CynicalSnowflake sbs and sas operators do have some martial art training but it’s there mentality that would prove a challenge ( by that I mean they ain’t fucking around when someone’s attacking them) but I can agree special forces do get overlooked as some type of god in hand to hand combat which is mainly a result of Hollywood.
True but guarantee, SAS, SBS, Delta Force, SEALS, etc will fight dirty, they could easily deal with the average scumbag on the street, someone with years of martial arts training would offer a decent challenge, but the special forces types will fight dirty, eye poking, ear slaps, etc... My CO was pretty laid back. Didn't bully us, always chose the softer approach like 'you didn't fail me, you failed yourself. You either try harder next time or you'll just have to quit'. Always there to talk to when we needed to. Treated us whenever we did well. But we didn't call him mate, and he wouldn't stand for it. We called him 'sir' or 'sjefssjersjant'.
I hate how at the end she was like “I won’t have my team suffer for me” like no you were gassed don’t take the moral high ground and use it as an excuse to leave
I have respect for people raising money cancer , because I am having tests for skin cancer at present. I served 12 yrs in the HM forces as a Pti and sniper in an infantry battallion. I agree that although i respect women in the forces I understand the principle and I have sèen through experience that women in general are not robust enough to with stand elite training. My view is not gender based but purely in what I have seen first hand. The crux would be in real situations in a combat enviroment women with the special forces or elite would not cut it apart from maybe a an exceptional one or two
And this exceptional one or two should be allowed in imo. You just have to keep the bars of entry and completing as high as before and see who passes, irrespective of gender.

Ollie Levine It May look tedious but it is a very important lesson, I’ve seen it happen in training where the IC has not repeated orders from higher ups word for word and got our whole patrol “killed” the whole group gets punished as one members mistake can impact the whole group, and he was singled out to watch his group get punished so he can realise the consequence of his actions which in a real combat situation could’ve been his group members getting killed, this taught everyone in the group and the leader to not misunderstand orders, also probably a beasting for the sake of beasting

Niall Richardson no I understand that but I mean if you make a mistake why are you forced to do push ups and stuff. The guy who made the mistake wasn’t even punished, everyone else was. My point is, it’s unrealistic and I doubt it’s very effective
Ollie Levine It May look tedious but it is a very important lesson, I’ve seen it happen in training where the IC has not repeated orders from higher ups word for word and got our whole patrol “killed” the whole group gets punished as one members mistake can impact the whole group, and he was singled out to watch his group get punished so he can realise the consequence of his actions which in a real combat situation could’ve been his group members getting killed, this taught everyone in the group and the leader to not misunderstand orders, also probably a beasting for the sake of beasting
