as your told!!! 🐑 but you’re a great rapper though I hope you write your own stuff

Art of Peer Pressure "i hop out and i do my stuff"
12 years later ?
"Wop wop wop wop wop! Imma do my stuff"
One of my fav parts of Not Like Us is how Dot infused the adlibs during the Atlanta history lesson.
"Hey what?"
"What?"
Me too!!!
I also like the oooooooh at the end of euphoria. Some real boogeyman ish lol
It’s crazy how many people don’t know the legend of the “HADUKEN, YOU KEN” respect MIKE P! 🫡
And the “ I can’t believe you thought this was a match!”
Kendrick wrote Jay Rock’s verse from Money Trees. And Rock executed flawlessly.
Lie
I don’t think that’s true
@@jiujitsufighter91 I’ve heard Kendrick’s reference track for the verse and hella people have said he did. But I could be wrong.

@@kutlomahole7301not a lie lmao he did write that for jay and Kdot was writing for many tde artists
I see G.K.M.C I click
classic album. cemented him as a hip hop legend
My first time listening to this album also and I’m 48yrs old. I missed out. Sounds like some of these lyrics are already towards Drake lol
Never too late for hip hop

Ay man we are late but it’s perfect timing, Sky 😂
I’ve listeed to this album at least once a week since it came out. My high school days right here.

I've been waiting for a battle rapper to dissect Kendricks music 💯
❤ same
He was talking to Drake this album too imo some subliminals go over the head
@@RaiderLuffyno he was not tpab is the first album he disses Drake
skip to 13:13 for the album
Thank you
Welcome to L.A. Mike....land of good kids in a mad city 🤝🏿
Bro I legit love your shit man. Stumbled onto your stuff trying to watch daylyt videos

My favorite album of the last 15 years
Had to run back his whole catalog after this beef. Those numbers are probably going crazy
I dizlike drake so much back then I deleted poetic juztice and I never liked him...I feel the same way dmx felt about him since the start lol
Probably my fave album by him, and an album i name as one of the best after 2010. beginning to end heat.
I missed the TPAB live 😢.
Twitch.TV/iamMikeP_ !!!
0:14 my god what's the song in your intro! that shit was amazing
It’s call 25 South. It’s actually on this channel!
Eyy bro as a kendrick fan id just like to say thank you.

My favorite Album ❤
The album is like a tarantino movie, tells a story in a (kinda) non-chronological order
Welcome to the DOT SIDE
His first one was a play , then, book, movie, poem, magazine, therapy... something like that Good kid Madd city is a movie
Gkmc = movie TPAB = Book DAMN. = Magazine MMATBS = Therapy
have you listened to To Pimp a Butterfly? if not i seriously recommend it, it changed my life fr
I had this album and Nothing Was The Same on repeat in high school 🤣💀 Poetic Justice was ✨✨ What a crazy turnout 🤣🤣
GKMC is a true classic in an age where that phrase is overused. That’s a desert island album for sure
This his greatest work imo
I was in jr when this dropped. This album defined 8th grade for me
Yo you gotta also go through his series The Heart Parts 1-5 his lead tracks that precede his albums. They're his best works some of them. The heart part 2 will make you feel something for sure
J Rock smooth as ever
Wow I’m glad you listened to this one of the last dope albums I listened too
I’m not gonna lie that 2 guns song you was playing on that stream was fire 🔥
Section 80. Is AMAZING too
Yeah. They woke now. Welcome all! 😂
I don't know why I feel like the writers/directors from Euphoria wanted their show to "feel" like this album.
D0am , u cut the vid , I was vibing Mike, I dig it tho
Dawg I'm hella shock you're catching up this much to Kendrick body of work. Your ass need to go watch Back Seat Freestyle video hahahaha without wifey around 😅
Bro I’ve been so blind to his full length projects. I’m glad i have been tho. Perfect time to listen now 💯
Hall Donald Lewis Brian Gonzalez Edward
Where can I find part Deuce of this? I checked twitch maybe im bound
Do the full DAMN. Album the deluxe version. It’s backwards and tells a story
No, Do not have the backwards version your first listen that's not a good idea
If you were just starting to write an rap I get why you wouldn’t listen to Albums.
When I started I did the same shit not wanting to be influenced by newer rappers.
200th like 🤟👌

Anything that Dre puts on you should listen to
Bro do Onyx "all we got is us" next
Untitled would be a good listen
You grew on me Mike, no Diddy. Subbin now! 💯
The recent live is compromised - ak
We cant Watch back on Twitch ?
Welcome to the KDot fan club…
Anybody would have died to Drake and his team of ghost writers lol. Also J Cole only had an issue going at Kenny. Cole would have smoked Drake
Im salty i missed the rest of on Twitch
Now go listed to Section 80
Please react to Jay Rock- 90059
Back in April of this year. I just found out that 'Poetic Justice' was about hip hop.
No Sing about me i'm dying of thirst
G.K.M.C
VS
TAKE CARE
???
GKMC solos
Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst by itself clears anything he's ever made.
Take Care has the most replay ability and catchy songs but GKMC is the better album with the better concept and easily! Both classics in their own regards in my opinion.
@@dg23457 not true. Kendrick has the only hip hop album to chart the top 200 for 600 consecutive weeks. Sounds like replay value to me
