I just found Daphne's obituary. She was only 17. Her brain damage did turn out to be quite severe, but otherwise she seemed healthy, and more importantly, happy. Her neighbours wrote very nice things about her. Seems she was a ray of sunshine in the neighbourhood. May she keep her fighting spirit, even on the other side. Being an aspiring doctor, I totally agree when the mother said that no one knows a child like parents do. I hope that statement inspire future doctors (like me) to never dismiss any sign and symptom that a parent says, no matter how weird it sounds. If we shut our ears the moment a parent says these "weird" symptoms, it might cost a life. We should not think that we know better, because in truth, we don't know better. We're not the one who's with that child 24/7, so it pays to LISTEN. Again, NEVER DISMISS A SYMPTOM! If you don't know, refer to a specialist who you think who knows better. And for the parents, if you think there's something wrong, please never let any doctor who dismissed these symptoms from discouraging you guys to find the right answer. Sad as it is to hear, there are really doctors who think they know everything and just dismiss it and find some weird symptoms a nuisance for them. (Honestly for me, I think they're just dismissing it because they can't accept the fact that they don't know everything, so they're gonna just pretend that it's nothing and dismiss it). But don't let their pride stop you from acting and knowing what's wrong.
Is not only the parents' patient also the patient themselves too... Im also going to be a doctor and I, myself have fibromyalgia and I know it bc im studying but no doctor believes me... Is true. Nowadays doctors, seem like too tired or not passionate at all by their profession or dont take it seriously.... But we can change that. I know myself too much about pain and discomfort... I dont know how a doctor can let the patient suffer that much, honestly... At least if you dont know, you try to refer them to another doctor or have some suspicion and research....
That first neurologist doctor they consulted should be struck off, to dismiss them like that, what is the point of his diploma if he didn't realise the severity of the signs...
You both are idiots with no clue, wow. The doctor did exactly what he needed to do. A one time incident is no need to worry and far too little to do ANYTHING about. You people have no clue, yet you feel the need to yap and punish someone simply doing their job.
@@randomlyboring8358 the first neurologist did not go with the mother's diagnosis. He did not want to watch the video and just said there was nothing wrong, and sent them home. This is very common as doctors are doing less and less clinical exam and relying more and more only on tests and labs. So the baby's quality of life and clinical manifestation is being les and les important to docs. In addition now days we love to classify illness and stress reactions or mental health issues, so he probably just assumed the mom was too stressed out and worrying for nothing.
Likely because they went to the ER, which is mainly for life and limb emergencies, trauma etc...The correct thing to do would be to go to their GP and get a referral to a specialist. The specialist would be able to immediately narrow down appropriate tests and further referrals as needed. Its like if you call out a mobile mechanic for a roadside assist, and when he arrives you try to show him photos of a bit of frayed carpet under your passenger seat. About two years ago I was diagnosed with eosinophilic gastroenteritis. My ears perked up when Heather’s doctor said her levels were high. It’s an obvious sign that the body is fighting something. I can understand how they wouldn’t diagnose her correctly. I had other symptoms that could indicate my illness was something else. Scary and frustrating. I was treated with prednisone for months. It was so hard to get off of it. Now I’m finally free of my symptoms and my illness.
How can you be mad at a regular doctor for not coming up with a rare disease diagnosis? When it takes several specialists to come up with such a diagnosis. Yes it is frustrating but give the doctors a break.

Yet another of these programmes, with yet another very young bottle-fed baby!!!! I can't understand it.
You again? I believe I already told you to brush up on infant care 101. Just because a baby is drinking from a bottle doesn't mean they're not having breast milk. Even if they're not having breast milk, baby formula is an excellent alternative for mother's who are unable to produce enough breast milk as well.
@@wendillon92 Thank you. My son was bottle fed on advice from the hospital. Nothing wrong with bottle .
Oh what, so she must have had Moya-Moya because she wasn’t breast fed. Okay Carol.
