This type of storytelling from song to song is rare but then he was able to make them all slaps. Kendrick's songwriting is as elite as his lyricism and storytelling. The best classic to come out of his generation and Its definitely in my top 20 rap albums of all time.

Good kid mad city is similar to Cuba character from boys in the hood. Close enough to smell and touch and witness everything street and even be touched and affected and making a choice to not dive in head first even when wanting revenge and retribution . In many ways that’s the harder play. Can’t wait to hear all of your perspectives on to pimp a butterfly

Big facts Crook, anytime I listen to Good Kid m.a.a.d. City I have ti play from the beginning.
DAMN is amazing also by Kendrick. If you play DAMN in reverse you’ll then realize he basically released two albums in one. There’s two different stories. One is from beginning to end the other is from end to beginning

Sherane AKA Master Splinter has a few layers. 'Master Splinter' is the Rat that trained the Ninja Turtles. In this context Sherane is (1) a hood rat and (2) the rat that set up Kendrick to get jumped.

This episode started off a lil tense lol. Tray Deee’s mic was definitely in and out, Yac was just tryna help. At the beginning I was peeping body language wondering was Crooked okay. He looked lost in thought but when he got that narrative off about the art suffering because of the label bottom lines it alllll made sense 😳 Another great episode.
I don’t listen to this album that much because of what Yac said. It’s like a movie in a sense. It got a few playlistable joints (Don’t Kill My Vibe, Money Trees, Poetic Justice) but they really don’t do the full body of work justice. To Pimp a Butterfly is kinda the same but it’s more cohesive sonically, that’s why I wear that album out from top to bottom (it’s more musical and less like a movie/play) Hopefully y’all cover that one in the future. He lowkey might have 3+ classics under his belt.

I remember when this album came out bein a 22 year old good kid from a mad city in Cali it became a instant classic 4 me & I want even a Kendrick fan at that time....... since then I've realized that was rap album of that decade & Dot is undeniably tha 🐐

I waited until everybody including the radio played all the hits off this album to sit down one day and play it from top to bottom and man was I blown away. This album is really a winner along with other classic albums like you can put this album on and play other classic hip hop albums after this album has finished, then turn right around and just play this album again if you choose to,just classic all the way through no skips until you've played it all the way through respect to Kendrick Lamar the one and only ya bish😂😎💯💯

This is definitely still among my favorite album’s and smart of you guys to put it out a few days before Kendrick’s birthday. I relate to this album so much cause of me and Kendrick being virtually the same age too with my birthday actually being today and me being a little over a year older.
A pretty solid breakdown on the album and it being one that whenever you play it. You have to play it the whole way through. I would say my favorite track from the album is definitely between Money Trees and m.A.A.d city.
Also speaking of fellow Gemini ♊️ & June born. Wishing a Happy Birthday a few hours early to you too Coniyac ❤️🎂🙏🏼

I've been a fan of KDot since the days of Black Hippies ( K Dot, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Absoul ) but when Good Kid m.a.a.d. City came out. I knew it was HIT. 🎤🎧🎵🎶🎛🔥🔥🔥. My favorite song off the album gotta be " Sing About Me" the vivid picture of each individual. The way the first friend died with a sound of shots and the way the voice faded out of the young lady, and the "Money Trees" Kendrick and Jay Rock ran on that track. Salute from Dallas ( Oak Cliff) TX home of the D.O.C but we'll always salute Cali!

Man, the energy of this show is Incredible 😲. I hope it doesn't stray. Yac lane is clear. Tracy Dee never answered my question about the dulo twist via twitter years ago. Hopefully they have a live show soon. So we can express our dulo twist and how to stay out/get of them 😂. Need that segment.

Cant forget that it not only had the highest first week sales for that year, but this album holds the record for longest run in the Billboard top 200. 10 yrs and running....thats a mean stat.
And just to agitate any lurkin Drake stans 😅 From charting, to awards, to lists, to being studied at universities....outside of units, Drake doesnt have a standalone album thats as decorated and renowned as GKMC.

It takes a TEAM to make CLASSIC ALBUMS & most FANS don’t understand MUSIC like they think they do🎯….S/O to K Dot for being a dope ARTIST.
