TIP>>> all new gas chainsaws need to be ran through a few tanks of gas while operating. That's how you break them in. 2nd of all. All gas chainsaws should be started then left sitting to idle for a minute or 2 in order to get the most amount of power and to perform more effectively. Also this looks a lot like Remington saws. Anyway a few other things that work in all gas chainsaws is using premium gas and high performance 2 stroke gas mix. I run husqvarna mix in my craftsman and my Stihl and in my husqvarna chainsaws. Also I've always ran hydraulic fluid as my bar and chain oil. It's much cheaper than any other high performance oil for lubrication and provides a smooth feeling while operating. Hope you fellow loggers and saw owners try these things. Have a great day

I had three different generations of this saw. First one was grey, and then later two red ones. And they all ran fine with good 92octane and good 2 stroke mix. Only reason why I got rid of first two is that I sold them for more what I paid for them and bought another fixer upper to bring back to life. My current one (I believe 2015 year model) runs strong on Stihl synthetic mix and super tech bar oil. Keep them lubed, don't push them hard and they will last you a long time.

I agree. I only use 92 octane for my 2 stroke engines, and never have a problem with them.

You can't force it through. Just let cut. That goes for any machine.

What is the model number of your old 16" saw? I have the same saw, but can't find the model number. Thanks.

I bought one from Ace Hardware on Fathers Day for only $99.95. Started right up with no problem and ran great for the 30 minutes that I used it to cut down a massive 20-year-old Philodendron. It started right back up an hour later. This replaced a 10 yr old Poulan that I had, all of the gas lines went back, have new ones on order. Great homeowners chainsaw for that price.

I paid 124 at Lowes August 2020. Wish I stopped at Ace but still feel I got a good buy

Nice chainsaw. I have a Craftsman chainsaw just like your old one except my chainsaw is gray. It runs but needs new fuel lines and carb adjustment.

Question: On the old chain saw that you showed in the video - does the "Kick Bar" have an "At Rest" detent position, or is it loose until activated to STOP the chain?

Air filter design is worthless, i have two of these saws and both saws leak a severe amount of dust and dirt around the throat of the carb, i had to add a o-ring and a kustom washer to the filter to add support to the filter. and its better but filter plugs up quick and saw performance suffers soon after start up.. its just bad design of filter,.. carb stud is offset so when tightened it pushes front of filter down and raises rear causing a air gap between carb n filter , every tank full of gas the carb throat is coated with saw dust.. and this was happening first time running these saws ..adding a small o-ring n washer seemed to fix the problem .... other than that they been good saws for me so far..

Seems to have better reviews on Amazon and Lowes than the Husqvarnas. I'm ordering the 20" 46cc in a minute here from Lowes. Free shipping, and 30 days to take it back if problems. $199 vs $350 for equivalent Husky.

Husqvarna craftsman and poulan are all the same saws . I think husqvarna makes them for the other two companies.

I would check to see if the switch is continuously grounded. Usually it's something easy like that.

You should always sharpen the blade out of the box, believe it or not, same thing with a new chain.

That is a Remington saw in red. Sorry to say my Remington saw from lowes didn't last. The air filter is junk, let's dirt into carb and will kill the saw. Hope you have better luck with it.
